Smudging

The term "smudging" has been coming up everywhere whenever I do research on my stones... but what exactly is it and how do you do it? Thanks!

Smudging is, I think, when you burn sage to purify yourself before a ritual.
Not much to do with crystals or stones, though ;)

actually if they are talking about smudgeing the stones; they are referring to purifying them by passing them through the smoke of incense or sage. Just another way to clean off those little unwanted vibes.

smudging is a great way to cleanse crystals with the element of air. Lavender and sandlewood are another couple of herbs that cleanse well. while passing the crystal thru the smoke, its good to say or think, while visualising, all negative energy leaving the crystal.
for a really deep cleanse i place on the earth over night.
rain water or salt water is another of my favorites to cleanse.
