Help me help my family to understand

I am a teenage girl who was raised in a traditional christian household but i dont share that belief. I have been getting into wicca recently and i believe that it is right for me but my family just wont understand. I dont know how to tell them and i don't want everyone from "my church" to get involved. It is my business and i know what is right for me. Christainity is so restrainig and judgmental. I want to abandon my christian upbringing and follow my own path but i have always been so close to my family that i know it will be hard. I hope someone can help.

You may not be able to change their minds, as you are following a path that their faith explicitly prohibits. Wicca will still be there when you are 18 and old enough to move out on your own if your family and "your church" try to intervene for the good of your soul. Patience is a virtue. You can pray to whomever you please without ever telling the world. I considered myself Wiccan for nearly 4 years under my parents' roof and they never knew my religion was any different from theirs.

NeferSesemet is right. Because you are still a minor living under your parent's roof, you still have to respect their wishes for you. You could always try to list the similarities between christianity and wicca, and if you ever feel comfortable enough, try to talk to your parents about exploring other beliefs. Many people are in the broom closet, you just have to make sure not to leave any books or anything lying around. don't be too sneaky about it though, because that can be suspicious. When you are on your own, you will be free to practice whatever beliefs you want to. If you need to talk, PM me.
