Just fowarding this on, to those interested :

As many of you know, Connecticut Pagan Pride Day will be held on Saturday,
September 29, 2001 from 11 a.m. to sunset (approximately 6:35 according to
the Farmer's Almanac) at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport,
Connecticut. This event is being held on a widespread scale in many states
and several other countries, and was begun in 1998 by the Pagan Pride
Project, a nonprofit organization (www.paganpride.org). As the event
coordinator for Connecticut, I would like to encourage everyone to attend.
The event is open to the public, and admission is one canned food item per
person (more if you wish!) to be donated to Alpha Home, a women's shelter in
Bridgeport. Due to park rules, there will be no nudity, no alcohol, and no
blades. (I'm not sure about dogs, but I will find out.)

There will be a drum circle, speakers, vendors, readers, a ritual, a bake
sale, a bardic circle, and a sand castle contest (bring your shovels!). In
addition, the vendors and some other generous people have donated some very
beautiful items to be raffled off. All proceeds will go to Alpha Home in
Bridgeport.

If you would like to help, here are some things you can do:

1. Come to the event! This is the best way to make this event a success.
Please note that there will be reporters there, but they will not take
pictures of anyone who does not want them to. But in case you are a ham
like me and want to be on TV or get your picture in the paper, this may be a
good opportunity.

2. Bring an item for the bake sale.

3. Bring flyers/information about your own group or tradition. There will
be a networking table set up for everyone's information.

4. Spread the word! If you would like to distribute flyers, e-mail me at
tworavens@snet.net and I will get them to you. We have flyers for pagans
and flyers for non-pagans. In addition, please feel free to forward this
e-mail to any person or group you think might be interested.

5. If you would like to be a vendor or reader, e-mail me. You must have a
tax ID number, which is easy enough to get at your town clerk's office.

6. If you are interested in being a speaker, let me know. Time slots are
55 minutes.

7. If you are a performer (singer, dancer, juggler, fire eater, etc.) and
would like to be in the bardic circle, let me know. Time slots are 5 to 10
minutes depending on how many participants we have.

8. We also need people to stay after the event for cleanup.
