View Full Version : The Difference Half A Second Can Make

I was driving on the highway, minding my own business. Tra-la-la and all that stuff. Since I'm in Pennsylvania, deer are everywhere. So I'm driving and suddenly I see a deer jump out in front of the driver in front of me. He swerves to miss it, loses control, rolls once, and hits the truck in the next lane hard enough to tip it over. The deer ran off, the truck driver crawled out unharmed, but the driver in front of me wasn't so lucky. I had to wait there for two hours until an ambulance took care of his body. It wasn't the most pleasant of scenes. Poor guy.
This may be sort of selfish to think, but half a second difference and that could have been me. :foh: I'm a bit shaken up over it.

Glad to hear you are ok Klucky..... There have been many moments in my life where 1 or 2 secs either way would have had me in the middle of an accident. In Wisconsin we have deer and we have almost been taken out by them alot since we live in a rural area.
Rule of thumb.....stay alert.
Hugs and calming energy!

mom and i have missed several accidents because we stopped spontaneously for something....
i haven't been as unlucky as that particular driver but i have been hit by a deer....that the stream of cars behind me missed......

Yeah, that's never a pretty site either. A driver in front of me had once hit a deer so hard that it was instantly decapitated.

Down here in SC, deer are everywhere. Many times I've had near misses. But they are bad in the neighborhoods in my little town....

Deer are bad all over. I am glad that you didn't get hurt. Just remember to keep looking for the deer. They come from out of nowhere.

*pats on the shoulder* I'm getting used to it. I've seen quite a few. Some strangers, some not. *shrugs*
