Hi i just got (http://www.mysticwicks.com/showthread.php?p=1267751#post1267751)a new athame, actually, it's my first one XD so I was wondering what people did to consecrate their athames, and otherwise make it "theirs"? I'm trying to get some ideas of what i should do, and would just like to hear about everyone elses experiences :)

Here's a ritual for tool concencration(either athame or wand).I used it for my wand and I assure you it is very powerful. It was very interesting doing this ritual and while I took my wand into my arms at the end it felt to full of energy!
Here it is:
Tool Consecration Ritual
Cast the circle. Place the tool you would like to consecrate on your altar pentacle. Press down on the tool with your projective hand (left if you're left-handed, right if you're right-handed) and say:
"I consecrate you, O knife of steel (or wand of wood, etc.)
To cleanse and purify you to serve me within the Circle.
In the names of the Mother Goddess and Father God,
You are consecrated."
Sprinkle tool with salt, sprinkle with water, pass through incense, and pass through candle flame.
While doing these things chant:
"You are dedicated to the Great Work."
Place tool on pentacle and say:
"I charge you, O Athame (or Wand, etc.), that you serve me
As a strength and defense in all magical operations,
Against all my enemies, visible and invisible.
I conjure you anew by the Name of [patron Goddess] and the Name of [patron God]
I charge you, O Athame, that you serve me
As a protection in all adversities.
So mote it be."
Hold tool in both hands to the sky and say:
"I charge you by the Old Ones:
By the omnipotent Goddess and God:
By the virtues of the Sun, Moon, and Stars:
By the powers of Earth, Air, Fire, and Water,
That I shall obtain all that I desire whenever I use you.
Charge this by Your power, Old Ones!"
Embrace tool against your chest.
Close the circle.
