I am having a rough time writing my own spells. Can someone share a "basic" outline with me of things it should include etc... :foopsies:

There are many differnt ways to do a spell. There are candles spells, witches's bottles, witches' latters, Poppets, and spells where you write something and burn it. What kind of spell did you want to do? Maybe if you decribe your intent, we can make some suggestions.......

Very basic outline:

A spell should include something to provide direction (what is to be accomplished), something that indicates the means by which it should be accomplished (for example, who is doing it? Are you asking the gods for help or elementals or etc. Or, as another example, if there are important restrictions in the manner of it being done such as "harm none" type restrictions), and something to provide energy/force to the spell/send it off. You can indicate all of these in many ways.

I meant the general element of writing the "spoken" part of the spell..... what should always be included (i.e. an harm ye none) It's like I have writers block. And a small fear of coming across as irreverent or "stupid" to the Goddess......

OOOOH the spoken/written part....

well, if you intend to memorize rhyme is always good...

I've heard "by the power of three, the God, Goddess and Me. So Mote it Be!"
and also "For the Good of All, and with harm to none. So Mote it Be"

Is this what you had in mind?

There really isn't any I'm aware of. It will depend on what you have set up elsewhere what needs to be said and what you want to accomplish (ie: if you believe in closing with a harm-none clause you would need it more than if you don't.)

It seems from your identifiers that you connect with Egyptian Goddesses, and I don't know if that would change your spell-casting template. Someone more knowledgeable about their specifics could possibly answer that.

What I do in spell-casting is to open with a statement of intent, invite well-intentioned beings to participate and exclude ill-intentioned ones. Then I address the specific beings I wish to attend and explain why I am asking for their participation. Then I present the statement of spell-casting to the assemblement--what I am doing, why, and to what purpose. There might be some action or charm to 'fix' or 'set' what I am doing as well. Finally, I dissolve the pathway into Spirit and thank the spiritual entities for their presence, ending the process. Then I generally have a beverage and snack.

Does that answer your question? I think that if we are well-intentioned our Gods/desses are pleased to listen to us, so sounding silly or saying something 'wrong' isn't a worry.

Writing it out ahead of time should help keep you from feeling flumoxed, perhaps.

Heres a suggestion to help you with your spoken part. Work your words of power out loud. It helps you rhyme, and will help with your writers block. Also... this is my favorite link.... http://rhyme.poetry.com. Its the rhyming dictionary. Quite helpful. :)

Write the spells however you want. There are no "most important" clauses except the ones you designate yourself. You don't have to rhyme; it just helps with the rhythm. You don't always have to include anything. You just have to make your intentions clear, and sometimes trying to find cutesy rhyming crap can deter that.
Really, your spells won't be as effective if you don't take the time to figure the art of writing them yourself. I learned how to write spells on my own, and they've been effective thus far. It helps if you just relax yourself and then say it as it comes to you. :)
