The same thing happened to me with my geometry teacher! He was an excellent teacher and very easy to understand, and actually helped me get math. I have been struggling with math for years so that is huge for me. They switched me out of his class and stuck me with this new teacher who nobody could understand at all.....anyway my mom emailed my counselor and arranged it so I was put back into the original teacher's class. Yay! So tell your parents about your problem with the new teacher and have them contact the school about it if you can. The least you can do is give it a try!

I have a history teacher who loves what he does. One of his favorite ways to teach is to have the students do classroom reinactments... they're all the more hilarious because of the expressions on the kids' faces.
It's a great class to end the school day. :D

My senior year psychology teacher was the best teacher I have ever had. She is the very reason I have become an education major. My goal in life is to care about my students as much as she cared about us. I still call her and I'm going to have lunch with her next time I go back to my hometown.

I've had quite a few teachers who really touched me, whom I really love... Mrs. Paulin, my grade 5 teacher, Mrs. Ratzlaff, my grade 6 teacher, Mr. Boujour, my grade 7 teacher (great years, those three)... Mr. Wait, Mr. Hoglund, Mr. Sak... all highschool teachers. (I have Mr. Sak and Mr. Hoglund this year. :D Cheers.)
I was lucky, actually, because I requested to be switched into Mr. Hoglund's class (I wasn't originally), and I was switched right away!! Very pleased. :D
I just wish I hadn't lost contact with the elementary school teachers... especially Mrs. Paulin, who got transferred and had to move away. I would give anything to thank her. Recently I've been seriously considering teaching as a career idea... and I know that if I ever do become a teacher, I'll have Mrs. Paulin to thank, among others.
Now I'm in a sentimental mood. :(
Hugs, anyone? :hugz: :hugz: :hugz:

You'd be surprised at how many teachers either don't like teaching, or don't know what the hell they're teaching. How infuriating!!! :fpatricks

Yep i have 3, all high school teachers. One was Mrs. Lewis, my english teacher I had for two years. Then there was Mr. Mason, who always made us laugh and actually taught algebra where I understood it, and then there was Ms. Daniels my psych teacher who was so funny. She taught us chants to help us remember stuff and told dirty jokes lol.

I need to go by the school and see if Mrs. Lewis is still there and if she remembers me.

My senior AP English teacher was quite possibly the best teacher I'd ever had for anything. She was amazing. She and I were a lot alike, actually, in our senses of humor, our love of literature, and our capacities for emotion and compassion. She really made me indulge in my personal adoration of classical literature, and in her class, I really developed as a person and as a writer. You would be amazed at how much regular old classical literature can affect your life if you let it. :) I loved that class. It was well worth the wait to get to it.

Well it has been many years since i was in school but there are 2 that stick out in my mind.
First was my 1st grade teacher and i had no cule how lucky i was... She has taught all of my brothers and sisters and still did not expect anyone of us to be like the other. and always made it a point to know each of us on a personal lvl to be able to teach us better.. Thank you Mrs. Williams.
Second was my High School Lit Teacher .. Mr. Weaver he chose to teach life lessons through his assignments, I was much more prepared to face life after his class.

I had a fantastic teacher in high school. She taught Contemporary Literature and English. She was so open-minded, creative, and engaging. She really knew how to involve students.
For instance, after we read the play Medea, we held a trial. We actually put Medea on trial. Students were assigned roles like attorneys, clerks, jury, judge, and, of course, the characters from the play. Everyone always looked forward to her class. She befriended me and I learned a lot from her. She even gave me my first tarot deck. I think I was like 15.
Medea was acquitted by the way.

My English Lit teacher did that too, but for Frankenstein.

That was why I got swtiched back to my original geometry teacher.....the new teacher, Ms. Mefford, did NOT know what she was doing.....and if I don't get it, and the teacher doesn't get it.......man does it stink.

I can think of 2. My 6th grade english teacher, who everyone seemed to hate, but he didn't seem bad to me, and he was a damn good teacher.
The other is a teacher I had in college, FUNNY AS HELL, he would do stupid crazy stuff, you'd be laughing and goofing off so much, then the test comes around, and it's like HOLY *#^# I learned something!?!? I love that :D
