it's a haunted prison. they filmed shawshank redemption there... and several other movies, a godsmack video.. etc. it is on the family channel today... i'll look for a website to put a link up...

i'm just a little overly excited.. lol. i have a fascination with hauntings, there is a fantastic haunted house near newark ohio.. unfortunately it is a privately owned property and no public info is available, it houses the angriest spirits i've ever come across... and i'm anxious to find out if mansfield is worse. :D

i live about 1 hour from mansfield and my mother in law lives in shelby. She has ben there but never mentioned cameras so I do not know if they are allowed. She said it was creepy. you'll have to let us know what you think!

yep. in moundbuilders park. they aren't really that fantastic. i used to live in newark and when i went there i quickly became convinced they were nothing special. i didn't pick up a single thing there.

hmmm..... I've read that they are mathmatically perfect(amazing considering) and that every 18 or so years the moon rises match up perfectly or something like thatI just think that is very interesting.... I hope you have a great time in Mansfield! My family and I vacation in loudonville during he summer. I always get feelings on our hikes that something is there.

I just watched a thing on that on the Travel Channel today. I would love to go. I assume that they do allow cameras as they showed the most awsome picture that was taken there. A man started to feel sick so they took a picture of him. He had a white mist over his right shoulder that wrapped around behind him and over his left shoulder, up his left arm, and up to cover half his face, as he had his hand up on his forehead. I found the whole segment on it to be vastly facinating. It was one of the ten best haunted places to visit in the United States. I was just telling my sister tonight that I would like to see it. Do be careful, and let us know how it went.

I'm in Ohio and I new some people that went to that stinking hole called Mansfield! There's no way that I would ever go there voluntarily! I watched that program about it too,and it almost felt if they were trying to shock people and it made me a little angry. If they only knew what happened they wouldn't have went there at all! And yeah,you're gonna hear things in there because of the accustics. They also talked about Athens Ohio on that show...another place I wouldn't wanna be! I'll stick to the little haunted town that I live in! The junior high school I went to,and a park where a bunch of civil war guys died, is supposed to be haunted,but I never saw anything.
