Oh. My poor Magnus. I will tell the short version here, for the whole story and pictures of this handsome fella see his thread http://mysticwicks.com/showthread.php?t=68532&page=2&pp=10. He is a rescue and he came to us at two yrs old. He was not neutered until last week. He is now so swollen he can hardly walk and he doesn't want to sit because it hurts. He is taking medicine to reduce swelling and we are doing warm compresses. I feel so badly for him. Please send healing thoughts.

Cold compresses!!!

Swelling creates heat you want to cool it off so the swelling goes down.

Sorry to butt in, I have 4 dog, 3 cats a rabbit a baby squirrel that's mom died and 4 rescue dogs looking for homes. I am at the vet at least once a week.

warm compresses to stop the swelling, not reduce it but stop it from swelling more. The cool compress would relieve it but not stop the swelling. thanks for looking out for us though! the medicine will help it go down. he is doing better today. not as swollen and in a much better mood. :)
