I think I'm ready...

Ok, I think I might be ready to attempt a reading from the victim's list. But first, I have a question about reversed cards. I've heard some ignore them, some use them, etc... For my first reading, I was planning on ignoring them until I feel more comfortable. Do you have to decide all these as you're suffling? Also, how do you do a reading on someone you've never met in person? Do I just think of the online name here as I'm shuffling? Thanks for answering my silly questions. :)

BTW, Willow Raven, your help to Newbie was really helpful. I've copied it out & have re-read it several time & will re-read it again before I do a reading tonight.

Just wanna 'ditto' that. :) I had no idea why my cards seemed so weird, and from your post I deduced they were probly grumpy and gave them a thorough cleansing. :) Now they're tucked away safe and sound in their pouch with my Algiz rune protecting them. :) And I think we're friends again! :D

If your cards are all upright to begin with, just shuffle so that you don't reverse any cards. :D

I think of the person's online name and their sign/element. Some of us have our pictures up in the Tarot Member's Photo Album. ;)

Good for you wildchild! It is exciting and scary and fun all at the same time, isn't it? I am really new to using my cards too and I try to keep my cards all in the same direction for the most part. However, I might do a reading where they end up somehow reversed. I go by gut feeling then whether I try to read them reversed or just turn them upright. I am finidng that the impressions just keep popping in my head whether they are upright or not.

I try to focus on a persons online name or real name (if I know it, but mostly online names, seems easier for me...) and their question if there is any, and sometimes also on where that person is (like Sweden, USA etc) and also on what reading I am gonna do.

You should see me, sitting on the floor (works great for me when I am doing readings on my own, if I am reading for a person who is there physically, I try to sit in the sofa or someplace else and have the cards on a table...), and I constantly whisper to my card, like if I where to do a reading for you, Wildchild I would whisper to my cards something like " the pentagram spread for wildchild in..." and I also ask the cards to make sure that they get themselves in the right position for that spread... :) I know I am so silly ... :)
After I am through with the shuffling I lay the cards down for a second and ask them to finish shuffeling on their own, and you'll know when they are ready and in the right place, sometimes they are that way really fast, sometimes you'll have to wait a minute...
and then I start :)


Gosh, it seems so silly when you read this, but really it works great for me, I talk a lot to my cards and I always thank them afterwards aswell as my self and others that might have been involved in the reading... :)

as for the reversed cards, I always read reversed cards, because that has always felt right for me, and you shouldn't worry to much about it, if you get one reversed, I am sure you will know what it is trying to tell you! :)

Ok, I'll do one for you tomorrow. I have to admit, I kinda cheat by pulling a rune too. It seems to make it easier to see where the cards are taking me. I'm really enjoying these cards, though.

Cool!! You should put the rune down in the reading too ~ people would be really interested!!.. Ive always planned to pull some runes for my tarot readings here online but never had the time ~ maybe tomorrow Ill try and fit some in :D
