My hubby just had his solar return a week ago and I mentioned that I should probably learn to do solar returns as a predictive technique. He asked if I knew anyone who does them and so I am asking here if anyone wants to take a look at his solar return? I know some use place of birth for solar returns, and some use place of residence at the time of the return, so for this return we are living in Jaffrey, NH (72w01, 42n49)

Birth Data:
15 Sept 1969
7:35 pm (according to his hospital bracelet)
Lowell General Hospital
Lowell, MA (71w19, 42n38)

I see a lot of 12th and 1st house activity. He basically wants to know if his "luck" will improve. We want to move out of where we are and closer to his job, and I know he also wants to make a bit more money. I see that Sun, Mars, Jupiter, and the Moon are all conjunct the ascendant. All I can figure is that it is going to be a busy year for him ahead. Beyond that, I'm lost. Anyone want to take a stab at it? Thanks.

stab stab stab  Sorry, I had to.
I would definately agree with you that he has a busy year ahead.

He's going through some heavy duty transits right either now or in the near future... because it's a solar return chart, they will be effecting him all year. I tried to keep the aspect around 3 degrees.

First thing to keep in mind... though those SR planets are sitting in the 12th on his SR chart, they are sitting in his 6th house of his natal chart. Showing that alot of the changes will be done quietly. He's very focused on work, but he doesn't want everyone knowing about it.

Another thing that I found interesting is the switch of his trapped signs. In his natal chart, Virgo and Pisces are intercepted with the 6th and 12th houses, and Cancer and Capricorn are doubled with the 4th/5th and 10th/11th. In the SR chart, Virgo and Pisces are doubled with the 6th/7th and 12th/1st, and Cancer and Capricorn are intercepted in the 4th and 10th. It shows a change of focus.

I definately see alot of changes with work. SR Saturn is sextile to N Sun, trine to N Neptune, and sextile to N Pluto. It also sits fairly happy in it's natural house... but being in Cancer, its still in detremint, so things aren't going to be easy. The changes are going to require work on his part for them to come about. He needs to trust his feelings in this matter. He'll have good intuition on the it.

SR Neptune is aspecting his N Moon, N Mercury, and N Jupiter. Trining N Mercury and N Jupiter, it shows a great deal of idealism and intuition. It is squaring N Moon.. pointing to illusions regarding his emotions. He needs to be careful to see things as they really are and not as he wishes they would be.

This will be a year of difficult changes. SR Pluto is squaring his N Sun... actually, the next couple of years are going to full of changes for him. With Pluto moving as slowly as it does, the aspect will be effecting his SR and transits for a while.

Same with his N Venus. Pluto will be trining her for a while. You should be looking forward to a time of intense emotions from him.

On the more personal side, SR Mars is conjunct to N Sun, showing lots of energy and assurtion on his part. SR Moon is conjunt to N Uranus, showing more of a love for the unconventional (this also shows a possibility of change of residence)

Hope this helped.

That is so awesome. Thanks, Valkie. Assertion, huh. I suppose you could call it that. :) He has mentioned recently (last week or so) that he feels that he has changed a lot in the last few years, and he doesn't like it. He says he used to be mean all the time, but he changed for me. He decided that he liked himself better then so he has decided to go ahead and be mean again. Well, he was certainly vocal, and brutally honest, but he wasn't a complete jerk. I didn't fall in love with a complete jerk. I hope that is one thing that he gets a grip on.

We have been trying to move out of this house and town for years. We managed to escape once, but got sucked back when our landlord sold the house and gave us three weeks notice (+$500) to move. This was the only place we had and it is not a healthy place for us to be, either physically or emotionally.

He really loves his job. He started this past March and has already worked his way up to Yard Manager, which is the person who manages sales and inventory of landscape material. He answers directly to the company owner. As for difficulties there, does an 1:20 hour drive each way qualify? That is a huge difficulty for us, another reason we want to move.

Could the sixth house activity also apply to his health? He has some health issues that he desperately wants to get control of.

Thanks again.

ya, 6th house covers health issues too. Other things that it covers are things that involve those over you and those that are under you in a work enviorment... things that involve your bosses and things that involve those you are the boss of.... I think small animals are in there too.

What is a Solar return. I am currently going through my saturn return, but solar is something new to me. Can you give brief explanation of this concept.

Hi, Shatril - it's a fancy name for your birthday!

A Saturn return is when Saturn returns to the position he was in in your chart - that happens every 29.5 years.

A Solar return is when the Sun returns to the position he was in in your chart - which of course happens every year, usually on your birthday (sometimes it can be the day before or the day after) - that's where the expression "many happy returns" comes from.
