Growing, changing, and accommodating...
I am sure almost all of you know me and my wife Semele. And we know almost all of you. Wow. Over 1200 friends spread across the globe. It’s an amazing thing when you think about now and when this was all started. Just in case you don’t know the story...
Semele and I started Mystic Wicks to sell candles and various Pagan items. Well, we wanted to have a message board to communicate with customers. After about a month of being open (the shop was still being worked on) the message board soared to about 80 members. Most of which were very active. They were discussing their lives and their Paths. They were laughing and crying. At that moment, Semele and I knew that the shop was not going to be opened. We immediately closed the development on it and focused our energies to the board, which became known as the Mystic Wicks Pagan Community.
I guess you can call Mystic Wicks our tribute to Personal Spirituality.
Lately it seems we have slowed down a bit. Some anger and some hurt has run its course through the boards. We had our first 'fundie' problem and it was quickly expunged. We had some personal attacks appearing and it seemed at one point to be chaotic. Eaglewolf took charge and quickly tried to correct the problems (*nods to ew*). "Thank you my friend."
But, his way is not the way I have solved problems in the past. As most of you know. I solve problems by showing my concern to the Community as a whole. We have rules posted now. Some people, I am sure, were saddened to see that. I know I was. For the longest time we had no rules. It was unspoken. But, as we grow larger...it is necessary so that we can protect every last one of you. We had to have a standard. And we do now. When something needs to be done...we do it.
The Community as a whole has always been included in most of the decisions in this Community. Why? Because without all of you...this place would be nothing at all. And that is why I am writing this letter.
I want to ask all of you to protect this Community. I want you to come and participate. I want you to care about your other Community members. Some of whom, you may not agree with. Some of whom, you may not particularly like. But all of whom you share one thing with at least. This place. Our place. Your place. Throughout the life of this Community I have seen all of you excited about its presence and about the ability to share...its still here. It’s inside every one of you. Come back...every one of you...and bring back with you. You will see it again. I can still see it. Although I can still see the hurt as well. Lets mend that.
Lets get OUR Community back on track...back on the road it has always been on and will continue to be on for years to come.
Thanks to every one of you. We love you all. And we miss a lot of you.
