If you could live in a tiny village with 100 other people and it was nice weather all year round... rolling valley hills.. cattle... you could wear beautiful old fashioned gowns.. you dinned at tables of 20 people for dinner outside and you had bonfires everynight. If you could .. Would you live like this?

I think finding 100 other people I like enough to consider living like that "heaven" is adding 80+ too many people lol. But then, yeah, I would live like that, as long as I didn't have to wear a dress. And got to have horses. I would miss snow though.

heh. Fiiire. Yeah. That would be the biggest incentive for me to live like that.

Nope. Sounds way too peaceful for me. Might be a nice vacation spot, though.

I guess I would like to live in such a village, though I doubt I would be able to handle cattle :T

Yes, utter heaven.
My life-goal is to have a dairy farm, you know :D

It's bathrooms I would miss. I really need hot showers, toilets that flush, and come to think of it....most of my household appliances. I can't see myself washing clothes on a rock by a stream :ugh:

I was thinking the exact same thing! Fewer people, no dress, gotta have a horse, but I wouldn't miss the snow. :)

I dont think i would... because i was raised in a large family ; on a farm.. there were always at least 14 of us at the dinner table and after dinner we always sat outside and talked and played music it was a wonderful way to grow up. But I am too attached to the conviences that i have now i dont know if i would be able to let go of them. It would be like a 30 year smoker going cold Turkey i would be a real old Witch** if you know what i mean **

I would have to think about this. I often dream of a simpler time without all the hussle and bussle of today's lifestyle. Certain things like toilets, hot showers, Krispy Kream donuts, Starbucks would be really, really missed. However, getting calls from work during dinner would be a blessing!

Peace!

You bet I would... except I don't know if I'd wear an old-fashioned gown. White just isn't my color. :whatgives

I said yes, but in reality i probably wouldn't like it. I'd have no money to spend on books (which i just couldn't cope with), and i'd have to take my mountain bike with me. Plus, i think i'm a bit antisocial. I hate making an effort to get along with people, which would make life quite difficult sat around a table of 100 people.

Could I have internet and tv? Access to any modern convenience within 1/2 hour? If not, then no I wouldn't, if yes, then yes, I would.

I wouldn't want to wear gowns, no.

Personally, I wouldn't mind the community and dining ideas, but the whole beautiful gowns and such doesn't really suit my fancy. I'd rather people just dress normal.

I chose no, not because I would miss internet & tv but because a) I like having seasons (lots of rain, snow in the winter, warm in the summer) b) I don't like to wear gowns c) I'd rather have a village dinner with more people.

It's close though! _cloud9_ The bonfires sound nice, as well as the small town.

My dream: To live in a village, everyone is Pagan (or at least accepts Paganism in all it's forms), have huge rituals, lots of mead, bonfires, castles, rolling hills, men in kilts, women in simple cotton dresses, and lot's of children running around.

It's a good think I'm going to Ren Fair tomorrow to get my fix :viking:

Oh, I wouldn't mind living in the old days as long as I can bring my futuristic items:
toothbrush, toothpaste
tampons
deoderant

I wouldn't go. I like the city. I like noise and chaos. I like action. I like out current technology level. I do like quiet time once in awhile, like sitting in a park or hiking in the woods, but I don't want to live that way.

At the opposite extreme, I'd be very comfortable living in a no-tech environment, a primitive live-off-the-land type of existence. Lots of action with a lifestyle like that.

And we should be able to wear beautiful old fashioned gowns whenever we want to. I happen to be wearing one right now. I feel pretty.

I choose no on the sole basis that I have lived in a village of exactly 98 people before. You can get tired of them real quick...

*contemplates* well.. I used to live in a village of 200 people...

It depends if it were people I already knew or not. If it were people from here, then that would be okay. If it were people I didn't know, there would be an up and down side to that; I would be able to start anew... buth I might not get along with all of them. That could start rumors because some people just can't keep secrets. :shhhh: _tsk_

I think I would do that. It would definately take a while to get used to taking baths in a barrel or something

Wait... did we say an old time village? Because if it was still modern like, having bathrooms with hot showers and toilets that flush, I would do it in a heartbeat! We would just dress differently and live differently.

*starts thinking about starting a community like that... *

I guess I would also... IF they were 100 of the most awsome people... that I could stand to live with...

Like most here, I would say yes, but I'd have too many stipulations. Coffee, toilets, book stores... And come on.. when it comes to people with kids.. what do you want to do, have a washer and dryer and Huggies or wash little cloth diapers by hand??

Yes,yes, yes! As Avalon said,"when are we moving"?It would be a total heaven..Especially if the 99 other persons where Mystic Wickers and not persons from my own city.
I would miss my tv and internet but I would definately sacrifice them to live there!

Maybe for a week, then I'd miss everything else. ;) I think most people would even though they don't think so.

it would quickly turn into a nightmare, as people try to recreate what they knew from before...
or as people are trying to get to power, establish authority and their own rules on others...
...doesn't seem at all peacefull to me.

Nope...for all it's ills, I prefer living in a bigger city now, and while I would like to make my home in a smaller city than this, I definitely don't 'do' small towns very well. I get creeped out by very tiny towns.

Hummmmm I am moving to Vancouver next year where the temperature is about the same year round. I honestly do not think I could let my internet go and I like plumbing and bath tubs and showers and appliances in a kitchen and washing machines.I think I have become too modernized to go back to that.I grew up on a farm with outdoor plumbing so I know what thats like.

I voted "not" but not b/c I would miss my tv & internet. I would live OUTSIDE a community like that. But I'd rather live on the outskirts alone than be in that close proximity to others that could get to know me that well. I just don't like ppl that much.
