Has anybody else used their pets in connection with Tarot? For example, last night my cat picked out two cards, and I found the meaning of them VERY quickly, and it made complete sense. Am I just spining myu wheels, or do critters have a talent for picking cards too?

Um, have you seen my site? LOL :D Yes, pets do love the cards. Especially cats who often like to sit on them and will try to eat them if you're not careful. :)

I used to have a couple snakes. One of them, not the other, had an energy that seemed to help with reads. If I held the snake for awhile before a read or left him on the table during the read, I could always get more details and insight into the read. He died awhile back but I keep some of his shed skin with the deck.

My little Gracie has to "help" me whenever I get my Tarot out. She'll even crawl up and nest in the drawer with my tarot decks if I leave it open for her. Animals are very much more in-tune with energies than most of us mere humans. My cats and husky all seem to delight in being around anytime I'm doing anything "metaphysical"--be it tarot, working with herbs, or actual ritual and spellwork. The last time I had "assistance" with my cards though, I wound up with 6 decks in a pile on the floor...and a gleeful Olivia scattering them to the four corners of the house.....

I've never personally had my cat in the room for a tarot reading (of course I'm still just starting out and I think she'd distract me!) but she is very intuitive and points out a lot of symbols that I wouldn't otherwise get in daily life! So I'm sure if I let her in while I'm reading she'd be of a great help ;)

I have an American Eskimo dog who will draw cards for me. I spread them out and she takes her paw and pulls the cards she wants. She's good too!
I haven't tried it with my lab husky mix yet, but I have a feeling that she is going to be another tarot card dog.

I used to know a woman who did readings with her parrot. the bird would walk across the table and pick the cards. She used to give an option with her readings that either she would draw the cards or let the parrot do it.. the parrot used to get more business than she did.

LOL...Been there, done that! One of my dogs pulled my tarot deck off the table the other day, and after I picked them up, I noticed one of them was missing. It took me a bit to find it, and it was #13...ugh, the Death card!

My dog chewed up my deck once. I came home to macerated cardboard all over my floor. My best deck, too. I threatened to turn her into a dogskin tarot bag, but she knew I was bluffing. She laughed at me.

Does that count? ;)

I can pull out any of my tarot decks when no cats are around and all are sleeping and three seconds later I have 8 of them all sitting on the table. I have to keep moving them off the table to use the cards.

Usually I end up putting up another small table, which they soon move to once I start laying out the cards.

I love my cats but I can't really do a decent reading here anymore. I am in the process of making a 'magic room' that will be catless because as much as I love them, they do tend to interfere more than I would like.
