Well everyone, Mabon is coming up and I was wondering-what do you do to celebrate? I'm in the midst of writing a solitary ritual for myself and i'm kind of stuck. I would like to know what personal things you may do to celebrate this holiday. Up until recently I didn't celebrate any of the holidays at all (I know...I was a bad pagan :wah: ) But I would like to start celebrating my own religious holidays, not only the christian ones. So tell me what you guys think!
peace and love,

I see Mabon as a day of thanksgiving. Its the day celebrating the second harvest, when most of the fruits and grains have been harvested. So, you may want to incorporate thanks within your ritual. Ideas might be to hold a stone, imbue it with energy and thank the god/dess, then fling the stone into a pond, visualizing the ripples as your thankfulness reaching out to the gods, and the people who you feel need to feel appreciated. Or, you may write your thanks on a piece of paper, light it, watch the flame burn the paper and scatter the ashes to the winds. Or, think of all the things you are thankful for while holding some seed (or birdseed), and then raise a cone of energy and toss your birdseed, readying the earth for your next harvest (by tossing the seeds on the ground). These are just a few ideas, and I realize they are late in coming. :)

It is a bit late, but "corn dollies" (both the woven wheat kind and the corn husk kind) are best made at this time of year, to preserve a bit of the harvest spirit for use in the spring.

I went to a lovely ritual last night. It was great to get out and celebrate Mabon with others.

I took a nice long walk down a country lane with my pooch. I mean chili for dinner. That night I did a small ritual in my house. I still had summery flowers on my dining room table. I want to change the centerpiece to something more autumny. I plan to sweep (magickly) my house w/my ritual broom and then do a smudge. I was just in St. Thomas and bought a beautiful abalone shell which will hold my sage smudge, but I have to purify my abalone shell first.
