I have never had any recollections of a previous life...I tend to think I'm a new soul. For those of you who have had a previous life, who were you? _witchball

I remember some medium or other saying that everyone who claims to have lived before thinks they were Cleopatra or Shakespeare or someone really grand...I think if I lived before, I was probably someone's maid or something. I don't think I was ever anything grand!
But I haven't actually tried to see my past lives...I feel as though there's at least one though, I was considering a past lives meditation this Samhain. i'll be very interested to read what people post here. :)

I was a dinosaur four times.
Only kidding. I make noses that most of my friends and family think dinosaurs would sound like. It’s one of the many ways I talk to myself. So I’ve been saying I was dinosaur in a past life for a long long time.

I have a druid friend who says he must have been a dinosaur in his previous life. Must be some wacky memories there :hehehehe:

Don't know. But I tend to think this is one my first tries at being female lol
I do know that I committed suicide last go round. So I think this life is kind of a 'do over', in which I have to redo my last lesson, plus some...and complete it without taking the same route again.
How would I know that? I have the scar to remind me. There have been many points in this life where I have wanted to give up and get out. The only way that has ever been fathomable to me, is slitting my wrists. Each time I've pondered or prepared for it...I go to my right wrist, and see that damn scar. I then get really frickin mad, because I know I can't do it. I am not willing to put myself through these lessons from scratch in another life, and have more tacked on as a bad karma throw back.
I remember when I was little, trying to figure out where it came from. How it got there. No one knew, not my parents..not me. And believe me, if that scar came from a cut in this life....everyone would remember it as the day I died or nearly died. It's light, thin, and straight, not rigid at all. Unmistakeably from a razor blade.
I've thought about past life regression...and then thought better of it. I don't think I'd like to remember the me and things that me went through that ended in suicide.

A couple other things that popped into my head. I was a cat once, I think in the 50s actually.
And I'm almost positive I was buried, alive, in a mass grave at night in a camp by a dude with a swastika (yeah, can't spell that lol) on a band around his arm.

I'm definitely not a new soul, but all I know is that I think I was a wolf or a wild dog once, and a guy a a lot of times, and once I died by drowning in the ocean. I think I killed myself once too. And I think I screwed up majorly in a past life, cause I sure am paying for it in this one.

I'm an old soul. I feel more connected with the old ways and have found myself lamenting their loss very deeply lately.
Interesting that people think that they were once an animal or two. I can see that. Maybe a wolf; I really identify with they organize and run their 'society'. I must've been a frog sometime recently though because that's the only way I seem to be able to swim! :hehehehe:

i don't know what i was in my past lives, but i know i have had some, probably quite a few... When I was little i would have dreams taking place in the past, but i didn't know much about those eras. I don't remember any of my dreams though... All I remember is something about ancient egypt at one point or another... I have this board game called Past Lives, but I've never played it. I'm not even sure the box is open. Has anybody played this? Is it interesting? (semi- off topic)

I'm pretty sure I was a cat based on a freaky mediation I had last year. Well, not freaky..just WOW. Met a spirit guide/soul mate, and saw some things I couldn't have even dreamed up. The cat part....I was under an end table in an apartment I believe, and watched my owner murdered by some really irrate dude in a fraternity uniform of some type...with about half a dozen of his frat bros. They were mad at him because he wouldn't hide something for them and keep his mouth shut. He was sitting in his chair, next to the endtable I was under, and the irrate dude cracked him in the head with something..he just fell out of the chair and sprawled out onto the floor. I couldn't see faces...only up to mid torso on the frat guys there. It was really a very odd experience, but familiar.

Interesting that I see a lot of people saying they were animals. I’ve been told several times by people who believe in past live and reincarnation that people can’t be animals and that animals can’t be people because our spirits and life forces are, shall we say, different frequencies and are not interchangeable.

The cool part is, no one knows for sure. It's one of those things you can't prove or disprove..so you go by what you believe, what you've experienced. Everyone has their own thoughts on the matter..an area like this has so many possibilities, and there are endless theories :)

Then I think I will believe that I don’t believe we are not interchangeable. Which is what I believed anyway. I was just throwing it out there for discussion since I have heard it so much.

I think maybe I was a peasant or someones maid, OR I was a princess or some snooty chick who didn't have to lift a finger. Because I'm the laziest person I know. I'd rather eat dog poo than clean or do any sort of manual labor. So either I did it so much in one of my past lives I never want to do it again, or I was a spoiled brat who had someone else do everything for them.

Ditto...I read somewhere that souls which have known each other in previous lives tend to be drawn back together through successive existences...
Sometimes I have this weird dream-type um, thing...it seems to be set in America, during the early days of America's founding, during pilgrim times, ya know? I get the feeling I was a woman...with a large family...I had lots of kids...
Then again maybe that's just me being strange

I have had many lives, as i am an ancient soul. I have glimpses of my egyptian life, my roman life, my feudal Japn and english lives. But the life i cherish most was my past life as a dragon, i believe that was my first life, and is why i call myself dragon kin.

I absolutely cannot believe that... I don't know about anyone else, but I KNOW I lived life once as a wolf. There's no other explination for the kinship I feel with them.
I'm wondering though, does anyone here believe that you can reincarnate as/from a mythical being? You know, like a Dragon? Obviously not on this plane of existance, but on the astral plane or something?

Well, I've had a lot of movies in my mind, memories that I've never experienced. I once was driven to sadness with the memory of having a child and playing with them on a beach. I was looking at a picture of my brother-in-law and niece, and was overwhelmed with missing my child. I guess I was a father.
I also have a memory of a watery burial, with a sword in my hand and some lady crying. I don't think I was anyone famous, though.
If I was an animal in the past, I'd think it be a badger, and crow. I've always had a really weird connection to both.
Also, I'm beginning to wonder if my pen-name and persona (Marcus Conrad) wasn't a past life.

Well, a few different cultures did, from what I know. It was a few years ago, maybe '99 when I first saw it in my head. It was a small boat, though. In fact, it was strangely like the departure of Boromir in the LOTR movies (I had not read the books at the time, however, nor had the movie come out).

Yeah, and burned the boat at the same time.
One I know for certain, which I don't want to discuss, but I do have a very strong feeling that I must have drowned at some point somewhen as I am terrified of water...even worse, I think it must have been below deck on a ship, since the thought of being in a small room under water is enough to make me panic.
It's interesting to see so many wolves on here. We should all get together and talk about it sometime, and not just past-life wolves either...maybe just those with a close kinship. Although, to be quite honest, I can understand why...the decimation of the wolf population across the globe is astonishingly high.
That was an explanation I once heard a rabbi say regarding all the people who felt they had been Jewish during the time of the Nazis. That because there were so many that died so traumatically, it's no surprise they're remembering everything.

No shit. It ain't pretty getting visions of being in a mass grave ditch, watching a nazi throw weak, scrawny, naked and bloody women in, still half alive.

Once in an energy work class we experimented with guided regression and I pulled up brief glimpses of a trapper/guide from early to mid 1800's near the upper Mississippi, which is wear I currently live. I have no interest in hunting or really even in that time period, it was unexpected.

Which one?
Reincarnation. I've never really touched on the subject but it is so ingrained in and a part of my Path that I will try to explain it. Heh, this should be good. ;)
I guess in what has to be the biggest karmic jokes there is, In my first life I was Myself, as I am now! I was a Druidic teacher, healer and somewhat upper level druid with a mission. No claims to fame other than the fact that (put on your thinking caps here) I died so that the I that lives now would have the Spirit Guide needed to be able to contend with what him/I and others saw coming.
..............................................................................
The wind throws massive showers of sparks sideways as the fire roars and crackles in front of us. No amount of wind can mask the smell of charring flesh from the sacrafices though. You never really get used to it though it's grown to only a minor annoyance after so many years. Long has the altarstone remained wet in preperation for tonight.
But this time is different. This time the magic must be stronger....stronger than ever before in memory of the eldest. For this is the destiny that was thrown upon you all. To sleep with the Gods until called from your slumber by the omens you have been shown. For a year and a day now the prayers have gone up without stopping. An entire circle has this fire remained lit and offerings gone up and you have cleansed yourself and been prepared to be presented to the earth to hold until called upon. The sacrifices alone have almost caused the people to revolt but that is what the law demands. Otherwise all of you will be utterly forgotten and so cease to have ever existed. What will people remember of you after tonight? Perhaps they will sing great songs. That would be nice.
But this harvest night shall be the last. For we must make the future remember before it is too late.
At the height of the calling I am driven by unknown reasons to step back from the ring of dancing to the boulder strewn edge of the plateu. Beside the beacon rock I wait tensely with one hand on my curved knife when from out of the gloom a strangely dressed man stumbles up the carefully hidden path. Cautiously and frightened he looks around as best he can in the gloom. Drawn like a moth to the light.. Too bad he chose to put his foot on this sacred ground tonight for it will be his last. But if the Moon Goddess requires a man who am I to argue?
Reeling now I feel weak and the Goddess herself speaks to me and I know this shade that gropes in the dark before me! This is the Me that I am to Be! Drawn here across the stars. For as this is my last rite, this is his first and his initiation into the Mysteries! I see him lying in some strange place and know he has made the choice I made and sealed his fate to the God and Goddess. And he was sent here to see whence he came and I.....I am shown who I am to become, who I am to teach. Hehehe I shall Guide myself!!!
Now strength returns and I know what must be done. Stepping out onto the path I block the fires light and almost chuckle as the I that is not yet me freezes in fright and nearly falls.
Now the God of Wood and Tree and and All that Is speaks through me as I look upon myself and know the trials he has endured to get to where he stands tonight. The choice he made to bring him to the holy meet going on behind you.
"You have not lived in vain!" I bellow as my robe and cape are whipped about by the winds. "You have learned what is needed for what lay ahead of you and we are pleased. Now GO!".
I watch as the man covers his face and begins to sob.
And turning I walk back up the path to where the others are still chanting, enraptured by the Spirits. He will be waiting for me. I know that now and it comforts me for what comes next.
Giving my sacred blade to the next elder in line I drink from the bowl of Life and feel the Spirits explode in my stomach and head as the sickly sweet liquid releases them. I remove my robe and lay on the altar. Normally cold it is comfortingly warm from the heat of weeks of preperation fires. Vaguely I see dim shapes above me and hear the buzzing of many insects. A flash of hot white and I hear the Crow calling my name.
Then, as the red water of Life leaves me, I smile. I am coming my Friend, my Brother. You shall have a Guide....and I will show you...everything is as it should be ...as we foretold.
Peace,
Twig

I have not delved into my past lives a great deal, tending to go on intuition and flashes of memories.
However, I did recall one intentionally through a spell where I was a servant girl working at some castle or large stone structure. I worked everywhere, from the stables to the kitchen, and manual work was my life's purpose... apparently. I remember being blonde, stinking pretty foul, and dressing like someone who was beyond poor-I was a servant after all.
I fell in love or pined over some man who was very high class. I cannot recall much about him except that he lived the part and essentially looked his nose down on me and found great joy in taking shots at me. He wound up wedding another woman and I was so enraged through jealousy that I cursed him and her.
Beyond that, no idea what happened to me in that life. I do remember in that life I had a terrible fear of heights, even just being on top of a roof and working, which paralyzed me outright.
So, I was a vengeful servant girl who was skeered of high places. :hrmm:

I don't know who or what I was, or even if this really happened, but I have this recurring nighmare about being in the ocean and being killed by a shark. I remember every detail of it...it didn't eat me, just bit me really hard and dragged me under and then let go, but it was enough. I don't know if I was even human though.
I won't step foot in the ocean this time around though. *shudder*

I have done several past life regressions and would like to do more, but it is so damn expensive. I have recolections of several lives, but one that intrigued me the most was the life I lived right before this one, because I was a midwife. So, this is my second life in a row to be a midwife, I find that very interresting. It is also the one I recolect the most details of.

Hungarian gypsy was one of my past lives and interesting enough, I knew one ofmy soulmates back then because he is with me now. We both danced and singed and sold herbs and potions in Serbia. One memory going back has him not remarrying after I passed away- I saw him place a red rose on my coffin. I apologize if this is morbid but it is truth. Another past life I have that I am trying still to get a hold on is ancient Egypt and underground caverns.

I don't know who I was, but I have been told I am an 'old/wise soul'...
I do believe, however, that at one point something happened to me on a boat with an engine, not a canoe or anything like that. I say this because I have an intense, nearly paralyzing, inexplicable fear of any sort of motor boat. Just getting me to step into one can take several minutes. I also think I must have drowned at some point in time in a passed life... I love the water, but for as long as I can remember I've dreamt that I swam to the bottom of a pool swam back up and, but couldn't get out of the water, it was like it either went on forever or there was a sheet of something on top of the water that would stop me from getting out. To this very day I still have that fear when I swim deep under the water, as I'm coming up it's like the surface doesn't get any closer and I should have broken the surface by now... I have to actually close my eyes and tell myself it's okay until my head comes out of the water and I can breath. Despite all this, I still love the water... one would think I wouldn't go near it, but it's my second favorite 'sport', next to hockey.
I also think I may have died in/been caught in a fire at some point... for as long as I can remember (yes, even when I was 2), I was always trying to make sure I knew every possible route out of my house, or a room, particularly mine, if a fire ever occured, especially if I was high up. I'd look out a window at these times and just get a gruesome image of me, laying in a heap below after jumping out the window...
So, apparently I just don't like natural deaths, lots of fallings, and drownings and that kind of stuff...
Though I do think I may have met an old friend (at the least) in this life, which is good... mayhaps I died too soon and we're supposed to know eachother better than we did?

allrighty, i know bits & pieces of my past lifetimes... so here we go..
1) A young woman (Ages 20-30) in the time of the Roman Rule in Judea. I just remember a lot of scenery of the area (desert, tents, houses, camels, people, clothes). I'm pretty sure that this was my first life time, and that my current life is my last lifetime because it corrosponds A LOT. It strongly feels like I'm sort of "completing a circle".
2) A middle aged woman in a Celtic Tribe, a Priestess. I remember a specific scene - Leading a ritual at an area that looked very much like Stonehenge. There were only women around me, and a cauldron in the middle. It was night & there was a chilly breeze.
3) A young woman, I think somewhere around my late teens (ages 17-19), definitly in Middle Ages Europe (because of the clothes I was wearing). All I remember is burning. (seeing the clothes burn, smoke, hearing my own screams). I dont know why I died that way - Inquisition, Accident, etc. Interestingly enough, I have issues with Fire, in this life. I dont like to be around it. I hate heat, I cant stand it.

I know I was a wolf in a past life. I have a few memories of it, and, since I was little, I've always had a strong connection with them. Heck, when I was little, I thought it odd that I was a human! ^^;; It's a very raw, emotional connection, and even my parents and grandparents know about it. In my grandparents' case, they learned the hard way, because when we visited Alaska they (unbeknownst to me) set up a tour to visit a trapper's camp. Baaaad idea, as there were about ten wolf pelts on the wall. I nearly had a nervous breakdown right there, burst into tears, and that memory STILL haunts me to this day.
I also think I was a male...this is probably my first time being female, because when I was little I thought I should be a boy, and also thought it wrong for me to be female, like something wasn't right. To this day, I still relate more to male stuff.

I've found bits of three different lives in different times.
The first was as a child about ten years old. I had a big ratty gray shirt for clothes and some really thin shoes. I know I was an orphan, I recall peeking around the corner of a stone building, staring at the baker's stall in the marketplace. It was so close that I could make a quick dash, grab a loaf and run, eating most of it before I had to share the rest with the other kids. My best guess for time and place would be 1700's England.
The second was as a soldier, a leader of a small group of men and bacause of a bad decision on my part, everything went wrong. I don't even have a time for this one, I know there were swords, knives and spears.
The third one is as a farmers wife. Several children playing on the dirt floor of the shack and me stirring a bowl of batter as I look out at the endless fields of grain, waiting for my husband. I have a serious aversion to farming and flat places. lol

I remember a dream of me fighting some one, I had a sword and mail on. I was stabbed I can still remeber the pain, many years later I reconiged the uniform of a Templar knight that I was wearing. Also dreams of a fight with a person with a trident, I still get all weird when i see a documentry on the Coliseum. That would explain that one one of the gladiators used a trident and a net, but I cant remeber which one. I think I have always been a soldier. Which I do now and like it most of the time.

I haven't remembered any past lives, and I can't begin to think of what they might have been. I doubt I was anyone important. For the past few years though, I've had a really weird longing for someone, I don't know who, all I know is that there is supposed to be a male in my life who fills this role, but he isn't here. It makes me sad to think about it, and I really miss him, even though I have no idea who he is. I think eventually I'll find him again, although I don't know for sure what role he'll play or did play before, but I have a sort of idea that he'll be a teacher/mentor of some kind. I also have a major obsession with Ireland and Wales, which could be something from a past life, or just something now. No idea.

I have several. ;).
I have a connection with the Jewish people--not sure if that means I was Jewish in a past life, but I really have connected with some of them, and I am fond of studying their history and culture.
I know I have been men in past lives, and probably a real jerk in some of them based on my current karma, it seems. In fact, based on my current karma, I sometimes wonder if I was not working for Atilla the Hun or something.
A young lady in a noble family in England around the time just around the "new World" had been discovered and ships traveled for trade. I loved a man I was not supposed to, he was not noble blood. We used to sneak and meet at night in the gardens outside the estate I lived on. He was working class. He went to sea as a hand on a trade ship and never returned. I pined for the rest of that life regtretting not having run off to marry him. I loved him so. I believe that man is back in my current life, my current husband. :).
My husband and I and my daughter, we all have such a tight connection. I know these spirits have come in and out of my lives with me many times. I Love them so dearly.
I also have a connection with Native American Culture, and I am sure I spent a life as a Native American in unspoild lands before the English arrived.
I also have a connection with the Civil war--the South, though I did not agree with what they were fighting for, I got stuck in it anyway.
One life I know I was a ballet dancer, though I am not sure where exactly or the exact time--I rememer the clases. I used to dance around and around in my mother's living room as a child. When I finally took ballet at age 18, it only took 2 years for me to get en pointe--I was naturally very strong, it was as if it was ingrained and I picked up very naturally. Playing the piano was another thing that seemed to come naturally and very easily--almost as if I already had had the experience before.
I also have the feeling I have been in my English blood's family line several times off and on through history. I feel I have lived as some of my own anscestors, if that makes sense.

Apparently my 4 y.o. son has talked about past lives, he's always bringing up his 'other families' with much consistency. And some researchers believe that small children do remember some details concerning past lives, but eventually forget them. Mostly due to parental discouragement of such 'nonsense'.
My wife thinks he's talked about 3 seperate lives. his last one, she believes, he died very young of a disease. He talks about his 'firefighter daddy' and his other 'toys' such as Transformers. Another life, he was a black kid who's father killed his mother and possibly the rest of the family. In the third, he was a pilot of a 'green and red helicopter' that was shot down in a war, he and the soldiers he was carrying were killed. There are other details but I don't remember them off the top of my head.

I think I may have mentioned this before but I went to one of those supernatural/dream interpretation sites and I had to type in my present birthday and apparently in my previous life I was a Latin American woman who was an actress/singer/dancer. I'm thinking if that's true than maybe that's why I find public figures(mostly in the arts) so fascinating, and I want to be there.

I medidated near Lake Michigan and did a ritual. I came up with a image of an old lady who was real tall, pale, and skinny to the bone. She was acting really "fancy", like an aristocrat. She had a lot of fancy things around, roman sculptures, vases, korean/chinese art on eggs. She seemed very much like Queen Elizabeth II. She talked in a very high voice like Queen El II. She also seemed rich and had a lot of family. But this might be something different, not my previous life.

If you are near a sea/lake, you could medidate near it. Hear the winds push onto the sand. After you feel that our in an alpha state of mind. Ask the sea to help, then watch what is in your mind. If you do not like what you see, then jump into the sea/lake and come out of it, tell yourself you have another lesson to learn (or anything else depending on your beliefs)

I haven't the slightest clue...
There are a few people around here who do readings much like this, but I have never been to see them, or even talked with them.
But if I was to guess, I would have to further research my true personality-

Wow, I really love reading your past life experiences :) Thanks so much for sharing.
I was always pretty sure I was a new soul, but after reading these it made me start to think that maybe I have had a past life. There are some things that just create a sense of familiarity. For instance, when my husband and I first met, we kept telling eachother that we swore we met before, but we never did find out from where (maybe a past life?).
I have a fear of guns, can't stand to be near them, even though I've never had a bad experience with them.
I love the renaissance era, but then again, a lot of pagans are fond of the old ways (maybe that's NOT a coincidence?).
Maybe one of those might indicate something, who knows? :crystalba

To this point, I am yet to figure out my past lives, although I am sure I've had a good handful. :bouncysmi I'm actually reading a wonderful book. I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in Past Live Regression or anything of such matters. It is called :
-Many Lives, Many Masters ; By Brian L. Weiss, M.D.
Also, I've picked up a few but haven't fit in the time to read them. I found them in my public library. I was astonished about what I could find there if I really looked. These Books include:
-Past Lives, Future Healing ; By Sylvia Browne (with Lindsay Harrison)
-Beyond Death, Conditions in the Afterlife ; By Philip Solomon and Prof. Hans Holzer Ph.D.
-Your Sixth Sense, Unlocking The Power of Your Intuition ; By Belleruth Naparstek
If anyone has read any of these wanna tell me about them? Opinions are awesome!
Oh and lastly, does anyone have a structure or foundation for a past life regression session? (Tee hee it rhymes) Because, I would really like to find out, and I do not wish to pay a lot of money to go to a phychiatrist. Perhaps, if I do not get a reply on this, I shall wait until when the "Psychic Fair" returns to Ottawa ( :nonono: Ontario, Canada) :hehehehe:

Aedyn, I've also read Many Lives, Many Masters, and I highly recommend that one also. Another good book that has a pastlife regression method is Past Lives, Present Dreams by Denise Linn. Very informative book.
As for me... I know this isn't my first time around... Someone even told my mom when I was a baby that I had an old soul... But don't have many "memories." I know I was a priestess of Apollo, and I know I was in parts of Asia a few times, somewhere in South America once... But my only vivid ones are from being in a concentration camp in WWII, and having a twin. Not only that, but I've met the current incarnatation of my twin from that life. Weird. Still lots of unresolved karma. Oh well. Guess I'll be back for another go, eh?

I still haven't figured out if I truly believe in reincarnation and now you want me to figure out whether or not I've lived any other lives? Puh!
I do have a very strong fear of being strangled. If anyone makes a move for my neck, even just playing around, I panic. I can't even wear a traditional turtleneck because the pressure on my neck freaks me out. In fact, just talking about this makes me twitch. :twitch: And there's no real basis for this fear, so...well, maybe that's something.
Galileo's head was on the block
The crime was looking up the truth
And as the bombshells of my daily fears explode
I try to trace them to my youth
And then you had to bring up reincarnation
Over a couple of beers the other night
And now I'm serving time for mistakes
Made by another in another lifetime
How long till my soul gets it right
Can any human being ever reach that kind of light
I call on the resting soul of Galileo
King of night vision
King of insight

I was at a bookstore where I saw a cassette tape entitled "Past Life Regression", so for some reason I bought it and took it home. I was in bed and turned the tape on and it basically was a self-hypnosis tape. I did all the visualazions and when the voice on the tape asked me to look at one of my past lives. I was looking at a small home, this appeared to be some kinda ranch or somewhere out in the country. I then saw the mountains and for some reason I felt like I was in Utah.. don't ask me why.
I then walked into the house and I noticed a family setting at the table. My attention focused on the man of the house. He was very dominate and controlling and very stern with others. I sensed that he was very unhappy and took things out on other people in the house. I also felt that I was looking at myself. There was his family in the house of course, but I saw many things that were similar to this man and my current life.
I was then asked to view this persons death .. I did. He died alone and I got the impression that it was a slow death.
I never expected to see what I saw .. it was a major shock. Maybe I am trying to learn a lesson from past mistakes.

I did a past life reading for myself with my Tarot cards.
I don't know exactly how accurate the cards were, but since my cards seem to be pretty accurate when I do readings, I was a girl with a warrior spirit, I was rich, but very generous and kind. I was this kind of a girl who liked weapons (swords) and stuff like that, but also a very patriotic one, which is somehow similar to Jeanne D'Arc, how weird is that? I was in love with a spy. But we couldn't be together for some reasons. I died young.. probably of a broken heart *sigh*. Though, Jeanne didn't die of a broken heart.. or was she ever in love with someone?

I also know that in one of my previous lives, I was a king/emperor and ruled a kingdom. My wife/the queen was someone who was not rich at all before, she was probably a slave or someone with a lower position than me. But she was very kind and generous, a very sweet person, and her voice had this magical and mysterious sound.. everyone were calm when her voice was heard. She was a good healer. She healed people. But she was also patriotic, like I was.
I fought with my army in battles lots of times, and won them. That bothered her a lot, she didn't like wars. But it was like my duty to fight.
I've always felt like .. I have to fight! I have to practise martial arts, because I feel empty without it. I write many poems that seem sad to others, yes I've been broken-hearted in this life too, by the same guy from my previous life, where I died young.
I have dreams of fighting with japanese swords and celtic swords... there are always these men with black robes. These so-called 'evil spirits'. I guess it was in Japan, somewhere around 1600. Something happened in one city, I remember.. people ran, screaming. Evil was around, everywhere. Killed people. Killed my parents, and I was alone. A lonely warrior. But I managed to kill the one who killed my parents.
The scars on my face and my hands really hurt, they were bloody.
But.. strange is that, I wasn't japanese. I looked almost the same like I do now.
Sometimes, I suddenly see scenes of myself in a warrior's garment, running on a battlefield with some other warriors, and my sword pointed up to the sky, screaming to attack.
I've fought, almost in every of my previous lives. But I've also suffered in love because of it. I can still feel some certain pain in my heart, I've always felt it.
I'm also patriotic in this life too.. I've always been patriotic... yet no place satiates my soul, I don't feel at home here, that's also why my Root Chakra is under-active.. that's what someone told me.

I'm not sure, but I'm pretty sure I've lived many lives. My soul feels very old. And I think this is one of my few times being reincarnated as a female. Don't know why I feel that way, but I can just sense it.
One time, I know I was one of those girls hung/burned during the 1600s. I have this vivid picture in my mind of being up on a platform with fire burning at my feet and people in puritan-style clothing standing around, chanting, "Witch! Witch!" Now I can't stand to have anything even remotely constricting around my neck (i.e. choker necklaces, turtleneck sweaters, etc.) because it feels like I'm choking and I can't breathe.
As for other lives, I'm not sure 'cause any memories or carried-over fears/idiosyncracies are very vague. I think I may have once been a traveling gypsy with a whole caravan... Maybe a wizened old sage on top of a mountain in ancient China...Possibly a soldier of some sort...Could have been a pirate sailing the high seas in the 1800s...And I think my most recent life was as some sort of high-ranking official in Russia during the revolution. But I just have a gut feeling about these.

Wow, this thread is so awesome...I can't believe I just now discovered it!! Hearty thanks to all who wrote their thoughts on here!!! So neat!
I've had a past-lives reading done by a fellow I've grown to know fairly well (professional psychic - has worked for the police and etc and so on) through some friends. When I first met him, I was a real skeptic re: his abilities and all. When he talks, I listen now.
Anyways...
He told me that I was a servant girl in a Palace....didn't mention what dynasty...Ancient Egypt. Another life not long after that...I was a librarian (more of a clerk-type) in one of the major libraries/learning places (can't remember what name he said, wasn't Alexandria). This was very interesting in light of my lifelong obsession with things Egyptian, and books & info in general since childhood (I was an early reader, and still suck them down faster than I can afford to buy them). What was weird about my reading, is he rather clammed up after revealing those two...not something typical to this fellow. He became unsettled and ended my session rather abruptly. There's no rehashing our session either...(getting info out of him)...he avoids the topic like the plague. Odd, huh?
I ALSO believe that I was a Japanese girl...young, around 5 or 6 years old in either the outskirts of (or an outlying area near) Nagasaki or Hiroshima. I've got full memories of going shopping with my Mother. I know what the store looked like (down to the details of the walls, floors, windows, lights, checkouts...you name it), what I was wearing, the weather...it goes on and on. I also "remember" what the explosion was like. The memory has the very same flavor of events that I've had in this lifetime...I remember it as though I was there. I grew up with this memory and discussed it at length with my parents all the years growing up. Even though my parents are Fundamentalist Christians AND non-believers in reincarnation (not picking on them, just giving an FYI)...they are convinced that something mighty odd went on where I'm concerned. My mother insists that I'd NEVER been exposed to any shows or such on TV...so there's absolutely no WAY I could give the detailed description of what I did (from around 5 or 6 yrs old and on)...including the blast, light flash, mushroom cloud...how the glass blew in, the shockwave, the darkness... the whole shebang.
I've drawn a number of pictures through the years of the setting... still clear as a bell to me today..decades later.

Ok, well, I have a friend who swears I must have been a Tibetan thangkha painter in a past life. I don't know how much stock I put in that though.
And here is what I've dreamed about, whether they're truly past lives, I don't know, but they have the quality of memories more than any of my other dreams.
I remember being in a place that looked a lot like pictures of Egypt, and having dark skin and hair. This younger girl and I (I think I was female, ~16-19 yrs old), were fleeing someone/thing, and we were forced into the river. I was scared and felt protective of the younger girl. I don't know what hit me, but when I was about waist deep, I was knocked under the water. I had about a second of sight underwater, and I think I died then. That's it.
The other was as a small girl (~10yrs old) in ... Spain?, and my family lived in this rather nice white house on top of a hill overlooking some kind of orchards or vineyard of some sort. I just remember my little brother (a year or two younger), whom everyone loved, was dabbling in dark magics, and I found out, but I didn't know what to do or whom to tell, because I didn't want anything to happen to him. I think we were being looked after by some other family and that our parents had died recently. The dream ended before any resolution.
I think it likely that I was male in a number of lives, and that I was living somewhere in Asia at least once, since a lot of particularly Buddhist ideas come intuitively to me, although I certainly could have been a Western Buddhist. I don't know.
I don't have any particular reason to think I was ever anyone famous, but I suppose if I could pick one person to have been, it would be Emperor Norton I. What fun, indeed. ^_^

Oh, and I thought I'd add on that I'm not afraid of water, even though I think I died in that river (which looked v. different from the current river I live on). In fact, I really love water, but I do have a great fear of opening my eyes underwater. I have no memories or hints of any animal incarnations. And I feel like my immediate family has been together in one sort or another for longer than just 20-some years.

I've never been able to remember anything from a past life. I haven't even had the affinity with other cultures or periods in history that tends to be a sign of where you were in a past life. I do think I've had other lives, though - I think I'm an old soul (I'm not saying that in a pretentious way :)). I've just never been able to remember. It kind of frustrates me, but I figure there must be a reason for it. Maybe it's for the same reason that I can't astral project yet - lack of grounding.

i think i must have lived in ireland before, because there was an image of a hill that i used to see, and it seemed very strongly that that hill was "home", and that it was far away. when i thought of it i would get homesick almost to tears.
i recognized it on my trip to ireland. it looked a little different, but i know it was the same place, just outside of dublin. i don't remember anything about that life, though, only the hill.
i think i might have been a soldier before, too. when i was in basic training the act of running through the woods with a rifle in hand felt very familiar, even though i hadn't done anything like that before i joined the army. my first thought was that i was in vietnam, because that's the first war the m-16 was used in. it might have been ww2, though, because the terrain also seemed familiar, and it was definitely a temperate climate type of forest.

I've thought about past life regression...and then thought better of it. I don't think I'd like to remember the me and things that me went through that ended in suicide.
Well, Mau, you wrote this a while ago, but I just wanted to say... maybe you could think again about doing a regression? You could do a regression session with a gifted healer so that not only are you remembering, you're also healing those experiences. (Just recalling them can be very therapeutic, but with a healer, I'd think even moreso...) A friend did it, and she said it was life changing. I'm going to do it soon too.
People fear it'll be too much for them to take, seeing the past lives, and the potentially painful things that happened... and I was really afraid, too! But when you remember it, or so I hear, you don't experience it as YOU, but as a third person... and you might cry, but you don't feel it. More than reminding you of suicide and other horrible things, it will allow you to *let go*... it may also explain so many things in your current life, and allow you to live this life more easily and freely. It could be a huge release for you...
I just think you could benefit from it, and I don't think you'd regret it after the fact.

To be burned in a previous life doesn't mean that you will always be afraid of fire...I remember that as a little child I was afraid of fire but not anymore..When I first became wiccan my relationship with fire wasn't the best but I started admiring this fierce element and this Samhain in my ritual I really felt a connection with it!And this although I was burned in a previous life.
Actually I know 4 of my previous lives.I know I am an old soul but not an ancient one...I mean my soul didn't exist in the Stone Age and I think I was born later..So the 2 lives I remember are:
-Middle Ages or more precisely the 100 year war between the French and English I think..I was either French or English,my friend who looks into past lives insists that it is England and I believe that too because I feel so attached to England.I was a girl in early 20's,maybe under 20's.I wasn't anything important but my family must have been relatively wealthy.I was in love with a guy,my soulmate who was a soldier. But things didn't end up well...It's a painful story.
-I was a belly dancer.I don't remember when or where..I just have memories of dancing in a palace in front of a king...
And I've also found through a tarot reading that I was a man of authority or some sort of landlord in my exact previous life.Actually this must be true and I must have been a guy in my previous lives more than once because many times I feel that I can relate to male characters of stories..
And lastly I was told that I was a witch which was burned in Montana somewhen in the 1800..

That tells me you might have died on a sinking ship...who knows? You may have even been a 3rd class passenger on the Titanic. :-)

I'm a very old soul and that in my very last life I was a sumo wrestler. A semi glamorous life to lead from what I've heard about them. And oddly I was once told at a party by a psychic which I didn't believe in at the time I was several lifetimes ago a visiting alien to this planet. On a research or a survey mission. I died here and so have reincarnated here from then on. Its all the same to me since you come back in a body anywhere in the universe where you can learn your lessons. Eventually you live many lives on many planets and in many dimensions. Not a bad way to spend eternity... vacationing and seeing the universe and getting a good education while your at it. :hehehehe:

Even thought people continue to make fun of me each time I say this. I strongly believe that I was a 3rd class member on the Titanic. Reason being, for my entire life, I have had dreams about this ship, different areas, different fatal departures. I have always been drawn to it with a deep attraction, but as I have said, I have had continous dreams about being on this ship, and trying to escape. It just seems odd that I would have this type of connection with a boat. If something like a past life didn't have something to do with it.
Any comments are encouraged, and welcome....

my mom has some neat and odd theories on everything, she believes that the recollection of past lives stems from children and babies watching television. That the images we saw when we were young resurface later in life. Maybe there was a particular movie or show that we saw that made an impression on our young brains at one point.
Who knows, as I said my mom has a lot of neat theories

i can relate to that, by my love to Cleopatra.

wow, some interesting responces...
me, I think I am an old soul...Im so very connected to the ancient times... espially egypt(spell??) and also I just feel old....I did past life meditation on myself once and I think I lived in eithiopia in its prosperous times.... it was very lush and beautiful yet reminded me of egypt...and I was black...I was in a very nice building and in very fancy dress...the way things were I felt like a prestess or gods wife... but thats all I got...
I think there was a huge gap in time where I was'nt here... I believe in my last life I was a man and it could have quite possibly have been in the early 20th century.... thats really all I can put together.... its hard to tell if you just think it or if it could be true....

Apparently some researchers believe that small children do remember some details concerning past lives, but eventually forget them. Mostly due to parental discouragement of such 'nonsense'.
if that is true then i was a drug dealing, gambler (made man ?) who owed a bunch of people money. everytime when i was young and thought about who i was before i was me, thats what i would come up with.
A medium i saw once told me that i was killed in my most recent life more than likely from some blunt object trauma to the face around the bridge of my nose and right eye.
other than taht ive had no experiences that i would dub past life.

I have suspicions that I may have been Lucifer...hmmm...then...I also have some weird 'memories' of events in history I never knew actually happened until after I 'remembered' them. I put them in quotations 'cause I don't actually know for sure whether they're memories, but yeah. Weird stuff. If past lives are for real though, somebody out there is likely to have been someone like Shakespeare, so I don't understand why people are so in doubt about those things.

Peace,
Twig

I don't have any specific memories, just feelings of recognition and strange fears. I feel like I am a pretty old soul. I have always been drawn to Ireland more than any other place.
When I was younger, I was terrified of lighting matches, lighters, could never light fireworks with my little brother. I had to stand back and hope he didn't get burned. I must have been burned at some point in my past lives - although I have at least long since got used to using lighters.
I have been terrified of bad storms for as long as I can remember. My mom says there was nothing big that happened in my life that would cause that. We don't get many bad storms where I live. Thunderstorms have always freaked me out - but there are times mixed in with that where I love them. It seems to be that most of the time when storms come I worry about my loved ones but when I know were all together, it doesn't bother me as much. I went to a metaphysical fair and during a general reading the psychic told me that in a past life I was a man whose family was killed by a natural disaster.
The same psychic also told me that I have been a priestess many times and have been involved in healing and magic practices many times so it's kind of like been there, done that and I don't have much interest in it. It feels like I have been a priestess before and probably the old healer lady a few times (just a feeling I have) but I definitely still have an interest. It feels natural but sort of scary for some reason.
I also have a handful of people that I feel like I have known before many times. I've always been extremely over-protective of my mother - even when my dad just gets annoyed with her. I have always tried to counsel her when she is down and keep her safe. I feel like I have likely been her mother at some point.
I wish I could actually "see" or remember my past lives. Just don't want to have to pay all kinds of money to have a regression done.

I'd like to do a transgression, too. I have this vision of looking down a street and seeing burned (bombed-out?) buildings. I go into a panic attack if I see a burned out building, and I also go into a panic attack (yeah, this is weird) sometimes, if I see a tall flagpole without a flag on it at night. This comes even from when I was little. I'd have to cover my eyes.
So, I'm chalking that up to a past life thing, rather than a I'm a weirdo thing.

I was hung as a witch... no not Salem, or anywhere famous... I don't remember the place or even the time so much as the emotional connections I had with the other people around me. I wasn't really a witch though, at least not as we understand them today. I was cheating on my husband and he found out and wanted "revenge", so he accused me of witchcraft. I have never had any recollections of a previous life...I tend to think I'm a new soul. For those of you who have had a previous life, who were you? _witchball
One way to confirm would be to look at your Sun-sign...most new souls are Virgo-s.
Scorpio-s on the other hand are not only usually old souls, they are two old souls who, in their last life, lived as soul-mates are were reincarnated as one being (the scorpio).
So I remember one immediate past life, a short-lived samurai in an era before the Europeans ever came to the vicinity of Japan.
Before that, I remember two fairly simultaneous past lives - - - one as a student of a school where adults learned to become gods in a Celtic culture too loose to have been called an Empire (the school itself was in Wales, the time seems to have been around 2000 BC, although we didn't think of it that way obviously), the other as a massively intense spirit of change that had been anchored to an area of the Astral layers deeply into the magma.

I'm quite sure I was a witch a few times around... (just discovering it again now) or at least a healer. I was once Native American, of that I'm quite sure, and I have a strange fascination with the colonial period and am quite sure I was some rich girl, no one special though. Who was I in a past life? Good question. I believe that I was a man. Don't know much else than that. See, I've had this dream since I was 14, about a man dying in a car accident. He's young, in his mid 20's, longish (shoulder length) blond hair, skinny and he's got some stubble on his face. Not really a beard, but more than a 5'o clock shadow. He's in the car alone and he's angry/scared... I feel both. I feel like I am him, he is me. It's 1960 something, I'm thinking mid or late 60's (8-ish). Anyway, he's driving a light blue, UGLY car (lol), on a winding road with a slight down hill slope. He's angry and so he's driving rather recklessly, yet he's in control. He notices that the car is gaining speed as he approaches a curve, and he sets his foot on the break. There is no reaction from the car to this, and he continues to gain speed (now he's scared out of his mind) and the car goes sailing off of the road and down an embankment, rolls and he dies.
Strange, because I've had this EXACT dream since I was 14. I don't know why.. I've never had any other reoccurring dreams, tho I've had some that are similar to others. This dream though, NEVER changes. It wakes me up too, because it feels so real. I wake up wondering “who did this to me”. If that makes sense.

I know I was a warrior in one of my past lives. Everytime I pick up a sword it feels like it belongs there. Especially a claymore. I had a dream once of being a Scottish chieftain's son on his wedding day, with a beautiful bride. I dreamed up the whole scene with all of the relatives and customs too along with the right period dress. I don't know where I could have gotten the images from since I didn't see braveheart til AFTER the dream.
I had a past life reading by someone once. She told me I was a mongol warrior in one life and some persian queen in another, but it sounded alot like one of those you were famous in another life things.
I went to a past life regression but could not really get anything from it except really really faint sounds of battle with horses and someone calling out a name, mine I think... Donal.
Kind of strange since I am Chinese.

I'm female now, but I think in a more recent past life I was a man.
Before that I don't think I was on this earth for a long time.
I believe I may have walked in or around 1740-1780.
I believe my life before that one was in the 1400's,
and before that I believe I was female and belonged to a Celtic tribe of some sort,
likely in regions of Austria, and later incarnated as a member of a "barbaric" tribe, possibly in different parts of Ireland. I'm desperate to do a PLR to learn more but I don't have the money.

I was a mod chick in the early 60's I think. I have memories of London, Germany, and I think Berkeley, but nothing past early 1966 when I was reborn again. I think I was pretty young when I died and that I came back pretty quick that time...
I have a definite cat thing and an affinity for ancient Egypt I can see myself as a Priestess of Bastet, easily, in fact I still feel I am.
Russia, when I don't know, exactly....Ireland, circa the early 1600's normal farm chick, then England early and mid 1800's, ton-girl, bored, rich and vain...
I don't think I was famous or anything but I do think I had a strong crush on Lord Byron in the 1800's, say 1816 ish?
As a kid, I never read Byron, or cared to, maybe the one obligatory poem in high school, but he's been in my life in the past couple of years in a big way. I stumbled over him about 5 years ago and now I am obsessed with him all over again. I've read every bio out there and every obsure book just seems to FIND me....
I don't even LIKE the guy in some ways and YET the serendipity is interesting to say the least. A rare complete copy of his works circa 1866 drops into my lap, ditto the matching letters which is VERY hard to find, for nothing....I get a letter from a stranger and in it is a quote from the very "epic" poem I've been trying NOT to finish all month....
I've got an e-buddy who jokingly suggested that Byron is bored in the hereafter and inclined to torment me...
Given it seems I am NOT allowed to forget his existence I'm almost inclined to agree....

as well, Im pretty sure I lived throughout the 1800's. Im facinated with everything victorian. (especailly the clothing). I have a very strong but unfocused memory of being a slave woman (african & indian blood) at a southern plantation. I can see myself walking past the big house and seeing trees and the slave quarters a little distance away. No wonder I get mad when the hubby starts cracking racial jokes. Grrrr.... I also went through a local year-long metaphysics course about a year ago, and the teacher did past-life readings for us. She told me that I have lived in the same area for several of my past lives (I have a VERY strong tie to the land and waters of my area) and she also said in my reading that I was a person who did some sort of crossing-over rituals for the dead and dying. I'm partially descended from the Ho-Chunk (Winnebago) tribe, who came from my area, so I believe that its likely I lived as a shaman-type person in either that tribe, or the original moundbuilders that they are descended from. Interesting discussion!!

He's very mad and I'm panicked & screaming for my life; he catches up to me and smashes me in the back of the head with this baseball sized green rock. I fall to the ground and thats the end of the dream. I swear it must be from a past life, it just has that feeling to it.

I have had many pastlives.
Did you know that Arthur and Genivere had a daughter? Ursula was my name and my parents are the same in this life. I don't tell many people of this life as I worry they will boo hoo it. But the details of it are VERY clear including the fact that it parrells many things that have happened in this life also.
I was once an Indian chief who saved a white child for my sister whose child had just died, I later took this child as my woman.
I was a young girl in a small rural town who refused to marry a man so he branded me a witch and my sister and had us drowned but before we fully died he told everyone we were of course then had us pulled from the water and did horrile things to us when no one else could see, funny he did something similar in this life but I had him sent to jail and then I forgave him ( which he hated me for, forgiving him that is).
I have had several lives where I was beaten by my partner and murdered, thrown down stairs etc.
I have a real afinty for the middle ages and lived most of my lives there.
My biggest trip yet has been this:
I had always had a dream of walking down the isle in my bridal gear but my grooms face was a ball of mist. The night I met my husband I had this dream and it was his face I saw, now this may have been wishful thinking but how do you explain that I had never mentioned this to anyone and the first time after I met him that we spoke he told me that he used to have that same dream and that night he saw my face. Is that spooky or what.
My kids tell me that they want to be the mum or dad next time, and I know that my youngest was my husband in a past life.
Can you have 2 soulmates?
because my first is my husband and my second is my youngest son ( who was a home birth).
love and hugs

I don't know exactly *who* I was but I know in one life exactly what I looked like. Well..almost. I remember having really very pale skin, extremely so and very long black hair and violet-ish colored eyes. There's a lot to how I know this, and more, though. A medium once told me *one that isn't related to me* that I have the gift of sight, or visions and that a reacurring one that I was having was my past self.
Also, I think I may *in a different life* have lived in like, the times where the legends of King Arthur, Merlin, and those came from..from that time. But that's only because I feel a pull, and a closeness to it that I can't explain.

I was the wife & widow of James Connelly, the man who led the Irish Uprising in 1916 (I think I died in the late '50's). I know I was a redhead; my eyes are bound to have been blue or violet as this was my greatest desire when I was a child to have. I still long to be a redhead.
I had a series of visions of the uprising & of Seamass which indelibly impressed that history upon me. It was out of the blue - or almost, I was interested in Ireland but I hadn't focused on the Uprising at all up to that point.
I saw my husband being buried; much later, I was treated to the sight of his actual execution...
(My nickname for myself was "Roisin Dubh n'Eirinn", "Black Rose of Ireland".)

I remeber bits and pieces of past lives mostly. I know I was a woman in Englad during the Victorian era, and I was murdered in an alley. I was a seer in a past life (oddly enough it's come full cirlce) who was the sister of a high priestess. I refused to use my gift for someone's evil schemes and was blinded for it. I lived with my sister and became sort of a care taker of her, despite my blindness. I know that lifetime that Roman soldiers killed my sister (the priestess) and her followers. I survived longer than she, but after I found she had been killed I remember sitting down on a rock and uttering something like "come to me death."
And I remember being a man in the American colonies, and an Asian man who did this form of divination with these little bone disks that I would shake around in my hands and then toss out onto a clothe. By the way, if anybody knows of any sort of divination like that, please let me know? I know it wasn't I-ching.

Hmmm, I only remember bits and pieces of mine. I know I was an Egyptain twice, the first time I don't recall very much of at all, I like in most of my past lives was a just a commoner, but I once did a reading that said this life was in pre-pyramidic Egypt. If I could remember anything about it than it would be really cool I suppose!
Then I was an High Priestess of Isis in Egypt around the time the Romans were invading Egypt and adopting thier Gods and Goddesses.I recall a lot about this one, I had a lover who was a Roman Centuiron (not sure how to spell that, but it's basicaly a general) and I knew a little bit of Latin in this life (I know cuz when I was taking Latin I knew words and sometimes senteces I'd never even seen before.) I think this life was the first in which I ever felt true love (tho I am not sure that feeling had returned in any others!) I've got alot of trival romantic details form this one but I don't want to bore anyone with that. Iam not sure how this life ended tho.
I am sure there was one in the middle ages that ended violently. Thats about all I know on that one.
There may have been some Native American in there, I am not sure. I may have meet the lover from the Egyptian one agian, but I am not sure.
I am sure in one life I was stung to death by bees or wasps...thats the only explination I have of my morbid fear of them.
As for animals, I know I've been a cat, and a falcon...and maybe some sort of dinosour as weird as that sounds, but I went through a huge palentology phase when I was little and had some pretty crazy dreams.
