Nope, not talking animals here! You and your SO: Do you have pet names for each other? :smoochypo
My husband calls me his BEBZ, or baby.
I call him Honey.
We each call each other Booboo.
The baby is Booboo, or Senor Crappy Pants, or the Diaper Bandit.
My older son is Bubba.

He calls me babydoll, I call him my 'puppy', that's about as sappy as we get. :smoochypo

Hehe - Yeah... I call my husband "Sparky" (reason unknown, it just suits him), and he calls me "Sunshine" (which is kind of funny, because I kind of have a dark personality)...
So there you have it - our embarassing pet names dumped on the table for all to see!

heh. I call everyone "hon". Even customers at the resturant I work at. For some reason, it's always seemed natural to me. Most people are OK with it, but occationally someone gives me a funny look. I usually just do it for people who are younger than me.
As for my SO, his name is "Nick-hon" or Babe. Likewise, I'm "Briggs-hon" or babe. Oh, and when he's in trouble or not paying attention to me, he's "Nicholas!!"
So, not too sappy in my opinion.

I don't car what you say, if you have a significant other, you use pet names!! Even if it's something small as "baby".

I call my husband "hun" or "sweetie"... I'm also the only person who calls him Jimmy, (his name's James).
He calls me "hun"....he never, ever, calls me by my name....it sounds really weird to hear my name coming out of his mouth.
The baby has aquired the nickname "Bubba"...don't know how that happened though. :)

actually, I have only had one boyfriend that we used pet names and that was the smallest: baby! He was the only one, before him, I swore I'd never do it, and I did it and after we broke up I swore I'd never do it again and I mean it this time

Hubby calls me Kayly...sort of a morph between my RL first name and my maiden name. Oddly enough, when he first used it on me I sort of blinked and went, "Huh?" because Kayly was the "kennel name" I had invented when I was raising and showing dogs.
I don't really have any obnoxious names for him other than the standard, "honey." I used to call him P.J. (first and middle initials), but he hated it. :p

Apart from the usual "babe" or "honey" etc, we actually come up with new names for each other every couple of months. Currently, we're he-bear and she-bear because of an episode of the Simpsons where some old guy says to his wife "No one understands you she-bear! rar!". He likes to suggest that no one understands me when I talk. :\ And so I became she-bear and he was he-bear. And then he started to Snoop Dogg it up and changed it to "She-bizzle" and then just bizzle and biz or the Bizzlator.
Next month, we'll probably have different names altogether, but we only call each other by our real names if we're a) calling to one another in a public place or b) really angry. ;)

Me too! He's only ever called me by my name maybe a handful of times. Everytime it comes out it takes me aback.
Me and his grandpa are the only ones who use Colin, for everyone else it's C.J.. And now with the baby having his name, that's the way it needs to stay!

Ugh! If people do use pet names and stuff like that, go do that somewhere else (a.k.a not in public)! I mean, it's fine if you're comfortable with it, but I think it's silly and unessesary.

My ex and I did.. ;) He'd call me "mi terroncito de azúcar" (you know those sugar-sqaures that you put in coffee) or "mi pastelito relleno" (like a cake that's filled with cream and stuff) and cheese things like that... :nyah: Hahaha. And then of course the normal ones like "mi amor" (darling), "mi vida" (my life), "mi cielo" (my heaven)..

Mmm...yes. We call each other "my sweet", my "love", and sometimes we'll add the Finnish suffix -ni, which means "my" onto each others' names, (So I would be Nikkini, he is Janneni) and I'll sometimes call him "darling". We tend to use each other's names a lot...which I like.

I call my boyfriend Pumpkin Head. Something I came up with at the spur of the moment and stuck. ( sorry E Shadowblade..but I love you!) He's got various names for me...one of which will be pretty colorful and humorous when he reads this.

I hardly ever call my hubby by his name. He is just "Honey, Babe, Baby or something like that". And to him I am just "Mom".
Both of my girls are called "Sissy".

He calls me honey... I call him Roggie (his name is Roger). When we're on the phone, I say Smoochie! to him and he whispers it back if he can.. he's in construction.. i guess it would be embarrassing for him to get caught telling me Smoochie poo!
He has called me honey so much, that when he calls me by my real name, I know I am in BIG trouble for something! :hearteyes

Sometimes I call him "honey". Yup, that's about it. Anyone who see's us out together assumes that we are 1)brother/sister or 2)only friends.
When we're being particularly playful I'm "his woman" and he's "my bi-tch".

DH calls me "grumpy" I really am not that grumpy, but when I had my hysterectomy before the hormones started working, I was . So the name stuck. We also call each other "bub" as in "Hey Bub , come here a minute" He started that also. Sometimes, when I am teasing him I call him a**hole because his father calls him that instead of his name. I have never heard his fathercall him anything else.DH knows that is the only reason I call him that. I also call him Babe or Sweetheart most of teh time.

most of the time it's honey or babe between me and my SO, as for my daughter she's usually Fruitbat, though sometimes she's midget, kid, babygirl, and together we are peanutbutter and jelly...she's peanutbutter and I'm jelly. :whatgives
