What Do You Like To Collect??

I collect vinyl records, and I have over 6,000 LP's, 45's and 78's.
Two of my rarest records are 78's......Elvis Presley; Hound Dog
and Vernon Dalhart; Wreck Of The Old 97

I also collect Cats of all kinds....with shelves and shelves
around my apartment, and horse stuff too.
I have a large library of books on Pagan Traditions, etc.

I am also a big music collector..mostly Celtic

I have a TON of books. Once I get into an author..I buy almost every book they've ever written.

I used to collect horse statues and such. Bryer..and even Barbie horses.

And Bottles. I love collecting old bottles..or just pretty bottles. If I find a bottle that has a nice or unique shape to it..I'll take it home and paint it, often. :)

I've collected Carosel Horses since I was a kid.... the only one I have that I don't like it one my mom made for me, it's a musical one.. and I love it.. except for the music. It's creepy circus caliope (sp?) music.. and it creeps me out. It used to start for no good reason in the middle of the night, all the time. So I would just scream until my dad ran in and turned it off. hehe My big, bad daddy saving me from the evil carosel horse music. hehe I've since disconnected the stupid music.

About 5 years ago I started collecting turtles, cause I think they're sooo cute. :) I had a real one, his name was Mozart, and he loved music. When I would sit in my music room (where I kept him) and play my guitar, he would reach his little head up and stare at me for a few minutes and then start bopping his head along to the music. He would also blow bubbles in the water when I would play really hard rock on the CD player. :) hehe He was a doll. I miss my turtle. :(

I used to collect Care Bears when I was a little kid... I still have all of them, packaged up at my parents house so they don't get ruined, so maybe my kids can play with them someday. :)

I collect anime goodies (toys, games, dolls, posters, music, anything! I want! hehe)

I also collect porcilain dolls, I've been collecting since I was 9 years old.

Rocks (like from streams or the ocean), books (mostly sci-fi or fantasy), tiny glass figurines (I have everything from faeries to teensy tiny dragons to a tiny tiny purple-accented glass castle, all in a gold-trimmed glass box with a mirror on the bottom. And they're TINY! The castle isn't more than an inch tall! hehe

I collect anything pretty that I can get my paws on hehe. if I was rich I'd collect art. . . until then, I just have to make my own! ^_^ so I guess you could say I collect my own art.

I also collect online anime pictures and such. . . MP3s too!

I call everything a collection! It justifies having so much "stuff"! :p I'm proudest of my collection of sand. I have little bottles of sand that people have brought me from all over the world. It started about 13 years ago when a co-worker went to Hawaii. He asked what can he bring back for me. As a joke, I said sand. As a joke, he did. He brought me a little bag of sand, with a seashell & a tiny dead crab from the beach. He almost got left at the airport by the custom inspector who wouldn't believe him it was just sand! Soon, other friends & family were bringing me back bags of sand from wherever they've been on holidays. I don't even know how many bottles of sand I have now.

Let's see... I think about 200 CD's atm - most CD's are metal CD's (such as Opeth and Anathema), I've got a few ambient CD's of Mortiis too (I think a LOT!! of people will love this type of music..)

I have rocks. Big rocks, little rocks, plain rocks, pretty rocks. All sorts of rocks. Oh, and sticks. Lots of sticks. My kids bring them (the rocks and the sticks) home. :D Oh, and lets not forget plants. I 'rescue' plants. Oh, and figurines (lead, etc.) I used to paint them. Books are always good. Can't have too many books. And a few years ago I started collecting computer parts. lol Can't seem to have too many of those either. Oh, and decorations. Any kind of holiday decorations. We're into holidays around here. Do shells count? I've got lots of shells. Oh! And crafty things. Anything I can possibly use to make something else someday. I'm sure there's others. I just can't think of them right now. ;)

My dad calls me a pack rat. Says I get it from my mom. I just think I'm diversified.

Years ago Dad told me not to invest in jewelry , but to invest in coins so now I have quite a collection of old coins most are framed.

My music collection is over 250 cd's 400 cassettes and I have 40 8 tracks and still have about 20 vinyl albums including an original Hendrix and Hank Williams Sr. My music varies like my moods
I have music from BB King to Patsy Cline from Metallica to John Denver I have old Blues, Jazz, Metal, Country, Alternative, Classical, Bluegrass, Bubble gum pop, Raggae, and Rock.

My pride and Joy collection is my Santa's My dream is to someday have my Diningroom be christmas all year with a real tree and decorate it for every holiday but the china and everything else be christmas. It was the one Holiday growing up that everyone was always in a great mood no matter what so that is why I want one room of memories to last all year!! I have over 150 santa's.

Sherry, we have begun a small gargoyle collection. The kids even have Guardian Gargoyles that watch over them while they sleep.

Dria~ LOL at you too- I have a *HUGE* collection of rocks and sticks...from my kids. I bought a large clear plastic bowl that I keep by my front door. Whenever we find a special stone, now we have a place to keep them.

We also collect anything Disney. I have some fabulous collectibles and special (non)collectibles. Anything Disney goes in my house!

I have imports, vinyl, photos, backstage passes, videos...you name it and I've probably dropped a bank roll on it if it's Bon Jovi. I once spent $5,000 to fly to Florida to meet him. Well worth it I might add!

I collect cartoon glasses. I started with the Smurfs for obvious reason. My collection has ballooned from there. At last count and not checking to see if the cats broke any last night, I had 146 different glasses and many duplicates of more popular ones. My favorite are my Shirt Tales set (anyone remember that cartoon) and my Star Trek set (not really a cartoon, but I still likes um'). I like collecting these because they bring back childhood memories, and they can be found relitively cheap.

Thats awesome! I collect everything Mr. Big. :) My friend Kori had vanity plates on her jeep... they said "Bon Jovi". hehe Do you have the Crush DVD or video yet? Incredibly cooool. I have a pretty rare video from something they did in Japan in like 1986. I got it from an old friend of mine, he was in Japan for work. If I can get my other VCR fixed, and if you'd like it, I could probably make you a copy of it. :) I love Bon Jovi.

I collect dragons. I have a mad passion for dragons. Dragon Tarot cards, dragon posters, dragon statues, dragon toys from Lego and McDonalds, dragon socks and shirts, I even have a series of dragon pictures that I've reproduced in watercolour, pencil, chalk pastels and acrylic.

I collect Fairies...I only have 13 at the time but the collection is growing. I recently found a mirrored wall shelf in an antique shop and it is the perfect home for my "girls". I also have fairy posters in frames and some nice prints, postcard size and as big as 14"x16" not to mention the fairy books and journals and tarot cards!! I also transformed a plain old floral painting into a fairy wonderland by cutting out some fairies from paper book covers and gluing them onto the painting, you would never know, even on close inspection, that they were not part of the painting.

I also collect tea cups, I have a good head start with the collection because they were handed down from my Grandmother.

I've collected many things over the years...When I was pretty young, I loved collecting bookmarks. Somewhere in the abyss that is my room there is a shoebox full of bookmarks. My favorites were the ones from "Animaniacs." I also used to collect rocks, stones, and gems. (And fossils, but I only had a few of those.) There's a place in New York called Rock City that I used to love. I used to collect keychains, too. I've always collected books. My room is overrun with them. I haven't read many of them! Now online I collect pictures of good-looking people, whether I know them or not. :rolleyes: And I also like necklaces, rings, bracelets, etc. All have to be silver, though. I have a ton of CDs and tapes. And finally, I collect funny/weird/meaningful quotes.

I collect playing cards. Pretty ones. I don't go for the Elvis or CocaCola themes :) Since I do my divination with playing cards I've taken to collecting them, both because I love the feel of them, they can be awfully pretty, and it gives whoever I'm reading for a more personalized feeling if they choose what deck they want used.
I also collect jewelry, because, well, I make it, and have so many good ideas that I"m afraid if I give it away I'll forget what I did! ;) Oh, and cats... have 3. Hmm... And clothes.. Trying to stop that. Negative feelings... trying to stop that too :)

Elephants, elephants and more elephants. Shirts, boxes, necklaces, ties, pins, shoes, posters, and especially figurines. I have boxes of 'em stashed away in the garage, plus a whole bookshelf full of my favorites I keep on display. I also collect Ganesh statues, and consider him to be my patron God in a lot of ways, I love Ganesh - even named my house after him to thank him for all his help in getting the place. :)

My favorite figurines are the old ones, old brass and old wood especially. Dad found a really old iron one at a garage sale for me a couple years ago that I'm very fond of. My favorite piece of the collection though is a little oval table, the base is a carved wood elephant. My Mom had that table since I was born, I adored it as a kid - my favorite chore in the whole world was to oil the elephant table. When I got married she gave it to me as a wedding present. :)

My collection grew quite a bit on my wedding day for another reason too - I didn't know at the time but my beloved grandmother also collected elephants for a long time and still had them stashed away. So she gave me her entire collection on my wedding day - all these really neat ones that my Grandpa had sent to her from all over the world. (He was in the Navy back in WWII) Some of those ones I know are very valuable, so I keep them packed away in a very safe place, really delicate asian ceramics and all my cats and dogs just don't mix!! Plus the sentimental value, I'd be crushed if any one of those were to be ruined.

Video games are my weakness. I collect arcade games, mostly ones from the early 80s. I've been working on making my basement into a game room - I can't wait to finish it. This is a hobby that definitely keeps you in shape. I also collect home video games, especially RPGs. I still have my Intellivision, Vectrex, Nes, Turbo Duo, etc etc and tons of games. I've never been able to get rid of the older systems. My inner geek is strong indeed. :nicetie:

I don't know if you'd consider CDs a collection, but I do try to collect CDs from certain artists.

I also have a small gargoyle collection.

Things I used to collect as a kid:

Star Wars stuff, mostly ships and figures. I still have just about everything I collected from when I was little. Once I get my game room done, I'm going to hang the ships over my Star Wars arcade games. :D

Matchbox cars - I still have them, but they're pretty beat up. I just couldn't bring myself to get rid of them.

Smelly stickers - I don't know what possesed me to collect these, but I did. I still have them, and they still smell. At some point I picked up a sheet of "Bad Breath" stickers. Why I would have wanted those, I don't know (they smell like onions, if anyone really wants to know).

Snoopy comics - digests, hardcover books, anything with Snoopy in it. Still have these as well.

Don't ever tell anyone you're collecting something. They stop giving you gifts and only give you items for your collection. :D

i collect comics, toys, comic/anime related statues... i used to collect beanie babies.. but i fell so far behind and totally couldn't afford to keep up.. but i'd probabably still collect them if i had a better place to display them instead of hiding them in a storage box in the closet... heheh....

honestly i collect anything that interests me... i have so much random stuff that i have almost no use for.

i finally got to use the coasters that i bought almost a year ago for a party i had last night for my birthday.. hehe...

i also used to collect buttons..like pins with pics on them... both the round ones and the metal ones as well. i have quite a few... but i also don't know how to display them without it looking tacky... not that my stuff isn't already tacky... hehe

I think that adds a little something to them.

Birthday dolls (my grandma would get me one for every year, though they stop making them at 18 years old l believe)
