God, I can't believe this. :bangyourh :bangyourh
I'm currently in the process of moving from one house to another, and half of my things are at the old house still. Last night I stayed over here at the new place, and after college this afternoon I stopped by the old place to pick up my laptop and a few other things I'd forgotton to bring on the last trip over.
A package had come for my roommate, so I was excited and looked at it, petted the cat, and then got down to business. I pulled out yea olde dusty laptop case, and went to load up Rhapsody- Not there. I'd left the laptop on my couch in the living room the night before, and now it wasn't there.
I looked everywhere. But not only was it missing, so was the power cord and my optical mouse. The phone line it'd been plugged into was still sitting right there at the foot of the couch.
I asked the neighbours- one of them saw a short latino man on the front porch, at the door this morning, but they were distracted and didn't get the chance to see where he'd gone.
I thought I'd locked the front door, but appearantly not well enough.
No jewelry taken, the other computers just fine... but the laptop sitting on the couch was easy to just go in, pick up, gather up the cord, and leave. And now it's gone.
An officer is on the way over to file the report, because since the alleged man went into the house while I was gone, it's considered burglery and they have to do it in person.
That laptop was my 18th birthday present from my father, and had a lot of drawings, artwork, and graphics work that I'd done on it. Not to mention just my personal programs and stuff. Games, things like that. A $2,000 laptop, gone.
My only hope is that whatever jerkoff who stole it will try to pawn it, and I'll be able to buy it back. But if it's been wiped, I'm almost like, I don't have that money, and with my stuff gone, what's the use? But if he does try to pawn it, they always take down the name and address from their ID, so...
*huge sigh* looks like my only access is at school and from mom's fiance's computer. That was such an awesome little laptop. I mean, crappy, 'cause it's a laptop, but still very good functionality-wise, and it was mine.
:wah: :wah2: :sniffsnif :flamer: :flamer: :wah: :atantrum: :grrrrr: :grrrrr: :grrrrr:
