The funny thing is this site is how I found Mystic Wicks... I was looking for things to back-up my arguments on how Halloween was not Satan worship and found MW!!! But aside from that what is you opinion on this movement?? BTW for those of you interested the have a forum with an "I don't agree with you" section (but unless you enjoy being attacked I don’t suggest posting there) _firedevil

STUPID. Idiots like these give Christians a bad name (I know, I'm a Christian myself, and these ppl make me nuts). But, hey....if they'd rather go off somewhere by themselves instead of beating the rest of us up to agree with them, let 'em....although I thought it was illegal to secede from the Union........maybe they should go find a nice little deserted island somewhere.....

I think someone should tip off Nicolae and the Global Community Police that the Trib Force is alive and well. (It's a Left Behind joke.)

I think its just plain scary. Why do these people feel the need to enforce everyo0ne to have their views.

Because it's been pounded into their brains since the very beginning of Christianity to do everything they possibly can to get the poor sheep that have gone astray over into the right flock... G-d commands it as well if I remember correctly.

If they want us to respect their wishes, they need to learn to respect ours as well.

They succeed in turning America into their version of Christianity and I might just pack my bags and go north. I'm of the opinion 'Worship how you want, DO NOT shove you beliefs down my throat and that is what they will do. Buncha bible thumping idjits. oi. Just hope that they fizzle out. :bangyourh :achillpil :achillpil :achillpil That is my 'prescription for them. 3 chillpills.

Personally, I think this is a great idea. Just think: everyone who wants to live by strict Christian guidelines forms their own sub-country. Then, when someone complains about how they think gay marriage is sodomy, or wants to display the 10 Commandments in public, they can just move. Those left in America will be free of their intolerance. I wonder how they would respond to my support . . .

almost to the begining of Christianity. And believe it or not that type of thinking caused most of the different Christian sects to feud with one another. So if it isn`t gonna be one thing then it's another.

LOL! You have a point there. I live in Montgomery, AL (where the big 10 commandments debaucle happened) and I am soooooo sick of hearing about that! I don't care if Christianity is represented in a government building, but they better be darn well prepared to erect a statue of Buddha, a pentacle, etc.

It's not iilegal to seceed. If you can voluntarily join, you can voluntarily leave. I don't really know what Lincoln was thinking, he should have let them go and attempted to use embargo and trade incentives instead of war to abolish slavery.

Those people are terrifying. When fear of onself and envy of those who appear free of self loathing massquerade as righteous indignation there is no limit to the possibilities for evil. Hatred, when is does not come from soured love, is hardend envy. Not that fundies want to be homsexual, that's absurd, but I think deeply thy envy the freedom they imagine homosexuals feel. :fishtank: Sad, considering how hard life is for those who are not quite what is expected.

Whoa, sorry, this is reading more like an LJ blog than an MW post. Heh heh.

Heh... They came up on a political board I post on, and we all thought we should pool our money to send them to South Carolina. The SCers on the forums were kinda pissed, cuz they really didn't want them. I think we should let them have their own unihabited island, and they can do what ever they want. I'd feel kind of sorry for the kids though. :(

I wonder what South Carolinians would have to say about this. And why South Carolina in the first place?

But really, not worth the energy getting upset over - another example of extremism in religion.

Well if that actually did work, I see S. Carolina filling up fast. But here's what's funny, they are based in California, and they want to move to the opposite side of the continent? Sheesh, get an island. And how would they handle natural disasters like hurricanes (assuming that the state is taken over and withdrawn from the US). It seems like a pipe dream to me. Also sounds nutty like the KKK wanting to send all the minorities back to their home land.

Just weird to me.

:chattin: Why people would even argue over this annoys me. It's a waste of time and thought. They can do what they want, we can do what we want, that's my opinion. I have no problem with the Ten Commandments, and other than that, I don't care.

I guess there is a group of crazies in every bunch. But all of the things that they are purposing have already been done. They want to live in a small concentrated society full of rules that they make up on their own? Well we have such a place right here in America. It's called Amish Country. I think they should go join up. Then they will meet a group of people that even they are not god-fearing enough for. That would be fun to see!

P.S. I love and repect the Amish. No Amish were hurt in the making of this post.

The Amish are a lot better from these people. The Amish give their children a choice at a certain age whether or not they want to still live in the Amish society. The Amish are similar to the Jewish Orthodox or Hesedic sects. Except this is German Christian group.
There are other places that started a few years ago that slightly regressed in culture. not to the extent of the Amish. More like the 1930's or so.
If all the Christian groups did this i wouldn`t get upset over it. _firedevil

"Our schools continue to teach the discredited theory of Darwinian evolution"

While I do think they have every right to their opinion, when was Darwinian evolution discredited, or disproved. I mean if the scientific community had thrown away this theory I thought maybe I would have heard about it. Hmmm, let's get our facts straight shall we??? Also why South Carolina, yes it is a fairly religous state , but so are most of the other states in the south. Hmmm strange ( but not surprising) thanks for sharing.

Hmm....

"Religious freedom:

At no time in American jurisprudence has religious persecution been acceptable. Nor does ChristianExodus.org believe any tenets of the Christian faith promote persecution of other faiths. Our organization stands decidedly in favor of religious freedom and liberty for all human beings so long as their religious behaviors do not violate the God-given rights of others. Again, ChristianExodus.org will not support any efforts on the part of government to violate the unalienable right to freedom of religious belief. People of all faiths must have the same rights and freedoms guaranteed to them under law."

Also, I've been thinking, let's say the entire country goes "Christian Fundy" on us... why leave? Why not stay and fight, cause a huge stink, and bring the whole damn thing crashing to it's knees :D

I see nothing to get worked up over. For one thing, extremist groups usually don't get much popular support here in America. For another, dorks like this tend to hang themselves if you hang them enough rope. For a third, if they want to leave, show 'em the exit - and sever all diplomatic relations with them.
