Er...
What are you talking about? Are you looking for a spell that'll evoke a genie to pop out of somewhere to grant you wishes or something? You're going to be looking for a long, long time, because that's not very likely to happen. Life is not a Disney movie, nor is it a Terry Goodkind novel.
Now, if you were looking for something to evoke the djinn, that'd be something different. You don't want to try and work with Elementals if you're not in a circle, unless you have an extraordinary gift with the fey ones or else you're a very experienced practitioner of magic. Why don't you explain what you're really trying to do here, and then we can go from there?

Hmm, here's an old spell I heard about:

With red paint (or maybe your own blood) inscribe an "L" on your forehead.

Then, get a few red candles (they could be white) and put them around you in a circle. Focus on the "L" on your forehead for an hour or so until you start getting tired. (I think the focusing should help you with the third eye or something.)

Now, after doing that, go outside and see if people react to you differently. If some people point at you (and maybe laugh), that means that the spell was successful.

After this, you should wait at least nine hours for your 'genie' to appear.

Good luck!

I tend to shy away from working directly with the djinn, as they are an exceedingly fickle form of elemental spirits--actually, they are considered a very powerful type of faery in some lore. Even more dangerous and far easier to insult than the Tuatha de Danann, from what I've heard. I would not recommend working w/those particular elementals until you are quite advanced in your path, and knowledgeable in which of the djinn you are evoking, and what it is you want...and whether or not you really want it. There is a very old saying: "Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it."

djinn?

Basically, the djinn are a type of Fire Elemental that are Middle Eastern in origin. They are considered to be a type of evil demon in Arabic legends, connected to the "devil" archetype found in religions worldwide, as the highest of the djinn is considered to be the devil. They are made of fire, obviously, and they're mutable and occasionally are thought to take on different forms to influence and manipulate humans. They have a ton of rules which humans are to follow if they want to work with them, and they're quite temperamental and will get rather nasty if someone breaks one of their rules.
Going on that alone...why would you even want to think about messing with them, let alone without the protection of a circle? That is, quite simply, idiocy. These are not big blue cloudy things with the voice of Robin freaking Williams. You don't rub a lamp and these guys grant your wishes. Elementals don't work that way, let alone ones as volatile as the djinn. Why do you want to mess with one of these guys? What are you hoping to gain? :whatmewor

Not to criticize or anything, but people that have just learned how to drive shouldn't consider themselves ready to race Nascar, now should they? I have no idea how in depth your experience in magick is, but since you don't even know the name of the deity you are invoking, it seems to me that you are jumping the gun a bit.

Please remember that spell work is not for riches and fame and all that movie glorification that has stereotyped us in the past and continues to do so. I encourage you to a bit of research on paganism, wicca, or whatever path you choose to follow.

I'm sorry to lecture, but I feel it is necessary to approach these things with extreme caution, only because I care.

Good luck!

I have to agree with what the others have said. You should do a good amount of research on what you want to do before you should even attempt it. Working within a circle is always a good idea, even if you don't think you need it, a little extra caution never hurt anyone. Could I ask what you want to accomplish by invoking a djinn? From the information given here, I would hope it's something really important, otherwise it doesn't seem worth it.

Well if the first two wishes come true, Why not wish for a thousand more wishes when making your third wish. ;)

(how many wishes coulda a wisher wish if a wisher could wish wishes ?)

I wish ya luck on this endevor ,

Come on guys... no need to be rude!

Pan... I'm reading into what youve said a little, but I'm guessing that you're looking for the whole three wishes thing, right?

There are better and easier ways to go about changing your life, with and without magic. Calling on a djinn is like playing russian roulette with an automatic pistol!

What is it that you want to 'wish' for? What path do you follow?

Pan, I was jk in my post above. If you are indeed serious about this, then take into consideration what Cielamara and
Faerin and Raivynne said.

I've been practicing circle casting for several months now, and I'm not even going to consider raisng energy in a circle until I am totally convinced I can handle it. Let alone evokation.

Learn the basics. Practice them until they are second nature.
Read a book that covers your path, then reread it.

Thanks for the cyber slap, I deserved it I suppose lol.
I'm just in a weird mood tonight.
