I've read in an astrology book that most people w/ scorpio risings tend to lose their first spouse to death. I've also read that people w/ scorpio risings tend to have life changing events involving sex, birth, or death (these are life changing for anyone actually). But people w/ scorpio rising tend to learn lessons about sexuality, birth or death. For all the expert astrologers in here, is this true? Anyone care to share their experiences if this does actually happen to be true? I know their are a lot of people in here w/ scorpio risings...

Where you read that Scorpio Rising people
lose their first spouse to death, but most astrologers I know dont predict death by any
interpreation in the chart, much less by the ASC.
Scorpio is the sign that deals with death,
being the Polarity of or at the other end of the continuum of the creative Taurus energy , and a lot of simplified versions of interpretations of Scorpio talk about "death and rebirth" in association with Scorpio energy, but nothing as specific as Death of the partner . Not even the presence of planets in the Eight house which is the natural Scorpionic house and as such associated with death would induce an ethical astrologer( let us hope) to make such a broad generalisation. But a Scorpio rising MIGHT tend to take the gloom and doom view of that , because most Scorpio rising folks not even like Scorpio Sun or Moon, tend to be intensely passionate about life and death issues , and want to explore them even as far as the grave which holds secrets with which they are familiar. A Scorpio Rising would be interested in communicating with whoever crossed over even possibly more than the event of death itself.
I knew a Scorpio ASC once that built his own coffin, to see what it felt like to be in one :< .

...couldn't agree more Your Ascendancy.....and I would add that esoterically there might be an indication of death of the "self" ( do NOT read:"suicide"!!!) involved ( maybe a double indication of this with the Aries Sun)...wherein to manifest ( Taurus) the "not-self" (7th house)...the native is continually resurrecting himself into someone new......Certainly an intensity of character and often appearance with Scorpio ascendants.
One of the most interesting of these I have seen is a daughter, Gemini, Libra Moon ( of COURSE...hahaha) with Scorpio rising.....(weird manifestation is a strange little voice --talk more of that later)....incredible intensity for a Gemini....and don't EVER piss her off...hahaha

Not depending on which zodiac one is speaking of, the Sidereal or the Tropical (as there is a 25 degree descrepancy between the two), Scorpio rising, in this case, offers little difference in one's fate than any other ascending Zodiacal sign. What is important is where the Ruler of Scorpio is in the birth chart, its aspects and which house it occupies. Also remembering that Libra now constitutes 83% of what is considered the constellation and true sign Scorpio, under Tropical reckoning, therefore, one must look to the planet Venus, as this is the ruler of Libra. (The ruler of Scorpio is Mars -not Pluto). That Mars represent something about a woman's mate and Venus represents something about a man's mate. There are other significators in one's birth chart that also tell something about one's mate, such as the natal Descendant and the placement of its ruler. These types of delineations are generally not based on ingathering of historical events of famous personalities, or people who are even known by an Astrologer. Unfortunately, this type of astrology is based on traditional ideas which are not substantiated from actual historical facts -ideas that have been around for almost 70 years and there has been no verification nor graduating from such theories. The idea of Scorpio being associated with death and sex is taken from the supposed delineations of Pluto which again, is the (traditional) Tropical ruler of Scorpio. But these ideas, again, are not based on statistical analysis, simple observations, nor from historical accounts of real people's fate.
One of the factors about SIDEREAL Scorpio that IS consistent, by ascension at birth, is the 15 degree point (9 degrees of the Tropical Mutable signs), also contains the first magnitude star(s) that are also, close to the Solar ecliptic, Antares, and its opposite Aldebaran, at 15 deg. Taurus. That people who have, say, 11 deg to 16 deg. of any fixed Sidereal sign ascending are mataphysical naturals, that is, the concepts of metaphysics is a natural element in their thinking. Most all competant Astrologers have usually, one of three major factors in their nativities that mark them as being such: (1) 15 degrees of any fixed Sidereal signs ascending, (2) Moon or Sun to Uranus contacts, (3) Uranus on an angle ,or aspected to another planet that is on an angle, of the birth chart, and especially if Uranus is ascending.
It is personally believed, after 32 years of research into Sidereal Astrology, that when the interested public learn to reject such unproven etherial teachings and also begin to demand verification of these ideas through simple statistical analysis, that Astrology will not be accepted by the more practical folks of our society, and it will be generally relegated to those who are believed to be out of touch with reality, who subscribe to such unproven ideas. That , whether they are or not, is moot, the point that is trying to be made here is that Astrology is as practical a science as any other metaphysical discipline, but it needs a chance to prove itself by those who are interested in promoting its metaphysical facts through historical research.

Thanks for your replies you guys! To clarify, the book didnt state that ALL scorpio ASC's lose their first spouses to death, but it stated that there was a strange occurence of a number of people w/ scorpio risings who lose their first spouse to death...weird coincidence.
