I would like to know how old most of you were when you started to practice. I was just starting to talk when my father got me going. Just wanted to know out of curiosity. Duchess

I guess I'm a good example on why we need others to teach us right and wrong. I was using my gifts to manipulate people at a young age. When I really got a grasp on what I was doing to people I stoped practicing. I spent years unable to enter a graveyard because I could feel but couldn't block. I used to give friends hot seats literally and almost killed one when I absentmindedly channeled forgetting we were linked she was driving at the time. I've been practicing since about 8 but had no name for it until I was 27. Now I limit what I do. I also keep a good eye on my kids and what they can do. My daughter is a natural healer you hold her and begin to feel better she's 9 and yes she knows she's doing it. She's been doing it for about 5 years but it's all she does so far.

I'm pretty typical, so far as I can gather ... maybe even a little old? I was fifteen.

I started as a toddler, I saw fairies and knew how to fly.
Then, as usually happens, school knocked it out of me. I rediscovered the magic when I was 19.

When I was a kid I loved the Gods and Goddesses. I knew all of the classical ones and some of the others.

I've been reading Pagan books since I was about 18. Its been a few years and I've worked on other things i''ve had to, like my wieght and personal problems. I also didn't take it seriously then.

Now I'm 25 almost 26 and its so differtent now. I used to believe but didn't feel it. Now I feel IT, energy, life family. I see how its all connected and its coming so clearly sometimes. Its really been eye opening. I normally get things once they've been explained to me but I feel the right of what people say/discuss deep in my soul. Its great. The Goddess speaks to me unlike anything else. :cool:

I have been pagan all of my life. (And practicing my abilities without knowing others could do the same.) But I found that their was a religion that encompased my beliefs and started practicing paganism as a religion at about 14.

I was about 16 when I first found out that witches were real! I started practicing very shortly after, so it's been about 8 years now. Wow! Time flies when you do! :D

My powers manifested at around 5 years old, but I never did much with them- except weedling out of trouble and homework. I had some bad experiences with the Tarot as a teenager- my beloved best friend was not able to control her gift, and she hurt her friends terribly. I grew up in LA, and it seems there was a lot of metaphysical experimentation going on, along with the freelove experimentation- this being the seventies... There was the Bodhi Tree Bookstore, and the Sorcerer's shop- and Dennis, the eponynmous sorcerer, who cured my heartbreak with a single Tarot card. (the Crowley Queen of Cups, a very watery woman)
I have gotten serious only recently, though. I haave been making ritual tools- Athames and wands and scourges- for 4 or 5 years now, and my love of my physical craft is drawing me into the metaphysical craft. The hard part is reconciling my Atheist, Sceptic nature with my desire for spiritual peace... and realising that I DON'T have to do it all alone.
