Are there, to your knowledge, sun signs that are more likey to have psychic ability than others? I was told that being a Taurus, I would have to work quite a bit harder than some other sun signs to hone my psychic and divination abilities. Your views?

As far as I know the water signs are particularly psychic-sensitive. At least I know that Pisces & Scorpio are supposed to be. That's all I know. I'm interested to hear from others on this, too.

I'm a Taurus and I've always felt things, more than seen
them, if that makes any sense.

I just get feelings that something is going to happen, or react very negatively
in a physical way to certain people. And it always turns out to be right on target.
I think that we're probably the most "psychic" of all the earth sun signs and
we feel things thru our bodies more than our minds.

Does this make sense? I always have a hard time explaining where my "intuitions"
come from. Oh well..I tried. :)

Edited to add : I'm also very good at Tarot and at using the Pendulum for
Divination (blasted thing has been telling me for weeks that Kerry would lose and
I refused to believe it :) ). But I'm terrible at interpreting dreams and don't
even get me started on meditation or astral projection. I could never do those
things, my spirit is way too attached to this Earth.

If you follow a basic astrology book, it will say water signs are the most likely to have psychic ability. I however don't think psychic ability has anything to do with your sun sign. In astrology, The planets and there relation to the houses all are deciding factors. All you really need to do is find your medium. Since you are an earth sign, try using crystals. You can also do meditations outside connected to the earth. I had a friend who was a taurus that would scry using the pattern in grass.

Where can you find out what your medium is? I am air. I'd like to know what abilities air is supposed to be good at.

so, being cancer, a water sign, what medium might be good for me? Scrying bowl? I have been meaning to try one of those, but i haven't been able to get one...

Seapearls,

I'm not an expert on the subject but I beleive tarot cards are ruled by air. Cloud scrying would probaly come easy to you and the use of books (can't think of its technical term) should work.

Halfwaynowhere,

I'm a cancer also. Dream work comes easy to me. Reading tea leaves, mirror scrying, and water bowl scrying are also methods I have been sucessful at.

You know, I never thought of it like that - earth signs being drawn or finding it easier to use earth-based methods (duh! )

I'm a triple water, and have always found scrying with water far better than with crystals.

That was some very useful reading. As I'm an Aries it tells me that I would be good with Candle magic. I've never tried this - So maybe I should give it a try :uhhuhuh:

I agree. Besides, many believe that everyone has the capacity to become psychic and that some must try harder than others to accomplish that.

I am a triple Scorpio.

I am an empath. I have prophetic dreams, astral travelling and out of body

experiences. I can feel and sense energy. Runes are a natural.

I love tarot but have always struggled with it, (perhaps the 'airiness' of them is why.)

I definitely believe that attuning to your astrological element is a worthy practice.

But look at your whole chart, what is predominate?

Speaking of Astrology. Does anyone know where to find Really good Free Natal Charts? I knew I use to have a website that did them but I dont remeber the link.

Aquarius here. I have a big ol' star chart for myself someplace- Gemeni moon and Sagittarius Rising, I believe. Anyway, I'm chock full of Airy goodness and while that might damn me in terms of any attention span, I like to think it keeps me a good grasp on things.

I've always read that certain signs are more attracted to the occult than others, and in my experience this is true- water signs tend to be more 'psychic' while air signs tend to be more studious. Fire signs often seem either uncaring of metaphysics or they are WAY into them, but their main thing is their enthusiasm. And earth signs, well, sorry guys... I totally don't understand earth signs.

But I do agree that while everybody has their knacks (and yes, these knacks are going to be influenced by the incredibly amount of influence being poured on them by the structure of the cosmos at the time of their birth and through their lifetime), you can learn things. Even boys can be acrobats, but both guys and girls have to work harder if they start later, and boys don't have as natural an affinity for it. Same thing applies to magic, I find. Your element (as decided by your sun sign) can offer a lot of foundation work for what you do. When I first got into magic a few years ago I mostly practiced literal air magic- working with wind. I still do that a lot, and sometimes I find myself deciding "I want a breeze" and before I can even go through the motions of the little spell boom! I get a breeze. It's kind of wonky, but if you want to strengthen your tie to your particular element, I suggest going for it.

Don't be afraid to use common sense, too. Just think about your element and see what comes to mind. magic isn't all archaic correspondences, it's also a healthy does of folklore! Water, for example... flows. Water is deep. Water allows life, but it also is neccessary for decay. Blood, semen, sweat, and more. Very primordial element. Is it any wonder it tends to promote psychic ability? And once you get a good rapport going with your own element, if you want to branch out into others? Go for it. I kind of like approaching it, as an air sign, by going: Hmm. So, how does air affect fire? Well, it makes it dance... wonder if I can't try a little pyrokinesis, hmm?

Wow. I don't usually ramble this much. Sorry! :D
