Aaaaarrrgh! Don't do this to me! I can't afford another deck!
Thankfully, they're oracle cards, so I have a better chance of being able to resist them than I would a traditional tarot deck. But still, they're SO beautiful.

I know, the art work is awe inspiring! But, I'm so connected to my deck (The DaVinci Tarot) and my readings are more accurate with this deck than any other. But I have to say I'm tempted.....

That's another one I've been watching :bug:
My daily card for today was astoundingly on the spot.
I'm a sucker for a pretty flower deck, so this one is going on my list as well.

After seeing this thread repeatedly come up in my web stats, I had to thank all of you for your kind comments.......I would especially like to thank the starter of this thread, Sidhe. :)
The creation of this deck has been quite a journey for me, and I am absolutely and utterly thrilled with the feedback I have been getting about the deck from both individuals and companies who want to distribute it. I only wish I could hasten the process a bit, but I am very anal and everything has to be perfect and that takes time. ;)
Thank you all again, and if anyone has any questions about the art or the deck, fire away. I'd be happy to answer any and all questions.
Warmly,
Mindy Sommers

Welcome to MW, Mindy! I think your work is beautiful! I hope that you'll hang around, you might enjoy our Tarot forum. Who knows? Perhaps you will get some ideas for your next deck! You could have a whole line! Or if you had the art on fabric, you could create a Tarot bag for card storage....hmmm....the possibilities are endless!

Hello Sidhe,
Thank you for the warm welcome. :)
Funny you mentioned fabric; I do have my art on fabric. I have some throw pillows and table linens made from my art. You can view them here:

I would love to participate in the forum and get to know you all better. Knowing what my days are like with the rolling out of this new deck, I really haven't had time for much of anything except the cards. :) But hopefully in the future when things settle down a bit.
Thanks again for all the kind remarks about the work.
Warmly,
Mindy

:welcome: to MW, Mindy!
I adore this deck, and have started using it for my card of the day.
It's been quite accurate, and is just visually stunning.
Can't wait to have it in my little hands!

...truely!
The art is wonderful.
My card of the day was in answer to something spiritual, it gave me the answer of 'ascention'.
Love the picture.
It's an honor to have you here, thank you for bringing us something new and beautiful, thru your art.

Anyone who worships purple the way I do is definitely my kinda grrl. ;) Purple is not a color, it is a way of life. *heh* And every room in my house is purple. My poor husband succumbed a long time ago to the Power of Purple. :)
Thanks for the kind comments about my site and art. :)

Personally, I can't wait until Stephanie Pui-mun-law has her deck done and published...i dunno if you've ever seen her art (http://www.shadowscapes.com/), but it's ::wonderfull:: Her deck (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/10998209/)so far is gorgeous as well

Wow, that is beautiful! I can see why some people collect different decks. There are so many fabulous ones out there. And what a good thing that is! My problem is that if I had too many decks, I would never know which one to do readings with! How do you decide?

Beautiful work. I especially love the Heirophant as a tree, just lovely. I think I am more attracted to nature and non-people imagery; even in photography and art, I was always knocked out by lush landscapes and nature scenes instead of human portraiture. But you have superb taste, she is quite talented and the finished deck is going to be drop-dead gorgeous :)
I think as far as selecting a deck for a reading, it's an instinctual thing for many readers. Sort of like the psychiatrist who has a diversified array of methods for healing (Freudian, Jungian, Gestalt, etc) depending on the client and occasion, a card reader might select the deck they feel is appropriate for the person they are reading. Each deck has a decidedly different "feel" on many levels, different strengths and weaknesses, and they evoke different emotion. When I used to read professionally years ago, I would sometimes choose the Aquarian for some readings, the Rider for others, depending on my "feel" of what the situation called for. Some people just feel comfortable reading one deck, and I understand that, too. We all practice the art of reading very differently, and there is no right or wrong, only what feels right to us. :)

Beautiful deck, I agree. I need this one. Not usually drawn to oracle ones, but.....something about the card I pulled... and the words written for it... pulled at me. The descriptions that come up when you pull a single card, are those included with the deck or are they your inspiration and only shown on the website? Thank you for sharing your awesome talents :)

Hi Mystic Angel,
No, the meanings will also come in a booklet with the deck. Eventually, a full sized book will be available, but for now, there will be a booklet with the meanings you see on the site.
The events that led to the creation of this deck were very synchronous and unusual; simply put, I have no doubt that the meanings came from a source outside myself. If you go to the "about" section on the site, I have written the whole story, which you might find interesting given what you just wrote in your post. :)
Please feel free to ask any questions you might have if you decide to read that page. I'd be happy to answer any and all questions about this project, which is the closest to my heart of anything I've ever undertaken.

Purple is a way of life.
As well as a way of breathing!

Your art is beautiful!
Are you gonna be going into poster's or wall art with any of these?
i could just fall into them and stay there!

Hello Purple Goddess,
Thank you very much :)
Yes, purple is my favorite color. I think the world would be simply perfect if everything was purple. :)
Prints of all the cards are available both as posters and museum quality giclee prints. In fact, most of the images in my art gallery (http://www.peapoddesign.net/gallery) are available as prints. :)

Yes I do...
And 'Kramer's' my favorite character on that show.
But seriously, a coffee table book would be cool!
