And I mean spirit guide as in a human-like spirit, not an animal.

Male. Its a baby chaos dragon from what I can tell ^_^ quite the character! I found him perched on the top of my head. While I was at the computer. ^_^ it was quite cool. His name is Rudy.

I met mine the first time I did a Shamanic Journey. I knew that she was female before that but I found it really cool when I actually got to meet her. Her name is Anna. And she gave me alot of interesting information on that day. Now I look forward to talking to her each and every time i get to.

The only spirit guide I have presents herself as a dragon because at the time I wouldn't have trusted her as a human. I think she comes to me in the form I am most likely to accept and trust her in.

Mine is male. He showed himself to me a couple of times when I was a teenager, but I didn't know who he was and I just thought he was a figment of my own imagination. Many years later after I had left Christianity and started learning about Paganism I did a guided meditation to find my spirit guide and there he was!

Im not sure if i have a spirit guide, however i have met more than one spirit or something on a number of occasions.
When i tried to contact a guide the first time (this was ages ago, probably well over a year) it was an old woman.
I remember walking down a lane or path and there were vegetation (trees or bushes) around me, i was following the direction of the moon, which was very bright. As i got deeper into the woods i came near a river and there was a bridge over it. As i got nearer i saw her. What was memorable about it was that she was calling me over, when i got to her she gave me a small golden box. I remember opening it and inside i saw the face of a clock. I cant remember the time but it was really vivid. She told me i had to go an i remember going back to the path. I still wonder what that meant.

On another occasion, this time with the aid of a CD of shamnic drumming, i remember as i was entering a hole at the bottom of a tree, i kept falling until i got very deep. I entered a white bright room, and as i went i came to an opening which led out to a very dark place. I was outside somewhere, it was a reddish blue sky and it seems rocky. There was a figure there, i assume it was male. He told me his name, and i saw him a couple of times, but i cant remember his name. Its so frustrating. I was told something, but being so early on in my awakening i never paid attention to it. Also why i cant remember his name.
Another spirit was mostly in my dreams. This time it is female. And she is so familiar.
However she comes in many scenarios and at different ages. What made me know it was the same girl as the other occasions was when in a vivid dream she came to my door. For some reason i was arguing with a neighbour, and i violently attacked him with a knife, i was so calm through this attack. It was so strange, because im sure there was a meaning to this dream. All throughout this she just stood there not part of the dream or the event, jsut watching. Any way i remember just accepting her there as if i knew her so well. Which is why im sure she has been around me alot.
However in that dream she was only about 13 years old. Other times she is about the same age as me. other times older. But im sure it is the same person.

So im not sure which if any is my spirit guide, whether they are all the same spirit with many guises. Or are totally unrelated or just a figment of my imagination. However my problem is i didnt stick at it. This has given me a good reason to try more often. Starting with tonight ;)

i don't know if i have a human-like spirit guide, and i don't know the gender of my animal spirit (a hawk, by the way). I see my hawk guide on a regular basis, usually when i'm really stressed out about something.

My spirit guide is male, he was a native american shaman in life. I met him at a house I used to live in when i was very little. Apparently (and this is the truth!) they built the houses over an old native burial ground! :S He wasn't mad about it though, I think he felt that it was the way things go... something is put somewhere and something else in time gets put over it. He's a very great guy:)

In all truth, I think my spirit guide appears as whatever gender it feels suits the moment. Sometimes it's a distinctly feminine presence, and other times decidedly masculine....most often it is really quite androgynous.

I have a lot of spirit guides, and Gods know I need them. My primary (and by primary I mean the one I've had since I was a child) appears to me in a female angel form. I also have a female tiger and a female woman of sorts along with a male wolf and a male guide. Each one focuses on aspecific task and lesson with me, and each means something different and special to me, their gender while interesting is basically irrelivant, except for in the cases of my primary angel guide and my male companion. My primary angel guide's gender has significance to me because she is strength and fairness. She shows me that women can and are strong. One of the greatest strengths is in one's ablity to have commassion and sympathy for everyone and everything, and not just friends and family but for enemies and those generally disliked too. My male guide is the one to teach me and remind me of unconditional love. He reminds me of what it means to love and care infinately and unconditionally. His gender is crucial to me because he came and reminded me of this lesson at a time when I was very nervous around men. He is a daily reminder to me of what exactly it means to be unconditional and he is the first to comfort me when I am in distress.

I have two spirit guides, one is female and has revealed to me her name and that she is an elf/faery. The other is male, and human. His name I do not know. I gave my daughter, Sabra, my female guides name as her Spirit Name, or Secret name, whatever you want to call it. I believe that this guide has helped me in many, many times of need and dispair, and that she somehow brought me out of the hardest time ever and to my husband, which quickly resulted in our daughter.

I have several in various forms.

The main guy is named "Micheal" but the others come and go.

The human type ones from what I can tell are mostly "boys" as in male, and I believe mostly gay males at that...Don't ask me why but I get the distinct impression that I have a chorus of angelic drag queens looking after me...

They can hear them sometimes in my mind making these absolutely crazy comments. They all think I'm far too conservative and not nearly working hard enough on the "love" thing, but they all agree that I have excellent taste in men when I do happen to think about sex, dating, et all...

It's a little disconcerting because sometimes I think they are prettier and funnier and more "girly" than "I" am, but I can't quibble much because if nothing else they make me laugh, and I know they love me...

I have not met them but I feel they are a she. A female to balance my being male in this life. One needs balance in ones lives and not only in terms of gender since in this life I'm bisexual. I feel the need to truely see from a different view point gender does enter into it. Also perhaps species and spiritual outlook as well. I feel more connected with a opposite to balance me. And as to only one opposite well its a misnomer to think there are only to poles. Two directions. Two ends to a path. I believe I travel many paths at once and each going in many directions at once. But always keeping balance in all things.

My boyfriend can sense Grey (I call my spirit guide Grey, because I don't know his true name yet) and since he doesn't have his own spirit (at least he thinks so) he's jelaous ;)

My guide is a fae by a name that she wishes me not to reveal. Something about opposing guides. Idk. She said something like that. Well, she has a golden glow and wears green clothing with green eyes and hair. In my past life meditation, I caught a glimpse of her in the "movie" of my past life in which I was a Fae. I asked her what she was doing in there and she told me that was for me to answer, not her. So, it's pretty interesting.

Also, are you talking about gender or physical sex? The two are quite seperate (one a social construct and one a physiological one).

But, my non-human spirit guide, Bison is quite androgynous in all aspects. Sometimes I get the female vibe, sometimes I get the male. It encompasses both sexes.

There are lots of ways one can meet a spirit guide. You can do so purposefully (following a guided meditation, doing your own meditation, a ritual inviting your spirit, etc.), or it can be completely out of the blue. For example, with me it was completely out of nowhere. I was doing just a simple meditation to bring me down from the day, and there it came, out of nowhere, and it's been with me ever since and very strongly.

Um, I don't know exactly if I have a spirit guide (Sylvia Browne says every does, is that true?). But I have a thing with the name Gabriel. It came to me in a dream oh about 3 years ago--Gabriel was a man (my age) and he just sat at a piano with me and talked...it was very calming. I thought he was an angel, so I got into the angel Gabriel after...I still love the name and I would even name my child Gabriel. So if that was my spirit guide (any thoughts?) than he would be a male.
