I've tried looking for a discription of how these classes are supposed to work, but have not yet sen a discription of the general process. Anyone care to explain how one joins a class, what it generally entails, etc?

There should be intro threads the teachers post and you see what they are about/what the classes are about.
Then you simply sign up and begin taking the lessons. Usually the teacher will give you the "go ahead" to do so via pm or respond to your signup in the thread you posted in. Some teachers may not allow new students mid-teaching period. Some do. *shrug* Depends on the teacher/class being taught.
HTH!

Most of the classes you can join at any time, and play "catch up" if you want to review the lessons that are currently posted.
Otherwise, if you want to wait, I believe that most of the teachers will be restarting their classes once the current sessions have ended, and the current classes will be archived for review.
If you are interested in participating in a particular class, you might try PMing the teacher, and asking what you would need to do to join the class. Most of the various classes have sign up threads as well.
Other than that... they are pretty much a work at your own pace type of deal I believe... with usually a few days to a few weeks between each lesson.
If you are interested in TEACHING a class that is not already offered, you can start a thread here with the topic, and an idea of what you would be teaching, and see what kind of interest it would generate. Then, you send your syllabus to Morr/Mol to get it approved and get your COT section set up.
Hope that answered your question!

Kalika, you actually answered a lot of questions I was having about classes. Thanks. I'm signed up for two of your classes, btw. I'm really looking forward to them :)
