she is having a rough time with the chicken pox. I didn't ask this past weekend for her because she didn't look like she was going to get them very bad. Well today she has a lot more than I expected and the itching is driving her nuts and she can't stand the baths for too long, the tub is too hard. If I could I would have them for her, she is very miserable and getting a bit depressed even though she knows they won't last forever. Her name is Nikki and here is a pic of her.

Thank you

Just lit one!!!! I'm sorry for her, Sahm...I had the chicken pox the summer before I went to college. It was HORRIBLE. If you can get her into the bath, get some aveeno oatmeal bath. That helped a little bit, with me. You might try to put some towels down INSIDE the bath tub..so that there is a little cushion for her too. I hope she gets better very soon!

That's what I did when my son had the chicken pox. Lining the tub with cushy towels helps. I will light a candle for her tonight. Hope she's better soon.

awww!!!

*lights a candle*

if it gets much worse, though, make SURE you take her to the DR!! My brother almost had to go to the hospital when he had the chickenpox. . . if it doesn't get any better you'd prolly want to take her to the dr anyways to make sure they're not getting infected or anything (that's what happened to my brother.)

*HUGS* to you and her. Get well soon!

Thank you so much everyone one!

Today she woke up in much brighter spirits and declared she is feeling better!

Thanks for the tips too, I'm using them! Fortunately she's the last one in the past 5-6 weeks! I think I'm now the chicken pox expert! ;)

I really love y'all!

We love you too...and don't forget..now that they've all had them, hopefully, you should NEVER have to go through them again!!! WOOHOOOOO!

I had a small case when I was very little. And then the summer before I left for college, my little sister caught them. My mother thought that I would be safe, because of my previous case...so she didn't take any extra measures, or try to isolate my little sister. I woke up in the middle of the night, one night, sweating like crazy..and itchy..and I knew...darnnit..poor mom was wrong. And so not only did she have a grumpy chickenpoxed six year old to deal with...she also had a VERY grumpy eighteen year old to deal with too! And they say that if you get chicken pox as an adult, they are worse...I can attest to that..I had them...EVERYWHERE! LOL.

So I feel for your little one Sahm. And I'm sooooo glad she is feeling better, and that you will get a nice long break. But then..now that schools just around the corner...there's lice to worry about, stomach flu's...etc..DOES IT EVER END????? LOL...stock up on the lysol....and do some realllllly strong protection magick for your babies! Poor mama's..you never get any break for long..do you???

I had them when I was 16.. I had to go to the ER many times during my 2 week sickness, because of high fevers. Yeah, Danus.. I had them EVERYWHERE too.. I didn't realize you could get them in your throat and on your eyelids and on the bottom of your feet, but yup.. there they were. Candle is lit from me.. hope she gets all better soon! :)

:elf:
P.S. The oatmeal baths were the only thing that helped me.. the calomine lotion made me itch worse. My mom duct taped oven mitts to my hands to stop me from scratching.

SAHM that is a wonderful picture. I'm glad to hear she is feeling better. I'll continue to pray for her.

On the bright side, becuase she did get such a rough case of the pox she almost certainly will not have to deal with it later in life.

Yikes, chicken pox at 16 and 18, that had to be terrible.

I guess your DD is doing better, but I will still say a prayer for her. And for you too- you have been amazingly stong taking care of your family these past weeks. Don't forget to rest a bit yourself too.

HUGS~~~~

Thanks Chryssi1! She woke up this morning happy and giggling and silly. A very good sign! She even said she wasn't very itchy :D Now I just have to keep her from picking at the scabs, especially on her face! And slather her in vitamin E! :D
Thank the Goddess it only happens once!
