I was wondering if anyone else here has read t his book and if they incorporate its ideas into their Pagan practice?
If you haven't heard of it, it's by Neale Walsch and the basic premise is that he starts to listen to his intuition and gets answeres to questions from God and he writes down this conversation, not after the fact, but as part of the comunication process. Anyway, it's very interesting, and it's not from a particular religion at all, it's kinda generic, but it does talk about the bible and how our expereince of God is more important than the "word of God".
One interesting note, the author sites Robert Heinlein as a source of inspiration saying "and the late Rober Heinlein, whose visionary literature has raised questions and posed answers in ways no one else has dared even approach." Heinlein wrote "Strainger in a Strainge Land" which is what the first ever incorporated Pagan church (in the US) known as The Church of All Worlds is based on (Oberon Zell's Church). So there is kinda a pagan connection there....
Anyway I'd love to hear if anyone else has read it, and how they incorporate the ideas into their pagan practice and what they might disagree with.......

I absolutely LOVE this book and think it should be required reading for all spiritual studies. This is a God I could live with, and honor. The way the 10 Commandments are explained here--I could get behind and support. And I'm about the furtherest away from Christian religion that you can get.
I have only read Volume 1 and would like to get the others.
This book doesn't teach anything THAT different than what I teach about spirituality. It is the same beliefs.

When I first saw this Wisdom Flash, I almost cried.
JMO and YMMV,

Hey, I've read this book too.....I read most of book 2 as well. I recommend these books and I think every1 should read them. This is how I got started in becoming more open with my spirituality. I love the universal consciousness discussion. I found myself renewed with new wisdom and knowledge after reading these books. I want to get volume 3. Thanks for the website, the flash is beautiful.
And I agree, this is the God I adore and worship forever.

Sounds interesting, athough if the Flash is anything to go by, it looks to me to be a bit of a 'new-age Christianity' type book (if you get what i mean). A bit like Christianity with a Thelemic twist (True Will, every man and woman is a star etc).
I might look into getting a copy so I'll reserve judgement until then.

Read the book years ago, but remember it as being not just reasonable, but logical. If a book about life and faith can be called logical. It was sort of like a man talking with his higher self and finally understanding.

Ive heard it in audio. I downloaded it a while ago.
At first i wass sceptical I thought it might of been a Christian thing, but it seemed more critical of Christianity, and i was thinking it may have gave that perception just to attract a more mainstream christian audience and get them to question there christian dogmas.
Ii thoroughly enjoyed it. It was good putting my headphones on and listening to it while in bed.

It was actually Neale Walsch talking to God. He began by writing a letter to God and then he felt his pen move by itself and started writing....God began speaking to him through his pen and he began having a conversation with God in paper. He asked God if he could make it into a book and God said why not.

I read the entire series (books 1,2,3) and I think it is awesome. My favorite part was talking about the school systems and how it is mainly facts based and doesn't allow a lot of personal growth when it comes to morals and all. For example, a class that not necessarily that eaches what is right and wrong, but gives students a chance to explore that.
But anyway, I think the book is simply Walsch and his ideas and exploring into his own mind. But if Spirit is within, then hey....:)
I personally don't care where he got the words he used to put into the book. The ideas presented in there are good and I don't see why we shouldn't try something new. :)

I only think it's written with a Christian emphais because that's the majority of what people are and also because God was speaking with a Christian. And ya it is kinda aimed at the new age Christian population, but many ideas in it parallel Wicca. First and formost it talks about beliving our experience that we ourselves have of the divine as being more true than what others tell us about God. Any Christian who takes the bible litteraly would not like Conversations with God at all.

So, how does anyone here incorporate the ideas into your practice of Paganism?
Oh BTW, I've decided that I would like to expereince having more than enough. It's kinda a big step for me because I always just ask for "enough".

At the risk of everyone thinking I'm insane :D...I do this too. "Someone" answers me who is much wiser than I am....and I listen. I've always thought of it as my inner voice or my connection with "God".

I don't think you are crazy at all. I get answeres from a higher place and I call it Athena. It doesn't happen while righting, just while thinking and usualy when I address Her and specificly.
