:uzi: :uzi: :uzi: :uzi: (the kitty abusers) This makes me SOOOOO mad!!!!!!! IMO...those guys should have gotten the same sentance as they'd have gotten had they done the same thing to a human being! If I were the owner of those cats...I can't say what I would do..but I know it wouldn't be pretty!!!!!!!! Oh...gods...I am sooooooo angry!

Those punks deserver more than anger management, probation and a $500 dollar fine. They should be in jail, plain and simple and working to pay the entire vet bill themselves. And what about some community service (supervised) in an animal shelter. I'll never understand what people are thinking when they do things like this. If they had done this too one of my cats I would have made their lifes a living nightmare.

me too blue..and they think it's FUNNY. I don't understand how harming an animal..or even FRIGHTENING them, is funny!! Our cats our our children. At the end of the day, when they are all gathered in the kitchen, eating their evening meal, hubby and I just sit and watch them with tender smiles on our faces. We love them SOOOOOOO much, that it almost hurts sometimes. We treat our cats, better than we treat ourselves, basically!!!!! How anyone else could NOT see the miraculous love that beloved pets give us..and how precious and innocent their spirits are...is beyond me!!!

You know what else really gets me? People who.."Fight" their dogs. You know..like the pitbull fights!!!! GRRRRRRRR...it's SOOOO not right!!!!!!!

I really would like to take THOSE kids, and set THEM on fire, and sit and laugh...When they howl in anguish..i'd just say..."Wow..but..you thought it was funny to do to a CAT". Ugh..sorry..i know that was a really violent thing to say..but...I am just SOOOOO angry!

This is ridiculous!!! When I was 14, I got caught shoplifting. I know, bad me. Well.. guess what? I had to go to Anger Management and pay a $500 fine. I didn't have to spend 2 nights in jail.. but still... a 14 year old who gets caught stealing (about 20$ worth of merchandise) gets the same punishment as these 2 sicko's. This is disgusting. I think they should have to pay the vet bills, plus pay a little extra for emotional and psycological damages to the family. Could you imagine what these poor people are going through? I'm sure they feel the same way we all do, out pets are our family, like our children. The family will deffinitely get some good positive energy and a few candles lit from me. :( Poor kittie.

The truly horrifying thing is that it's been proven time and time again that children who torture animals become adults who attack people. Obviously there is a problem with their mental health and they need to be evaluated. Not only is this crime so despicable in that an innocent, loving creature got tortured, or because the children got slapped on the wrist. To be sure, this is horrifying enough. However, consider what this could lead to in 10 or 20 years.

My sister saved a cat that she saw being dragged down the road (his tail was caught in the door). The owner got out and dumped the bloody cat off. My sister picked him up and took him to the vet. WE were made to pay the vet bills and find a home for the cat while the owner had nothing done to him!! UGH!!

What is wrong with some of these people?

Meanwhile I'm watching a talk show where the topic is whether children should be tried as adults. Now, I knew as a baby not to pull the cat's tail, so how come teenagers don't know it's wrong to torture a cat? Is there a shortcoming with their parents, or is it just a problem with their mental health? I'm really getting sick of hearing that "a kid doesn't understand what is right or wrong". This is crap. If the kid doesn't know torturing a cat is wrong by the time they're a teen perhaps the parents need to be punished too.

Well, the way I see it is that in the world today people aren't truly made accountable for their actions. For example... In years past, if you broke or lost something that didn't belong to you, you were made to pay for it (restitution). That doesn't seem to happen anymore. We've gone from punishments that 'fit the crime' to generalized punishments that are there for satisfying the general public's outrage (which doesn't actually). It's sad really.

I agree willow. I am absolutely positive that these kids knew that what they did was wrong. I mean...if you threw gasoline on them, and lit a match..I'm PRETTTTTTTY sure they'd start screaming. This would suggest to me, that something terrible DID go wrong in their upbringing. Or..they could just be severely mentally ill. But the fact that there was more than one involved in this crime, would kinda be a litttttttle bit coincidental (for them both to be severely mentally ill, that is). So..I'd assume they DO have some anger issues. Some violence issues. However, imo..they should be given these "Anger management" classes, while in Juvie Hall or Prison. Not while they're free to attend school, hang out with friends, etc. The Parents of these kids need to take responsibility too...and pay restitution for mental, and emotional anguish, to the family of this cat, IMO.

These were girls, right? In my eyes, this proves what kind of parents they'll make. *shudder*

All I can say is that when I read what happened here, I was pretty close to weeping then enraged. I will never understand those who harm other living creations. I have faith that the universe will not let these individuals get away with such gruesome acts.

In a village near mine, two kids aged 14 and 16 once poured acid over a sheep or goat, can't remember. It was burned to death. It makes me so sad people take abuse of harmless animals... Even the thought of it makes me feel angry and sad  :flamer:
