A pentacle support thread for Kanelea

Alrighty, I promised my dear friend Kanelea I'd do this for her. Why, you may ask? Because Kanelea has a problem. You see she is a contradiction. She is a Pagan and yet she is afraid of the pentacle. I don't know why, but she says it scares her. She wants to overcome this fear, and has been trying hard to. So how about it Mystic Wickers? Show Kanelea some love by giving her some encouragement. Give her some advice, post pictures of cute non-threatening pentacles. WE BELIEVE IN YOU, KANELEA!!!!! DO IT FOR FAT VIOLET!!!!!!!!!!

To be honst though, I only wear my pentacle for ritual, I wear a goddess necklace for basic "Hey I'm pagan" identification..... I do this for two reasons, one I know others think the pentacle is scary and I don't want to scare people and two, I like the idea of keeping the pentacle sacred and for ritual only...doing so helps me to get into that altared state of conciousness when i put on that pentacle.....

I love pents but if your friend doesn't don't consider it a big deal........she doesn't have to like them.

is there any particular reason that she doesnt like them? is it because of all the sharp corners for example? (laugh if you want people, but i know someone who doesnt like the pentacle for just that reason)

I really don't know why she doesn't like them, and I don't think its a big deal if she doesn't like them, but she wants to get over this fear.

Oh she wants to get over the fear! OK, I get it! Is it fear of the pentical itself or fear of what others would think if she wears one? She don't have to wear it out, she can hide it under her shirt.

thats a good idea. if she wants to get over it, get her a pentacle that doesnt look so traditional, maybe thatll help.

Wow, Padma, I didn't think you were actually going to make a thread ^^. Thank you everyone for the great sugestions. I think the reason why I am so afriad of them is I am afriad that I am wrong about everything i believe in. I do own a penticale and wore until my brother approched me about it. I just don't like saying HI I'm a pagan to everyone I meet. I just wish I was more secure about it. I think I will take your advice on getting a penticale that looks like something else. A flower would be cute and less conspictuous. Thanks again all of you are wonderful.

There are 2 pentacles that don't really look like pentacles. I just googled "flower pentacle" with images and they came up.

I'm still not understanding why you are afraid of them...is it because of the visibilty of them? That people might constantly question or bother you? If that is why, why not get a smaller pentacle? I wear one pentacle...it's a ring I got from Spencer's of all places. The pentacle is way smaller than a dime even. OR like someone above suggested, wear it under your shirt. Now, if it's for other reasons...don't know if I can give you any advice there!!

And now that I read back you say "I think the reason why I am so afriad of them is I am afriad that I am wrong about everything i believe in." Do you believe you are wrong in that your path is wrong? Or that the information you have about your path is wrong? If you think it's because of you're wrong for being on this path--STOP THINKING THAT RIGHT NOW!!!! No one is ever wrong, no matter what path they are on..whether it be Pagan, Christian, Buddha, Hindu, etc. And don't let people tell you otherwise. You have just as mush right to be a Pagan as they have to be whatever they are.

"I just don't like saying HI I'm a pagan to everyone I meet." Hon, no one says you have to. If you feel like you have to wear a pentacle, because it makes you feel more secure or one with your faith, then wear it. And if you don't questions asked or to announce you're a Pagan, then wear it under a shirt. People notice less then you think. Unless they are on a mission to look for other pentacle wearers, then most people probably won't even see it. Unless you're wearing one the size a car hood ornament around your neck. Trust me, I've seen this happen!! But it's mostly rebellious-teens-trying-to-scare-the-public type people and when you tell them "Merry Meet" they look at you like you're the freak.
