experiments with a mirror

I'm completely confused as to what I just experienced. If anyone has ever experienced something like this, PLEASE tell me. Last night at about 10 o'clock, I was reading "To Light a Sacred Flame." I got up to the part about talking to the dead. Silver Ravenwolf gave a short ritual to help you along. So I grabbed the nearest bell, white candle and glass of water I could find and sat down in front of my full length mirror. I cast a circle and blessed the candle as a link to my ancesstors. I called them into my circle and looking into the mirror, I asked to see one of my personalities. It was really wierd. I just kept staring into the mirror without blinking for a long time. Everything around me began to fade and finally dissappeared. All that I could see was my own face in the mirror. Then my face started to get fuzzy and change. All I could make out was a man's face. He was African and looked like he was in his 30's. That was all I saw before I got a little scared and quickly closed my circle and bade all of my ancestors farewell. Well, I'm not a man in my thirties and I'm not African-american. All I can ask is, "What was that?"

Uhm just what you said? A different personality/previous life. There's no reason why you couldn't be another race, gender, or even species in another life. You should be happy, it went well for you.

...well, might have been one of your ancestors, as you asked to see. Might have been a face from a past life (a "spiritual" ancestor, so to speak).

Yes i agree i believe it could be you in a previous life or a guardian.

I suspect that in your own heart you already know the answer. It may just be a matter of meditating on it to find the answer. :) Perhaps it was you in a past life. Perhaps it was an ancestor. Perhaps it was a spiritual guardian. Perhaps it was a representation of an aspect of yourself.

Or, of course, if you still come up blank, there's also the possability that it's just a random wandering spirit looking in on you at that moment. Scrying can be a funny thing. Like when using a telescope to stare out at the stars, sometimes the simplest answer for that lady-bug sized red comet that you can't find a second time is that something passed through your line of sight. :)

That is so cool....my friend came over one time...she is a buddist monk/num. She told me to stare at her. Her face changed into a man with a bald head. She said it was one of her past life incarnations...
