how do others deal with - say a tarot reading - that produces nothing tangible, nothing one can really happily serve up?

i have a bit of a problem with my handwriting analysing. handwriting analysis has nothing to do with esp per se, but is a science in its own right, yet a certain amount of intuition doen't hurt. the idea is one studies the various patterns of the writing and then puts all the pieces together. i've been doing this as a hobby for some 3 decades and still, sometimes, i look at a bit of writing - and it doesn't 'speak' to me. although i can clearly see the various traits, i can't for my life put it together.

there's always enough there to put present a report, but what i prefer is to reach the soul of the writer and even help out when i see a need. knowing the person matters little, i've waxed quite poetic about samples from some workmate's neighbour's second cousin's sister-in-law, yet occasional blank out on someone i thought i knew very well. why does one reach some people so easily and not others?

secondly: what does one do if one idly studies the writing of a classmate on the blackboard f. ex. - and there's a clear indication of suicidal or other harmful elements? i saw this a while back and although i tried in a roundabout way to approach the person she wasn't at all receptive. yeah, surprise. it left me with a nagging feeling.

any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

thanks![COLOR=darkblue][I]

Well, no one's 100% all the time. In my readings (& most of the professionals readers I know readily agree) 80%-85% on target is really good. Don't beat yourself up for being human...

As to the classmate... pray... send all the positive energy that you can... maybe offer to be as good a friend as you can be... 'cuz I don't think you can really do much else...

I read tarot in a shop and I have had experiences where I could not get anything on them for love or money. There was one girl inparticular, I'll never forget because she really wanted to know somethings and I was ready to lose my mind. I could not get a clear picture for her no matter how I tried. I've never read for anyone who was suicidal before but I did read for someone who was thinking of going back to a situation that would put her in great physical danger. That was really tough. I really had to put myself in check because my motherly instince kicked in and I just wanted to scream "NO, Don't do it!" But I had to remind myself they are there for insight into the future not advice. It's tough to draw that line sometimes.

I think forms of divination help us to see the pattern in people's lives. Some people though don't follow a pattern. Some people just don't have much of a path to follow, or are going through a period of confusion, or are just purposely avoiding their path in life, or are perhaps hiding themselves. In those cases, divination rarely gives meaningful insight.

And it can be even worse when we try to use divination to see the future, because the future isn't written in stone. All we can do is hope to see the most likely outcome. And in many cases, there is no one or two most likely futures.

So as helpful as divination is, I've found that every so often gibberish happens. And with as many possible reasons for why it can happen, it's really a surprise that it doesn't happen more often. Heh heh. :)

& cant belive Ive missed this the last two days.. I meant to write something yesterday but must of got side tracked.. anyway...

If I go blank, I explain and ask if I can try another spread/reading or another time.. sometimes its the person who's hiding sometimes its just you needing a break...

As far as writiting goes ~ Im sorry I cant help, I would love to leanr though ;) (hint, hint to start a thread here?)

But just as a thought ~ when I wrote on the black board my writting was totally different and messy ~ i dont know how teachers do it! So maybe there writting was different because of the size of the board and the unfamiliar materials aswell?

Do we have a 'lightbulb' in the smiles? :D

OK, I get what you're talking about...

Yes, some people are just exactly like looking at a blank slate. No matter how you try to penetrate their wall, it just ain't happenin' (or at least not without a MAJOR expenditure of energy). I think some people do it as a reflexive defense, some do it intentionally (at least with readers, to test you). There are probably a plethora of reasons. I barely have a clue as this relates to giving a reading; I'd be absolutely mystified trying to relate it to handwriting analysis.

It amazes me how some people come up asking for a reading then just sit there totally closed, not speaking or even looking into your eyes (this hasnt happened to me but to a close friend) as if they have heard that if they speak or make eye contact that this is giving the reader something?
Querrants sometimes can want a reading just to test you and to try and make fun of divination ~ thats so childish and cruel... Weve just got to make sure that we set there sceptic beliefs disappear :D

thanks for all the help!

i did not actually think of the blackboard, although of course you're right, it's weird to write on that! but i did snoop for conformation on her notepad - and it was still there. drat.

now she's moved to a different town and i wish her all the best. but this scenario will play itself out again, so that is why i'm wondering.

and as for the 'blank' people, yes, i do tell them i'm having problems seeing clearly. unfortunately a lot of those seem to take this as conformation that this is all a lot of nonsense, like thanks so much! i just spent hours on this stuff only to be told they think it's all hogwash anyway? bah!

gotta run, work really interferes with having a life!
