Mods...I wasn't really sure where was the most appropriate place to post this...I thought maybe Critter Chat or else the Politics forum...but my indecisiveness led me to just post it here. Please feel free to move the thread if you feel it would be better suited to a different forum. :)
Here is the article on AOL news... (http://channels.aolsvc.co.uk/news/article.adp?id=20040906022409990001)
All I can say is, it's about time!
The word is that the PM is going to use some sort of special powers to push through the ban without the House of Lords having to agree to it. The House of Lords mainly consists of ageing 'aristocrats' who gain a seat in the house because their great grandfather was a Count or something, and who think having a single drop of so-called 'blue blood' gives them the God-given right to hunt if they see fit.
I personally disagree very strongly with hunting. People say "It's no worse than killing animals for food" but in my opinion it is. People don't go along to abbattoirs and WATCH the animals being slaughtered, and then claim to enjoy it, do they?
Anyway, what do you guys think? :)
