So the following is something that happend last week. I asked various people what they thought this was and I got so many different answers, Gandhi was right, there are as many religions as there are people. :)

so anyways...

Both my brother and I saw it and on different days, but currently in the spot in which I sit at the computer in the dining room. We both thought we spotted a dark figure moving across from the dining room to the kitchen. Perhaps it was simply a glimpse, but I know the veil between worlds is becoming thin (it gets thinnist during Samhain). We both got a little scared when he mentioned it. I didn't even mention it, he brought it up. When I first saw it, I was afraid b/c I was in the midst of dancing in the livingroom (it's pretty big) and doing a little energy raising (like I always do).

I also wondered if it had anything to do with the flickering of lights in my home when I came back from the NY Renaisance faire which was about two weeks ago. I was online and all of a sudden, the dining room light began flickering as if the washing machine was on and it could have been a power surge. So I proceeded to go downstairs to check to see if anything is on and lo and behold, it sounded as if someone was rolling on a bunch of bubble mailers! I saw no sparks, but it sure sounded like a fire could have started and all the lights in the house were flickering.

I hurried and undressed from wearing my garb, but some clothes on and stood outside of my house. I called my mom to come home immediately b/c I was frightend that it may have been something. I was so paranoid! What really got me scared was when I was tlaking to my brother on the phone and all of a sudden, we got cut-off and I heard my own voice echoing. That only happens on our phone when the speaker is turned on and that was all the way inside. I was afraid enough not to even look through the front door window b/c I didn't want to see what I was not supposed to see. lol I had my dog with me and everything.

Supposedly someone spoke to my dog (upon my permission) and my dog supposedly told him we live upon an ancient burial ground. I am scared of cemetaries, but for some reason, I didn't really care at the time. The only reason why I believed him was b/c I spoke to a man who knew a great deal about my area which is relatively new. He said that we could perhaps be living over caves. Immediately I thought catacombs like that in Paris, France. :whatgives

Normally, I simply ask my spirit guides and angels to make sure the spirit gets sent properly and with no harm. I also combine it with techniques I've learned from Doreen Virtue's books. I know I do a lot of spiritual things in my home and most especially my room, but it is usually with white light and I always protect myself and take necessary precautions.

Something to Consider....

I have been talking to a few people in our neck of the woods. It would seem there are what can best be descriped as "ripples" flowing down the Lay Lines, causing periods of both quieting and eruptions of energy in sacred places and with various people's Sensitivity.

Regardless, there are many occurences in this area along the lines of what you experienced, and some far worse.

I haven't discovered the origin of the ripples whether they are natural or someone(s) did something profoundly foolish. But this is something I am dealing with in my area, mayhaps this is effecting yours.

I've had many many many experiences in this dept... that is why i came here to MW... to figure out WTF is goin' on... I've gotten great replies on the subject... I guess what it is, is I'm empathic... so I have great sensitivity... but not just for the living... but for spirits as well.

The last few days I've been gtting freaked out while driving- I thought maybe it was me being tired... before I saw them in the corner of my eye... but lately they like to walk out infront of my car (a distance ahead) where I could see them... like a dark shawdow walking... or even apparence with the same clothes they had on... like this girl who looked like she was wearing clothes from the '80's... just a glimpse and then quickly fade... This has happened before, but more recently more in the last few days.

Speaking of driving.. while my mom was brining me home from work yesterday, she mentioned visiting the grave of my grandfather who passed a few years ago. I told her that I'm afraid of cemetaries and I'm sure he can visit me anytime he'd like, preferably in a dream. Then I proceeded to tease her about how we might have ghosts in the house and soon after, the automatic locks on the doors opened. Neither of our hands touched the latches... hehe. I thought that was funny. She was terrified.:lol:

I already posted this on another thread so sorry for anyone who is reading it twice. I went to my coven meeting on Sunday and we discussed the upcomming Samhain. Right now there is an astrological influence going on where the veil betwen the worlds is thinner than normal at this time of year.. and it will continue to get a lot thinner as we approach Samhain. Our High Priest mentioned the name of it but i didn't write it down; I will be seeing him again tomorrow and will post it here. Anyway, he said that this is thinner than he has ever seen it and that the Elders are not sure just how thin it will get. Or if it will go back completely to normal after Samhain is past (astrological Samhain is in November). So we are all in for more ghosties between now and then.
We are actually taking all the restless spirits into consideration and doing something for them for our Samhain ritual.
And to answer someone's question.. yes I see and speak to ghosts, spirits etc and they will talk back if they are properly motivated. Sometimes it is hard to get them to shut up.

A lot of people are experiencing the "thingies" (I love that technical term) that they see out of the corner of their eye. You know the little buggars that move and when you turn to look at them they are gone. Well.. there has been more of them.. greater frequency, and they have been seen in brighter colors than the standard dark or white. And they are also coming in closer to the center of vision instead of being further out. In a room of 9 people 8 have reported an increase in the past several weeks.

Okay, my mom and I talked last night. First, she briefly mentioned she thought she saw someone walk by. THE SAME EXACT PLACE MY BROTHER AND I SAW THIS SPIRIT.

And then we proceeded to tell our experiences. She said one night she heard a constant tapping (okay, more like someone hitting the wall with their fist). So she got paranoid. :lol: And then she got up and walked around to see if it might have been my brother or I making noise in our rooms.

Nope. So she proceeded to sit back down and watch the late night news. Then again, she heard the noise. So she got up and she thought she heard it downstairs, so she opened the door and she continued to hear it. So she went down and the treadmill was on.

The problem is, the only way the treadmill can turn on is if you put the key in and turn it. Well, she had the key next to where she was sitting so it obviously was not in the machine.

So then I quickly told her that it could have been from that night where I said I saw the lights flickering. It could have been a power surge as the treadmill was plugged in. But mind you, there was no storm that happend before or after that incident the night I went outside my house. I mean, the speakerphone came on and no one was in the house. That was the night I was paranoid. :lol:

Any thoughts on that?

I have definately been experiencing more activity at my house lately! Usually I see our ghostie about once every few months, my husband never has seen anything or heard anything, and I never hear anything, but this last week, the DVD, TV, surround speakers and all turned off with both of us in the room, objects have been moved around almost right in front of us, and I have had the constant feeling of being watched. Also the other day while I was getting ready for work I heard this weird sound. It sounded like someone was turning our front doorknob (the knob is kinda loose on the inside so it makes a little metallic clinking sound after you turn it when you let it go), but when I went to look out the peephole there was no one there! I checked all of the windows on that side of the house and nothing. So I just went back to doing what I was doing and it came again! It repeated that scary sound about every 2 minutes until I was finished getting ready for work. It made me really jumpy and scared. That was one of the only times I actually felt relieved to be leaving home!

Okay...this has been our(me and my familys) experience in our house the past few months. I posted part of this in a diff thread so like anubis, sorry if your reading it again hehe
We've lived in this house our whole lives(me and my sister) and ever since we were little we've both seen ghosts..Before it was always shadows..I would see them in the hall or in the bathroom or in the corners of my eyes..but not often at all, at the most once a month usually less frequent than that. Well, they started coming around alot more often..making themselves noticed more.
First we started seeing the 'shadows' more..I would see them almost everytime I went down the hall with the lights off, and my sister kept seeing one in her room at the foot of her bed once her boyfriend went to sleep. I went out to the garage one night and in the window on the door where I would have seen my reflection I saw a little girl with curly blonde hair staring at me and when I turned to look again she was gone.
A couple of weeks after that my sister told me she saw the same girl somewhere else in the house. Then one night I had to move my bed,(its in a place its never been before) and that night when I turned off the lights to go to sleep everytime I closed my eyes I felt the 'shadow' ghost I see in the hall standing over me. The next night an ashtray fell off my dresser when it was pitch black(I was alone and it wasn't even near the edge) After that we decided to put up the video camera and see what happened at night..it was too dark to really see anything but it kept looking like someone was picking it up and moving it around the room(it was in the same place when I woke up)
The next day my sister and her b/f were in their room and saw that in the closet(by the foot of the bed where she sees the ghost) a pair of pants on a hanger was swaying back and forth(there was no breeze no ac, the other clothes werent moving at all and nobody had been over there) and went faster and faster til out of nowhere it went to a dead stop. Then later my sisters b/f saw what looked like a black dog(or shadow) run past him when he was in the garage..all the dogs were in the back of the house sleeping at the time. That same day I was sitting in my bed watching tv and I kept seeing a shadow in the corner of my eye behind me on the wall but it couldnt have been my shadow because it was small, probably the size of one of my pillows, and my shadow wasnt on the wall it was on the floor and my bed. So things like this kept happening, we hear things and see things all the time..and we were getting used to how much they have been around lately, but the other night my sis's bf was in the shower just letting the water fall on him and out of nowhere he heard a mans voice say 'So your moving huh?' (which yes we are like next month) and he said he got this really uneasy feeling and looked around, opened the shower curtain and no one was in the bathroom. Then giant goosebumps covered his whole body and he jumped out and was in his room in like 5 seconds..there was only one other man in this house when it happened and he wasnt anywhere near the bathroom.
Anyways lol sorry I got a little carried away there and didnt realize how much I had typed. But yeah thats whats been going on here..we started taking pictures and now have dozens of pics with orbs all around..I also think they cut the power to the house one night..I was the only one awake at the time tho and it is possible that all the power in my neighborhood went out although very unlikely, that only happens when theres a really bad storm and it was clear weather that night. We haven't had anything happen where they were flicking the nights or turning on tredmills hehe but they do move things and make stuff fall at night and it is getting to the point where we are having some kind of paranormal experience every day/night. If its because the veil is getting thinner, I'm kind of interested/excited/afraid of whats going to happen over the next month when it gets even thinner.

I've noticed more activity here, too. Other than constantly seeing little white and blue things moving out of the corners of my eys, burning through lightbulbs like crazy, and seeing a face in one of the downstairs windows for a second one night there've been two incidents that were pretty interesting...

Thursday night last week my husband had to spend the night at the hospital for a sleep study, so I was alone here with the kids. At about 10 I was laying in bed when I heard what sounded like one of the boys running in the downstairs hallway. I got mad and got out of bed and went downstairs to yell at him and no one was there. I checked around and one of our cats was asleep in the living room, the other had been laying on the bed with me when I heard it. So I went back upstairs and a few minutes later I heard it again. I sat up in bed to listen and immediately heard it again. I went back downstairs and I couldn't find anything that could have been making a sound like that. I could sense my grandmother nearby, but I know it wasn't her that made the noise. She seemed kind of amused so I just snapped at whatever it was to keep the noise down and went back to bed.

Sunday night I was really sick with a fever, and I know my grandmother was hovering near me the whole night because I kept dreaming about her all night and whenever I'd wake up I could feel her beside me. Now, my husband usually insists that he does not believe in ghosts, and he has never sensed them. He says he woke up at one point Sunday night and nearly had a panic attack because he could tell there was something near me on my side of the bed. He was facing away from me, so his back was to her. He says he can't explain it but he just knows there was something either laying on the bed beside me or standing beside my side of the bed. He mumbled something about something touching him, or something about the blankets, but wouldn't elaborate, he wanted to stop talking about it. He's freaking out about it now. I told him I wasn't surprised he would sense her this time of year and his eyes kind of bugged out and he didn't want to talk about it anymore. :lol:

I haven't really noticed any increase in activity, though I normally see the "spirits" or whatever you want to call them. I see them on a daily basis. Sometimes they look so real and other times its hard to even make them out. But now that I think about it, I have noticed them out in the open more (like on the streets). Usually i see them in more private areas, like a neighbourhood or a house. I really think its only because Samhain is so close. Or maybe its because more people are believing in them. Can't see something you don't think possible.

We have had a surge in spirits in our home lately too. I've been told I'm an empath also and when we have bad ones in the house boy do I get grouchy. I can't feel spirits much when I'm pregnant (senses are all off) but my husband has been feeling them and telling me about them. One was bugging our daughter when we put her to bed one night. So has anything strange happend to anyone lately? This morning after coming back from voting, my mom opened the car door to get something. And the locks on the car door tried opening 3 times. The doors were already open and unlocked. Maybe there was just a power surge going through the car or something. I'm not frightened by this stuff anymore though. I just see it as a little "I'm here" from the spirits. That is, if it is really spirits. If not, oh well. To be supersticious, today is the third day of celebrating and honoring the dead. (Halloween, All Saints' Day, All Souls' Day.):)

I haven't been too weird, but my boyfriend has been experiencing stuff with a ghost lately. It's a little girl that has talked to him in two dreams. In the first one, he woke up and saw her floating over me, and the second he had today, she told him her name. It was something Evans, but it was unusual, and apparently she needs some help. Well, he's not used to these things, and is freaking out. Any advice?

Perhaps your boyfriend should ask the spirit to speak to him through a dream. Ask the spirit what it is she wants for help. Ask him to make sure that she is clear in her request. Rowan, post a follow up...if you will?
