Ok, so I'm sure most people here know at least the basics of Buddhism, the Noble eightfold path, the Grave Precepts, etc. (If not I'll post it all in this thread.) Although I doubt many people really know that much about the schools of Yoga other than Hatha (the one where you tie yourself into knots). To get a bit of an idea of metaphysical Yoga, I'd recommend two books, "14 Lessons in Yogi Philosophy" by Yogi Ramacharaka, and "Autobiography of a Yogi" by Paramhansa Yogananda. I'd write about it some here, but most of it is so complex, and I'm so new to it that I'm not sure I could give a very good explanation of it here.

Yes I know most people think about hatha yoga when they think of yoga at all. But there are many different forms of yoga. Paramhansa Yoganda did Kriya Yoga. The autobiography book is very cool. I don't do yoga per se, but Qigong is essentially a Chinese form of yoga. It involves breathing and meditation to learn to work with your chi/qi In yoga they talk about prana, but in qigong they talk about qi. When I read a yoga book, I have to kinda translate things into qigong terminology, but they are essentially the same. Yoga or qigong can be a pathway to spitually evolve.

I've been interested in Yoga off and on. I've sporratically attended classes on campus, and found them completly without spiritual content. For them, it's a exercize form, not a health philosophy.
One of my life goals is to study more on Yoga, and hopefully incorporate it more fully into my life.
Thanks for sharing! I might check out those books you mentioned.
Blessings.
