Many months ago, I posted on another pagan board. Being new to Paganism, I didn't really know how to inturpret a dream-ish experience I had, and I asked about it. I didn't really get any replies. . . So I"m re-posting what I had said, in the hopes that maybe someone knows.

I wasn't really sure where to post this question, but since this board is about Goddesses, I thought maybe someone here could help me.

I'm fairly new to Paganism (at least, in name. My beliefs have pretty much remained the same way for years, I just found a name to call them by). Not very long ago, I had this dream. . . there was a lot of light, and I could see the outline of a woman. She was tall and kind of slender, her hair was up in a loose knot on top of her head, and there was this kind of cloudy, almost windy (but not windy at the same time, like frozen wind) background. I couldn't see her face but I thought I heard her talk to me, and just before I woke up I had this incredible moment of clarity. I had been extremely stressed out until this dream, and then afterword I felt like. . . like I knew everything would turn out all right. Everything would work itself out like it was supposed to. And sometimes when I feel myself getting stressed or afraid or frantic, I think back to the dream and I can feel this tie to that sense of calm, and I can almost hear her voice again. The dream felt like so much more than a dream. It makes me wonder.

Do any of you know of a Goddess that would meet the description of the woman in my dream and the effects she had? I feel such a sense of power from her. She reminds me of how the Earth feels. . and at the same time she feels different. Any ideas? I'm not really sure what to think of her yet.

P.S. sometimes I try to think to the woman who was in my dream, along the tie line. The way she reacts to me is. . . almost like she's guiding a child. She looks stern or sometimes a little miffed or dissapointed, but I can just feel a laugh behind her eyes, a sort of "oh I miss that" feeling, something that finds a kind of sweet humor in how I react to her.

^^;; I realize this all may sound silly to some people but maybe someone knows what I'm talking about? Sorry if it's a bother. . .

I still can reach across the tie, and kind of sense her there. The tie isn't as strong as it was (as it's been months and I kind of forgot about it for a while). But I can still sense her, almost like she's keeping an eye on me. . . any clues? I wish I had a name or idea to refer to her by.

I also have a connection to the planet Jupiter. . . ever since I was a child I have felt like whenever it was visible in the sky, no matter what, it would protect me (especially when I was walking home late at night) and I would smile and talk to it and I felt a smile back. . . could the woman be connected to that?

Well, it's gonna be hard for us to help 'name' her cus there wasn't much in the way of a discription. Have you tried asking her what her name is? (in your dream or in a meditation) It might give you the answers you seek. Good luck!

the funny thing is, when I try to talk to her. . . I know she's talking, because her mouth moves and I hear her voice, demo.. . it's like, my heart understands what she's saying, and is content and knows, but my mind doesn't.

hmm. . . she wore this flowing. . . robe? I dono. .. it looked KINDA toga-ish.. . KINDA. . . not really, but that's the only thing I can think of similar, except tied over both shoulders, and made of something very light but not see-through. . . difficult to explain.

If I could describe her in relation to the other diety-type presences I've felt, I would say she felt like a combonation of the Earth, the Moon, and Jupiter. . . o.O;

Ok, well... maybe you could ask her to 'show' you her name next time? Or maybe ask her for more 'hints'? Something like symbols or colors or animals or something...

hmm. . . an animal? I know that if she was an animal, she'd be something graceful and soft-footed, something that could sneak up without you knowing it was there, and could just watch and smile at the world, like physical wind? lol only thing I can think of like that would be a cat.

D'ya suppose it could be Bast? :7 wouldn't that be something?

hmm. . . a colour? I would say pale. . . off-white and/or pale PALE pink (just barely pinker than off-white, not bright pink).

I ask her her name and I get a feeling of just a sort of chuckle. Not rude or malicious, of genuine amusement that I would ask. . . :confused: is that bad?

Well, I'm off to bed. . . I"ll try praying to her to see if she'll come again in a dream. She feels really distant and close at the same time. . .it's weird. :ugh:

ok something very weird and very freaky just happened.

I had been crying for about a half hour (long story. . . basically a few months ago my dad got a new girlfriend and I'm really happy for them and she's a very sweet lady, it's just I miss him coming home. . . he doesn't even come home in the morning anymore, he's there all night. He comes home to check his mail. . . *sigh* but that's another thread entirely. Anyways), and I started talking to my guardians and it was weird, I dono if it was because I was sad or what but every one of them felt cold and distant. . . and I tried reaching out to that goddess and part of my mind felt her as being distant, and part of my mind felt her as being concerned. I remember the colour purple.

And I started to sort of drift off a bit, when I heard this voice. . . I sometimes hear like this, just before I fall asleep, it's like an astral voice only you're so close to the astral that it sounds real at the same time. . . And her voice sounded both old and young at the same time and she said, kind of questioningly, "Jobeth". .. weird. She said it like "joe beeth". . . like the eh sound and the ee sound at the same time. And I knew it was something important and I got up and came here to write. i don't know if it was just her saying my name ("Beth") or if she was saying her name or if it was in another language and meant "are you alright?" or "I'm here" or what. . . it sounded somewhat concerned. I dono.

Well, thought I'd post that. . . now I'm going to bed, since I"m cold and really nasty shivvers are making my typing erratic.

I totally understand. I hear things like that too. Usually, it's someone calling my name. I always ask, "What?" (sometimes rather irritably!) but no one ever answers. Grrr! Oh well, I guess when they're ready to answer, they will. I'd be interested to hear if you figure it out though. Might help me out too. :)

no answer yet. . . although I *did* dream recently that my cat came back to life, and my brother's cat was wearing pants, and I was babysitting my best friend's daughter, who turned out to be the little girl I babysit that used to live across the street from me. . . all while in a library getting a book-on-tape version of "A Little Princess" for my boyfriend o.O;; LMAO

This woman actually might be the way I see the norse goddess Eir. . . she's been calling to me lately, and I think it actually is the same woman. It would make sense for me to see a healer in the way I did, though I guess she wouldn't fit the traditional inturpretation of what a Norse goddess should look like :D

I like the title of the thread, Puma. So after all this time, have you figured out the answer to your question? Do you think that the woman in your dream had any connections to Eir? Have you dreamed of this woman since that one time?

I am not sure if I've dreampt of the woman since that time. . . I don't think I have. But. . . I think she does have some connections to Eir. I'm not sure if this is truly the answer to my question. But I often try to compare the present to the past, see if any of the pieces I have now fit into the puzzle of yesterday. Maybe this does. . . . maybe it does. . .

Reading your post from a while ago, I saw no connection between Eir and the woman in your dreams. But then again, I really don't know Eir. lol. However, I believe you when you write that you think that the Goddess in your dream might be connected to Eir, because you have faith and believe so! :) Follow your natural instincts. Also, I think that it is good that you try to find some link between the present and past. The past affects the present, and the present affects the future.
