I just talked to him, and he is just ready for it to be over. Life sort of just shuts down when a hurricane is out there.
I lived on the coast when Camille hit in "69. My dad and brother were in Viet Nam. Luckily our house had very little damage. We stayed at the Navy base in a large warehouse.
So I've been through many hurricanes. So has he. But many people get apathetic when it comes to the. Especially when lots of false alarms are being put out.
My husband says it looks like it might be going more towards New Orleans... which I have many friends there as well. So the best thing would be if it just petered out.. but there is no chance of that.
Thanks for all your good thoughts. And maybe he'll not stay in his second story apt. and go out to his aunts where it is well away from the beach.

I am supposing he is ok. I didn't call this morning. They were on the outskirts of the hurricane, and I'm sure they got some high winds. As soon as I talk to him, I'll let you guys know how everything went for them.

I talked to Roy last night.
He is just fine. They lost electricity until about 8 last night. But fortunatly for him
( unfortunatly for those east of him) Ivan turned to the right at the last minute.
Poor Florida got it again.
