I read a few threads down about teardrops experiences, i too have something kind of like that. I just say i have pretty good intutions. For example i can often tell when there is something about a person which isn't written on their face and sometimes i get really down or some feeling oout of the blue and find out later that one of my friends relie died etc. Also i often say what people are about to say, i don't think its just i think alike i think i read there minds and just say it at the same time, things that aren't related to what people are talking about, but i don't relise it i just say it. I have seen energyies everywhere forever and i often use it to judge whether people are good or not. One time i guessed all the loto numbers unfortuntly i guess them before it started and didn't buy a ticket. I am new to the pagan path and i guess all this is what drew me towards it. Am i just weird ? Or do other people have or no what it is?

Welcome and merry meet! :D :sunny:

Don't worry we won't laugh at you :) and if someone does send them to me and I'll take care of them ;) but seriously, report them to a moderator. We like to keep a friendly environment here. :D

Many people here have experiences like you. I'm sure they'll pop up here soon :D

Welcome, Milly

Pull up a comfy chair and have a glass of lemonade!

I have know folks who have claimed to be able to read minds and such. Your empathy sounds pretty genuine, sort of like a very deep intuition. There were times when I wish I could have picked the lotto numbers <sigh> ... but alas, I guess it's just not supposed to be. Darn.

A lot of folks can pick up on body language too and some are totally clueless to it. As far as myself goes, well, I have been tricked into trusting people too often because I "thought" I could read them and felt they were being okay. I am a knob when it comes to that sort of thing, I suppose. There are other means available to read a person, but that is another talk show ;).

We won't laugh. I think you'll find lots of people with various talents on this site. Some the same as yours, some different. Some finely tuned, some not. Welcome to Mystic Wicks Milly. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Like you I am new too, and I am finding that there are things I can pick up from other people, people I have not met, and some I have. My problem is I don't know if its just me telling myself that this is why they did that, or if its my empathy. To me this is still all confusing. I just keep trying to sort it out, and there is so much to learn, do, study! I think my brain goes into to overload, and wants to shut down! So I join communities like this, and club, so that I can find people willing to help me out on my journey, and I have found that so far, Pagan people are the nicest I've met. I try not to judge anyone, but I don't have to worry about acceptance ya know? Anyway, I hope we both find what we are looking for! Blessed Be, Angel

I have noticed about myself I can tell people stories about them I can't "just know". I don't know what to do with this, I don't know if it's a "gift" or if it's a down-to-earth quality or whatever... I really don't know what to do with this ability. Maybe it's something special, maybe it's just the simple 1+1=2.... :ack:

Its not so much I know about them, I can tell how how they are feeling, or if they are trying to hide something, but mainly I have to be around them in order to pick up on this. I am just going with the flow, and taking it for face value, so to speak. I also think its pretty kewl!!!!! BB, Angel

We are all a bit "out there" where conventional thinking is concerned. Believe me, if you want to talk about things that you can't discuss anywhere else, this is the place.

I'm glad you found our family! Welcome.

Merry Meet Milly,
I tend to pick up energy too.feelings, people's baggage, andother stuff like that. I am a stonemason partally because I like the way the stones sing when you've done a good job building something with them. No you are definately not weird.

i used to have empthy coming out my ears. it really got on other people's nerves. mostly it just got me in trouble--but that was more because i couldn't keep my mouth shut when i should have than anything else. then i met someone about whom i just cuoldn't believe what my empathy was letting me in on. i shared some of it with her, as a test, and her reactions were emphatic in the affirmative. but still, i denied my better sense. eventually, so fed up with the inner confusion that i couldn't keep my mouth shut (again), i said, "i'd rather not know and be able to get close to someone than know and always be at this distance!"

...for a whole year i was empathically blind. and i paid dearly. that woman...i'll just say that it eventually became a matter of my life or death with her.

as soon as i left that environment, my empathy came back, but in a severely blunted form. i can no longer actively 'read' people, but i must settle for being open to whatever subtleties that they radiate (however unintentionally). and that is not such a bad thing. i just miss having what little control i once had.

As well... But sadly for some reason, It is hard for me to make a shield... I try but it doesn't work... But I feel I am getting the hang of it. Otherwise I would like to say, that sometimes being an empath is fun. but others its not. It sucks feeling bad for someone else. BEing sick... thinking of horrible thoughts... Its a hard road for an empath, but once you get a hang of it... Then yes it is a very benefecial not to mention a fun tool:) Especially in card games..LOL

I also find it to be both beneficial and detrimental at times. Good because when a friend is upset I can tell right away and ask them what's up, bad because when friends get in a big argument or feel miserable I start to feel angry/sad/or even physically sick too.

What's the line between being a full-blown empath or just having some good intuition?

I'm a pretty good people-detector, IRL, sometimes on the 'net as well. Meaning I know immediately what my friends are feeling when they don't say it, and when I meet strangers I'm good at reading their emotions towards me and others. If a person's being "fake" I pretty much know. But I'd hesitate to call myself an empath, and was just wondering where that distinction is, where that... I don't know, what's the definition exactly?

I think intuition is a big part of being an empath. I don't see a line between them really, I think they're related ;)
