Merry Meet
The below lesson was sent to me by e-maila and I really wanted to share it with you so here it is:
VISION STATEMENT

To be a Beacon of Light in the Darkness of fear, ignorance and limitation.

To bring choice that is the healing power of inspired information,

to all who would know themselves as Souls.

To Educate in the ways of Soul - which is Equal To, Intuitive and Whole.

To alleviate suffering, and to free humans to their

Love, Peace and innate Wisdom.

To Leave a Legacy of Light.

I want to share the tools with you. The tools are simple, and powerful. I want to connect to you and give you this gift from me. Then, I would like to take your training further but only if you consider continued study with the Academy. There are absolutely no obligations at all, no strings. If you trash the lessons in your recycle bin that's fine. If you gain from the lessons but don't follow up with any other studies, that is also perfectly fine.

I get to expand my database, speak to more people, I get to enjoy the sharing of what I love to do, with people who are interested and I get to grow some long term relationships with new students.
You get valuable information, tips and easy to use exercises to grow your intuition, you get a connection to The Academy of Metaphysics and possibly a road to further study with us, and only if you want more. So let's begin...

A reminder that these lessons are free, but that copyright still exists, no unauthorised copying and distribution of these documents is permitted. Enjoy the lessons.

LESSON ONE

WEEK ONE

A female psychologist in her late twenties wakes up in the early hours of the morning, she is inexplicably concerned about her younger sister. She feels so upset by the onslaught of emotion, that she cannot go back to sleep, later that morning she receives a phone call with tragic news, her younger sister has been found unconscious and near to death, lying on the side of a road, having barely survived a car accident. How did she know that something was wrong?

A pragmatic interior decorator endeavoring to build her own business loses a R10 000 cash cheque. She hunts for it all day to no avail, until eventually, despite her scepticism, she feels pushed by desperation to use intuition to solve her crisis. She closes her eyes and calls out to the empty room, "Please help me!" and as if to answer her cry, she receives the sudden impression that the cheque is in her son's car. She doubts whether this is true, but follows up anyway, she calls her son who finds the cheque under his driver seat. How did she know?

A mother's two-year-old daughter is critically ill and doctors seem unable to find a reason, the mother senses what is wrong. X-rays confirm her intuitive diagnosis: this was me. How did I know? I'll tell you how.

These three examples are true experiences. Most people will tell you that intuitive moments have occurred in their lives - moments of insight, flashes of inexplicable clarity defying conventional understanding. Yes intuition is real and yes it is fallible, and yet despite its nebulous nature - it has been known to change lives. So instead of waiting for your intuitive insights to arrive randomly and with scarcity; why not develop this skill yourself? Can you imagine what having a more fully developed and reliable intuition would do for you?

1. What is intuition?

Intuition is the ability to perceive beyond the boundaries of the physical senses.
Intuition is your inner guidance system.
Intuition is a valuable tool.
Intuition can be aligned to serve your ego, or it can be aligned to serve your higher purpose, heart and soul.
Intuition is real.
According to the dictionary. INTUITION

a. The act or faculty of knowing or sensing without the use of rational processes; immediate cognition. b. Knowledge gained by the use of this faculty; a perceptive insight.

b. A sense of something not evident or deducible; an impression.

2. What intuition is not?

Intuition is not tangible and easily measurable.
Intuition is not just good rational logical conclusions and deductions.
Intuition is not just good guess work.
Intuition is not fortunetelling (in the sense of β€˜party trick' style predictions). Though intuition can be used to read potential future timelines.

OTHER WORDS associated with intuition: Hunch, instinct, insight, sixth sense, Extrasensory perception, psychic ability, inklings.

3. Is intuition a learned skill or is it innate?

Intuition is natural. I am yet to meet someone who isn't naturally intuitive. Children often display their intuitive skill with ease. Intuition is natural and is a part of being human. It is innate and can be developed further.

4. What is an intuitive?

An intuitive, is a person who has heightened intuitive abilities. Professional intuitives are paid for their intuitive insights and deepened perceptions. For example a Medical intuitive is someone who specialises in using intuition to diagnose illness and read the physical body intuitively for information pertaining to health and wellness. World renowned examples of medical intuitives are Caroline Myss and Barbara Ann Brennan. Intuitive counsellors use intuition to guide and assist people in understanding themselves and their lives with the added insight gained from their intuition. The Academy of Metaphysics trains intuitives.

5. The most common mistakes made by people trying to use their intuition

Which mistakes are you making?

Visuals: Some people think that to get intuitive insight that they must meditate or close their eyes and look for information. Then some get visuals and battle to understand what they mean OR others can't visualise and then feel frustrated and give up all their inner work!
The good news is that real intuitive work and most of our meditative work is NOT VISUALISATION based. No visuals are required. In fact we encourage students to focus away from their HEAD based info which includes visuals and towards their BODIES with is based on feelings, sensations and thoughts (e.g. inner dialogue). Visuals can be intuitive but are usually symbolic. Symbolic information has value within itself but needs interpretation and can be confusing, especially if you don't know whether what you are seeing is literal (real) or symbolic (figurative, representative of reality). So skip the visuals, go for other sources of inner information.

Living in the head: We escape to the mind, we live in our heads. We rely on logic and reasoning, analysing and deductive thought. Like a mouse running on a wheel, our minds churn thought. This busy, day to day thinking is all consuming. To access your intuition, you must learn to draw your attention away from the busy mind and into your body. You don't need to still the mind, you can use your mind, but in a different way. By learning to place your attention and awareness inside of your body and away from your head, you will find it easier to centre, be still and be relaxed enough to access your intuition more easily.
Trying too hard: Too much effort kills intuitive insight. Trying takes you into the mind. You need to relax, and be in a peaceful state of being.
Not being relaxed: stress, tension and fear takes your body OUT OF TUNE with your intuition. Like being tuned into one radio station and then finding a new dial setting. Stress and fear have your inner dial setting jammed on the inner radio station of fear and survival. By relaxing you will help your body to tune into different radio stations. Isn't it true that many of your AHA moments or insight happen when you are relaxed, walking in nature, resting in bed, in a bath, taking a long or relaxing drive etc.
Thinking that you are making it up: true intuitive insights don't sound weird, feel radical or seem very noticeably different in any way. It's not Hollywood! There are no bells and whistles, no neon lights. Just simple, deep thoughts and feelings, thoughts that flow to your mind that may sound just like your own, but offer new perspectives, ideas that make sense, insights that feel right etc.
RECOGNISE THE COMMON FACTORS BEHIND YOUR MOST INTUITIVE MOMENTS

Knowing what is in common with people's intuitive insights will help you to watch out for your intuitive inner guidance system with more vigilance. It will also assist you to discern between the inner voice of your ego and the voice of your intuition (which are different).

Please look back at your life and make a mental or written list of all the intuitive moments you have had. They can be as simple as knowing who was calling when the phone rang (caller ID is cheating), or having a feeling that you should call a loved one, being concerned and then finding out later that your feelings were valid. Have you ever had the feeling not to trust someone and had your feelings validated? Do you seem to instinctively know what others are feeling sometimes? Make a list of these moments, and then look for what was in common with your experiences. Then move on with the lesson.

THE COMMON FACTORS USUALLY ARE:

Real and natural intuition has the following important factors in common.

o Intuition is internal not external

o It happens within you. Intuition speaks to you through your inner thoughts, your feelings, your body's sensations. It does not come at you from the outside world. It's not like reading a book, where the information is outside of you and you are separate, reading it at a distance. YOU READ YOUR INTUITIVE INFORMATION INSIDE OF YOU! This is why it is important to start PAYING ATTENTION to you INNER WORLD, to your feelings, thoughts and the subtle nuances that occur within your body.

o Intuition is closer to feeling, sense and knowing than reason and logical thought

o Intuition is not in the head, it is not logical or rational thought, it is not left brained. Intuition does not feel like ordinary thoughts that pass through your mind, intuitive insights and intuitive thinking FEELS different. It is concise, deep, has a sense about it, seems to be in your body more than in your head, jumps directly to answers without going through logical steps of working out a conclusion, is right brained based, is abstract and can be subtle at times.

o The inner voice of your True Intuition won't argue with you or try to be right

o Only the ego tries to argue with you. Your ego voice can argue with your intuition.

Intuition is closer to feelings, than to ordinary thinking.

6. Is intuition fallible?

Yes.

Don't try to convince yourself that yours or anyone's intuitive insights are always accurate and infallible. Intuition is fallible. Intuition is subjective, it is not objective. All intuitive insights must pass through your own internal filters of ego, fear and past conditioning, they are translated by your own mind and therefore can be mistranslated.
Don't go to the extreme of losing your discernment, keep your feet on the ground and use intuition as a fantastic tool to gain new insights and new perspectives.
Don't go to the other extreme of disregarding the value and power of intuition just because it doesn't fit into a neat little box of rational, logical, objective ideals.

Your intuition is deep, real and valuable, in fact you will find that the more accurate intuitives in the world are the ones that don't pretend to be 100% accurate, they will use their heightened perceptual skills to gain more information and more insight but will admit to sometimes getting the "translation" wrong, or misinterpreting what they are receiving.

YOU ARE ALREADY INTUITIVE!

1. FIRST STEP to developing intuition –

Metaphysically speaking: "Expand your awareness and learn to consciously direct your awareness on command"

In plain English: "Pay attention to your body. Stop living above your shoulders."

This may sound like a very simple idea but I can assure you that it is the first and most critical step. All truth has a simplicity about them. I have trained hundreds of students and if they simply learn to direct their awareness away from the HEAD and into the BODY, most specifically the stomach and chest area, they manage to wake their intuition.

In our society of rushing and information overload, we have all of our conscious awareness focused in on our senses sight, sound, then smells, touch and taste. There is very little room on our β€˜bandwidth' for intuitive perception. Only every now and again, does it randomly happen that something in our "gut" feel of things catches our attention and offers information.

By learning to take your attention consciously and often to your body, you can expand your awareness, refine your sensitivity to new information coming in and develop your intuition.

Your body is a powerfully intuitive instrument. It is designed to receive and translate information of all types. Usually it uses intuition for survival information (i.e. is it safe? Which chair should I sit on? Who in this room is safe to stand near? Can I trust this, etc) This survival use of intuition happens mostly unconsciously, by learning to consciously pay attention to your body more you will learn to consciously direct your intuition AND you will be able to use your body's natural intuitive abilities for more than basic survival data.

Developing your intuition is essentially:

learning to expand your awareness and
learning to consciously direct it to where you want to gain deeper insight and more information
HOW TO TAKE YOUR AWARENESS INTO YOUR BODY?

Whatever you direct your ATTENTION to, that is what you are aware of.
What ever your awareness is directed to, that is what your body is connected to intuitively and your body will start to receiving information from the thing you have your attention on (regardless of distance). It's very simple!

For example, right now take your ATTENTION and your AWARENESS to your right foot. Take a moment or two to FEEL your right foot. Don't visualise it, don't look at it, but FEEL your right foot. As if you can feel the heaviness of the foot, the skin, bones, etc. The moment you visualise the foot you will go to your head, so stay in the FEELINGS of your foot.

o The moment you draw your attention and awareness to your foot, your body will centre and you will move out of the mind.

o It will take a few secs or more to take your attention to your foot and will require focus to hold your attention there for any extended period. It does take a few moments to focus your awareness.

o Your foot may have felt any or all of the following with your attention and awareness focused on it. Tingly, more alive, heavier, lighter, energised, etc.

The moment you focused your awareness on your foot, you where in DIALOGUE with it's energy and consciousness. YOU WERE TUNED INTO IT!

Do the same exercise, relax, breathe, perhaps close your eyes for more focus (but not to go into the head or visuals)!!! Then focus on your foot and them move your awareness up your leg SLOWLY (to get the focus right) and let it rest in various parts of your body, comparing what the different parts FEEL like. Focus your awareness on your stomach area, your chest and your throat. Compare how they all feel. Which seems to be the most energised? Which seems the most calm? Are there any emotions surfacing in the chest or throat if you focus there long enough?

If you loose your focus, just bring it back. Don't stress, relax and play with this awareness exercise.

HOMEWORK – I suggest that to get the full benefit of these classes that you spend at least a week practising DIRECTING YOUR ATTENTION and AWARENESS at will to your body, and to various parts of your body. Notice the changes, notice when fear comes up, notice when you feel emotion etc. See what thoughts pop up with the various feelings.
