Hello, I would like to present the Mystic wicks community with a simple gift. this is to all of you, for your spirits, your advice, and kindness. May this always be a safe haven. :)
Its just a little something from my sketchbook. Its alot simpler than my usual art, and not my usual style either, but I feel the emotion in it comes across.
It is called 'Moon Priestess', it represents the mother channeling through a young priestess in the moonlight. I hope it is appreciated. :)

"drawing ( forgive the pun) down the moon . but in a very beautiful and heartfelt way , as when one actually does draw down the moon , and your heart is filled with the Goddess.

Yup, I'm redesigning my site again so I was looking for ideas and inspirations. I'm transferring over to a new host so I can have hostees and more the one email account, I also hope to have some sister sites, groups, cliques, and a webring for elite women web designers...... I'm thinking of doing a pretty pastel layout now... hoping to get some help from my friend who makes graphics... :)
And your work is lovely!!!!

Once again, Bravo! Your art is exceptional! I still want more! :) You'll soon find out, my appetite for *real* art is never satisfied! By *real* art, I mean art that comes from the heart, from your emotions. Wonderful work! Thanks again for sharing!

thank you. It is an exceptional statement when an artist shows their bravery to show work to people they may never see.
Why not post it again in the art forum? They could use a thread or two.

out there ..... it is like putting your liver , or some other inner oran on display and saying do you like it ?? what do you think? but then after a while you realise it is your inner experience and its wonderful for it to be liked thrilling even ..... but it is still your inner experience that counts..... and Sweetness and Light
Yours is shining through .........

September 4th, 2001, 11:25 PM
Very beautiful Swan! I love it, it pulses with energies. Very peaceful. A mother watching her child sleep is what it brings to my mind. :)
Ooh Puma thank you for the kind offer!
Its very sweet of you. :)
I have a couple friends that sometimes scan things for me (when they remember hehe), but for that kind offer id be more than happy to draw/paint you a special picture and snail mail it. :) Pm -me- if you're interested hehe.
Im getting braver, I have some dragons I drew scanned. Dragons are my passion for drawing, I draw them almost every time I pick up a pencil, I have been since I was very small. I also do scupture, I feel I am ALOT better at that than I am at drawing.
I particularily like sculpting hands for some reason. I think the human hand has such posibility for emotion, its fascinating. I will go find one to show you all. Perhaps I should be doing this in the 'art' forum? I didn't know there was one till I saw it mentioned in one of the posts in this thread.

Some of my dragons. :)
Im particularily shy about them. ^^;
Circe: A baby blue winged anphibian dragon.
http://www.sugarie.net/greentea/art/circe.jpg
Ebon: An older male dragon. (Doodled while on an airplane in pencil & charcoal)
http://www.sugarie.net/greentea/art/ebon.jpg
Topaz: Just the head of a dragon, I messed up his eyes.
http://www.sugarie.net/greentea/art/topaz.jpg
I draw dragons so often its kind of odd. ^^; my best friend Jess always teases me (lightheartedly) about it. :)
(like: "OMG its not a dragon!" if im drawing something else).
I also draw anime style stuff alot too. I submitted some to a fanart contest, unfortunatley the one that had promotional stuff for the site all ove it won. (Ie: sitename rocks!) I wanted to win so I could get an anime artbook I had my eye on. Oh well.
Oh I found them! Here are my fanart submissions. (some of my actual finished work, not just sketchbook doodles)

Yes I paint. :)
The anime ones were painted in watercolor. I have a huuuuge setup at my house for art. I have a drafting table coverd in acrylic, watercolor, chinese paints (im learning to do chinese painting & caligraphy, i allready do japanese caligraphy). I have tons of art stuff strewn around the house. (messy me! ^^; )
We should do some sort of neat event in the art forum like;
"Draw your interpretation of this emotion/thing/idea" and see what shows up. Ive always wanted to do something like that with a group of people. (ah memories of art classes).

I used to do art therapy groups with kids where they drew to a theme or music etc etc , it was wonderful ........ I GOT paid to do that stuff ..... it was wonderful .......... and then they got to interpret as well ........... it was very useful too
YOU are a wonder MISS MOON !!!!!!as in now I wonder why I didnt think of that LOL

Ooh that sounds like a wonderful job! I bet it was great!
Do you have any idea on a theme for the first 'round'? How about we do a weekly or bi-weekly 'theme drawing' session? Allowing photographs of sculptures or whatever too so its not limited to drawing only. It would be great to see sculptures of our theme of the moment too. (I love art! Heck, I manage an art gallery!)
:)

I will be opening one in Campbell river shortly also. (One that will be completley managed & run by me, this one is also run by my parents, but I am the one who deals with customers, does art consulting, orders stuff etc. My father assembles frames *it is also a custom framing gallery*)

Not to be conceited but I can't believe I didn't either, there were hardly any entries and the one that won was blatantly ripped off of an original picture and very badly done. (Not to be harsh but it was just a quick scribble in pencil) but it had 'this site rules' 'blah blahshamelessplugblah' sort of things on it. x_x
Puu! I worked really hard on them too. Ah well, cest la vie. Maybe I wasn't ment to have the Ayashi no Ceres artbook.

ohhh! Swan!! Those are beautiful! You're very talented! I wish I could draw... and sometimes I try, but .... well here's an example.. a couple days ago, I drew a picture of Jon Bon Jovi... I think it looks just like him.. my fiance said, "Who's that?" My friend Mel said "Is that Chad?" Chad is my brother.... and some people say he looks like Jon Bon Jovi, but I tend to disagree, but probably only because I think Jon is a hottie, and thinking of Chad along those lines is a bit gross. LOL I think I'll pretend it *is*, in fact, a picture of Chad, that way people don't feel stupid when I say it's Jon Bon Jovi. It's a sick, sad world.
Thanks for sharing your art!!

what a little cutie that little girl is. :) Love the wings.
Keep up the wonderful work swan.
I was painting a bit tonight, attempting to do a goddess inspired picture. It just isn't coming to me, maybe I should wait for the full moon? ;) Im out of practice with my paints and I was attempting chinese style painting. (The most difficult I have tried so far! It looks easy, but that is decieving lol) you have to hold the brush a certain way also, and just the preparation of the paints and grinding the inkstone is a 'zen' experience. it takes ALOT of patience to complete a work. Ive only finished a few so far. (mostly paintings of black orchids). I hope to maybe take classes sometime, id love to hone my painting skills enough to be able to put the things in my mind on paper. Im in an artsy mood but have no idea what to work on, maybe ill go finish some of my beading or something, painting just isn't happening tonight. ^^;
What sort of arts/crafts/ect is everyone interested in? (I should probally put this in the art section.. ^^; )
