Okay, so tonight, Samwise was just ready to go to the store (we're out of drinking water--we don't drink tap water here, it's not very good) and I was in the bathroom. I hear him shut the door and as I turn around, I glance up above the mirror and there's this freakin' huge spider--we have BIG house spiders here and I'm an arachnophobe. This thing was rusty brown/red color, ugly as hell, and had at least a 3" legspan.
I do my usual scream/shout that I always do when I'm startled by a spider (not piercing, but you definitely know I have a voice at that point), and inch out of the bathroom, trying not to panic. I suddenly hear the front door open and there's Sam. He looks around for the Swiffer dry mop (they're GREAT for getting spiders--and I don't care if spiders are our friends are not, I'm not sharing my bathroom with anything that has 8 legs, especially that big). I said, "You heard me?" He laughed and said, "Yeah, I know the spider scream when I hear it. Where is it?" Then he got it and made sure it was long gone, and took off for the store.
My hero! Other women can have their knights in shining armor, I just want my man armed with a Swiffer and out to hunt down my eight-legged nemesis.

Glad to know that I am not the only one who screams in situations like that, I will have to tell Astron we need to replace our Swiffer :D

My hubby is great with lizards, spiders, cockroaches and other insects/animals. Now you may be wondering what part of the world do I live in where you get all such insects and reptiles on a daily basis? Well... _twohorns_
I completely freak out if I see a lizard in the house.. :hairraise And then, hubby hops in like a knight in shining armour and drives it away! Phew!! I love my hubby :heartthro

I could handle the lizards...but the spiders, no way. Funny thing is, if I think something's a spider I'm totally freaked, but if I find out it's only some beetle, I immediately calm down. Had some bad, bad spider experiences over the years, especially when I was young (lived in black widow country where they can be dangerous, especially if you have allergies).
(My MIL has geckos in her house, she encourages them to hang around...when we were over there some years back, I saw them running up and down the walls and they were cute little buggers...of course there were only two, not a lot).

Aww, way to go Sam.
Have you tried banishing spiders in general from your home? I have something I devised to get rid of gnats as they were everywhere one year, and of course soon as I work out all the details for it-poof! No more gnats.
I'm betting someone got a whole lotta Yasmine smooches though. :hehehehe:

UGH! I don't do anything that crawls!!
Lucky of you to have such a wonderful husband!! Mine laughs at me and tells me to get over it :( Then comes and removes it eventually...

My night in shining armor changed a tire at midnight in the pouring rain for me once.
I was working at the mall and when I came out it was raining and I had a flat. Since it was the mall, I didn't feel safe just changing it without someone to watch over me while I did it. So I called him and waited in the car until he came. When he got there, he wouldn't let me do a thing, just told me to sit in his car until he got the spare on. I told him I had planned to do it and I just wanted him there for safety. His response was "Now what kind of husband would I be if I just sat in my car and watched you do it all?"
He is so sweet! I hadn't been looking forward to changing the tire in the rain and as rarely as I have to do it, it probably would have taken me ten times as long as it took him.

That's adorable. I always feel a bit bad when I have to dispatch spiders (or yell for dad to do it)...I don't mind them out of doors, just not on me or in my house!
Or on the clothesline...or on a web across a path i'm walking on...or in a tree I need to climb...

You know, if they're outside, in their webs or not in my path, I leave them alone and hope that they leave me alone, but inside--nope...my territory and we aren't talking little here, some of the housespiders here are HUGE. :shaker:

Nah, because they're not that rampant--we have quite a few, but not overwhelming. If I felt it was time for that, I'd consider moving. LOL
