Well, of course people will complain about whoever won! ;)

People were griping about the same things before the election that they will be griping about after the election; Iraq, taxes, Iraq, social security, Iraq, abortion, Iraq, etc.

Bills. Food. Rent. Lots of stuff.
I have to ask: what exactly is falafel, anyway?

I think it's a taco that's been stepped in. Because you don't step on a taco, you step in it.
Expect more debate like this in a month. :thumbsup:

Main Entry: fa·la·fel
Pronunciation: f&-'lä-f&l
Function: noun
Inflected Form(s): plural falafel
Etymology: Arabic falAfil
: a spicy mixture of ground vegetables (as chick-peas or fava beans) formed into balls or patties and then fried
Falafel and falafeler, however, are completely unrelated...

Okay, so what's a falafeler?
I think this is a good example of what we'll be talking about in a month.

Duh! And the lawyers will get rich. . .just like in 2000. I have heard one party already has lawyers lined up. . .haven't heard if the other has, but I figure they do. What a shame/sham.
But other than politics. . .what will people have to gripe and moan about? Or just talk about?
It seems during election seasons, with people being what they generally are and being so married to their own ideals and opinions. . .things get nasty because they are perceived as personal many times. Fortunately, I am not as thin skinned as some think, so it does not affect me nearly as much as people might think (my dad was a politician for nearly 30 years - I have some stories to tell, but won't {if the price is right}).:muwaha:
So, given that the war and the election will be constant companions on the news. . .what else do you think will be on our minds?
Putting on my "Carnac" hat, I am thinking
1) gay marriage/civil unions (since it will be safe to talk about it politically for another couple of years) and inheritance/insurance rights;
2) vehicle mileage standards and emissions controls with the possibility of standardizing gasoline mixtures across the country;
3) education and safety on campuses; and
4) the Oil for Food debacle.
Thoughts? Additions?

Do you think they'll be discussing it in Political Pagan?

People will continue to gripe about the things they already gripe about - Social Security, the economy, gas prices, and, of course, the war.
I can't wait until this election is over. I work with Neo-Con BuPickletes and work has become a battle ground. My co-workers versus my boss; me in the corner with my head in a book trying to avoid it altogether. And on top of it all, I live in South Florida <groans> so you know what's going to happen here. Both parties have their lawyers lined up already.
(But I secretly hope Kerry wins just so my smug co-workers will shut up about how Bush is going to win because he's a strong leader and he's what America wants. I'm gonna go puke now. Then I'm gonna eat some falafel.)

Needless to say, this is on my mind: California badmouthing other states and Canada for "stealing" its film and TV productions through tax benefits.

Well, seeing as how anything in Amaerica worth talking about is also being discussed by politicians, it's hard not to politicize an issue. Everything on your list is something that could be thrown around in PP. All of the things on your list (which is pretty good, btw) are already being discussed, and will still be newsworthy after the election, although the war will continue to be the top story.

That's a BuPicklete with the new word filter. :fpatricks
sh*t = Pickle, because the filter takes words that are within words.

Both sides have lawyers in place in case of a repeat of 2000.
As far as what to talk about hmm...
Iraq, Holidays, Economy, Weather, Boring Court Cases, New Fad Toy, Movies and probably Iraq. As well as complaining about whomever wins.

So then, when we call someone who approves of Bush a Bush-ite we have to spell it that way otherwise it becomes BuPicklee?
**edited to add** Well, that answers *that* question.
And what about Shitake mushrooms?

Apparently, because I orginally type Bush*ttes. And the filter picked the word out. That's a really dedicated filter. LOL.
