Scar/birthmark/etc as Third Eye?

Can anyone enlighten me on this subject? I have so often heard, and been told, that a scar, birthmark or other mark on the point of the Third Eye between ones brows, indicates spiritual/clairvoyant etc abilities.

But why? Is it the mark itself that aids the abilities? Is it a "sign" from beyond that there are abilities... what? I know that pressure on the point can activate the ability/open the Third Eye- is it then that the mark is a permanent activation...? Anyone know why/where this belief originated? Is it maybe from India where they mark the point with colour?

...and yes, I do have a Third Eye marking.

A scar or birthmark at the position of your third has a deep meaning. I'll try to explain.

It means that you have a scar or birthmark on your brow. It may have been due to an injury even as an infant. It could be because the OBGYN had greasing fingers and the clamps slipped while he/she was trying to get them around your temples.

A bump on the top of your head means that someone dropped you as a small child.

What I'm saying (all kidding aside), is that it has no particular metaphysical meaning. Our lives are not guided by every move we make. We have free will.

Karma is the "Universal Law that brings to you the people and situaltions you need in order to learn that which you do not Know" (from the book Right Use of Will).

Prior to our birth, we choose what it is we need to work on. The specifics of how we do it, are left to our free will.

Everyone is psychic to a greater or lesser degree. It is not our "destiny" to psychic. It is an ability that we have worked on throughout our lifetimes.

Very psychic people look like anybody else. We are tall and short; slim and round; of any race, creed, or color.

Gypsies are not "better"" at it than the rest of use. We carry no "marks" that would make us stand out in a crowd.

Some are born with birthmarks. Some are not. My Mom was very psychic. She had a mole on the back of her neck. Her Mother and Grandmother were also very psychic and had no markes, scars, or moles.

There's a theory that birthmarks, particularly large ones, point to the wound that killed you in a prior life. But I sincerely hope that's not true... :lol: I don't want to know /what/ I did to end up with a wound on my privates!

Lady A- thank you for your post, but I was not looking for opinions or whether or not it is true- I was just looking for the origin of this belief. I have heard it so many times, that I got curious as to where it comes from.

The mark of cain is said to be on the third eye - but most people believe that it is invisible to the human eye (only seen spiritually) - but some do think its a physical mark
