Guided Meditations

I have a lot of books with guided meditations in them, especially my Celtic Shamanism book, that I would love to do but don't. Why? Well, I tried recording my voice reading it and would always end up laughing at myself bc I can't stand the way I talk...sound much better in my own head :D And I can never remember the whole meditation to do it from memory...What do you guys do? I wish they would put a CD with the books as an option for those who really want to do it...I know it would cost more but I would buy it!!

It's "By Oak, Ash & Thorn" by DJ Conway...It's good...I need to read it again bc it's been a while! I haven't read any other books on Celtic Shamanism though...I believe Ms. Conway has written another book on the subject...

I can't think of any other way than to record your voice. If you've someone that knows about your path, maybe they can read and record it?

Who knows, maybe someone on MW will record themselves reading it for you and mail it to you.

I face the same problem.Most of my books(including the Fairy Ring Tarot book) have some wonderful meditations but I face these problems:
-I can't learn by heart the meditations or try remembering them because it would loosen my concentration
-I don't have a voice recorder and good ones cost a lot.
-Even if I had I find it funny to hear my voice and doing a meditation.

BUT while browsing amazon I've found some cds which have recorded guided meditations for Celtic Gods/Goddesses etc.I remember one featuring a meditation with Brighid.I just searched amazon but I can't find it saddly.Search for yourself and I'm sure you'll find what you seek.

I would also suggest having someone you know do the recording for you as long as they have a voice you can listen to without laughing :) I think I might take my own advice and get someone to do that because I love the guided meditations.

For anyone interested, Mara Freeman did record selected meditations included in her book Kindling the Celtic Spirit on CD. I have been thinking about doing that for so long-recording the ones I know and haven't for that reason, that i wouldn't be able to get over my voice. I'm gonna play around with it though and try to record something, and if I get it on the computer or onto a tape I'll def. send it to anyone who wants it hehe

Isn't all this missing the point?

I've never done this from a book.

I go into trance and along the path and let my own unconscious and the Will of the Powers guide me. It's not always the path I originally intended or the direction I planned to go but where I end up is obviously where I'm meant to be rather than trotting around in someone else's Otherworld!
