Brother with Cancer

Please send healing energies to my brother, Wayne. He is 50 and was just diagnosed with colon cancer. He will be having surgery on November 9th to remove a tumor the size of a golf ball at the ileum. There is concern that the liver may be involved as well.

He is a grandfather, father, husband, uncle, brother, and son and is a good person.

I would appreciate your effort toward his healing and recovery.

A quick update!!!! The report came back from the tests and it looks like no other organs are involved!!!! So while he will lose a good portion of his intestine, there will not be a need for a colostomy and hopefully no need to remove any other organs. . .

Please keep him in your prayers. The surgery will be November 9 at 7 am in Nashville. . .

Thank you all for your prayers and energy. The surgery was a success. They removed about three feet of intestine and some lymph nodes that looked swollen. The tumor was the size of a golf ball and no other organs were involved that the doctors could see.

The pathology report will be back in a few days, so we will see what outcome there is then.

He is resting and has an epidural. They are afraid one of his lungs may be trying to collapse, so they have him moving around alot. . .which is painful for him. . .but better than the alternative.

Sending energy to you and your brother. Is that Nashville, Tn? I am from Tennessee.It is. He lives in Gainsboro, but is in Nashville for treatment.

The word today was not good. Three of the nineteen lymph nodes came back positive for cancer and there is not going to be any chemo. . .the doctors said this type of cancer does not respond to chemo. . . I think my mom said it is called adenocarcinoma. The prognosis is that 60% are still alive 5 years out.

Now we are all concerned about the possibility of Familial Adenomatous Polyposis (FAP) which is closely related as I understand it. . .or of Hereditary Non-polyposis Colorectal Cancer (HNPCC).

He needs lots of energy and support. . .strength and such. He as always been the strong one. When anything went wrong, it was usually to either him or me. We both have taken our share of beatings. . .he is really getting his this time though.

I appreciate all the good will and healing energy you can muster. . .he may be my brother, but he is a good person in spite of it (:rolleyes: ).

His wife, Cindy, and his sons, daughters-in-law and grandsons all need strength too...as does my mother who is there with them. Please keep them all in your hearts. . .
