View Full Version : Energy for Preemie Baby

My mother-in-law called today, and she gave us the news that Vetteman's cousin, Allie, had her baby, but about 6 weeks too early. Things went from bad to worse during the delivery, and although thankfully the little one has all her bits and parts and doesn't require a ventilator, she is quite small, only about 3 lbs, and is being held in hospital until she reaches a more normal birth weight. Mum is doing fine, should be out in about a week.

So, please, if you have a bit of energy to fling over to the UK right now, there's a little baby girl who could use your kindest thoughts.

Thank you so much, my MW family. :hugz:

I certainly will. My MIL couldn't remember the baby's name, but Vetteman told me a bit more, as he remembers more of the convo. Babe is wiggling fingers and curling toes, and her little head in only the size of a tennis ball. AWWWW.....so sweet, so fragile.

I'll keep you informed as I hear more. Thanks!

DC, just after I had my baby another woman I knew had hers. She was sent into labor by her abusive husband at 4 months. Her daughter, Angelica, was born and 1 lb 3 oz. She is now, 7 months later, a little over 6 lbs. She didn't gain weight at first because she was too active so they strapped her (I felt this was cruel upon first hearing it but after some thought decided that this probably saved the little girl, who actually lost 2 oz right off). She was sent home last month, a darling miracle baby, with a mother that was scared to death and will cherish her as just that, her miracle, for the rest of her life. I will pray for the child until I hear she has been sent home.
My warmest wishes.

I talked with the baby's grandmother today, Vetteman's aunt. She said the baby, who is named Emily Grace, is doing great. She had lost a bit of weight, as all newborns are wont to do, but has gained that weight back and is working on upping her weight to the level where they will let her go home.

Emily's mum has been visiting everyday, and is allowed to breastfeed during those visits. Thankfully, she has been successful at expressing and is able to leave mother's milk behind for the feedings when she can't be there. Thank you!!!! Emily has a drip still, and is still in NICU, but she isn't in an enclosed incubator, she's in one of those half-lidded ones.

So, just a while longer, and when she reaches 5 lbs, Emily Grace can go home!!! Thank you everyone, for your energies, and good wishes for Emily -- it is obviously working.

I always hate it when babies have to come into this world struggling. If she doesn't need a ventilator that's a wonderful sign. She'll be just fine, as soon as she hits four pounds and is steadily gaining weight they'll probably send her on home.

I pray that little baby will be just fine and is strong enough to continue growing and can go home as soon as possible. And I pray for strength and comfort for the family.

I read the latest update on the baby, I have added the baby and the family to our Native prayer circle. We have lit a special candle for the baby and the rest of the family also. My daughter was born 8 weeks early. She is now 30 with 2 healthy children. Today they have come so far with the little ones when they come early. *Energy sent from the southeast coast of the U.S.A.*

From one premmie Grace to another:

Grow in grace and beauty darling, be strong.

I was also 6wks prem, my grandmother was prem, and all of my children have been prem.
Now she's made it out of the full incubator, there'll be no stopping her!

Maintaining their own temperature is among the last things they look for before releasing baby home.

Love and light to all the family!

Little Emily Grace is home! Vetteman talked with his mom today, and she said that although Emily hadn't quite made it to 5 pounds yet, she was doing so well in every other respect that the hospital couldn't justify not letting her go home, just because of a few ounces.

Mum and baby will receive midwife visitation daily during these first few weeks home, and then, I'm sure all will return to normal.

THANK YOU :hugz: :hugz: to all of you for your good wishes and healing energies. I know this is why she is home now, that and the grace of the Divine.

Thanks you all. :hearteyes

:hugz: We got to see Emily on our trip to the UK. She is doing a cracker fine job of being a baby, and is in great health. You'd really never know she was a preemie, just by looking at her. She does have a bit of a digestive problem still, which causes her to spit up more than normal, but other than that: YAY!!!! It was a lovely thing to get to bounce a baby on my knee again. I still have that "mama sway" down pat -- you all know what I mean!

I told both her Mum and GrandMum (Vetteman's cousin and aunt) that I had posted an energy thread for Emily and that folks from all over the world had posted and sent in energy and prayers for Emily -- GrandMum was very touched by all this, and a tiny bit choked up at the thought that her grandbaby had so many people pulling for her. Both of them wanted to say a big THANK YOU to the community for their energies sent on Emily's behalf.

And I, too, want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Thank you! So very much!
