View Full Version : Tarot / Numerology Exercise

I find it hard to believe that this one hasn't been posted before, but I searched and couldn't find a thread on it, so I thought I'd bring it up anyway. We have a lot of newbies that could benefit from this exercise and also a few of us more "seasoned" (that's nicer than saying "old") readers can benefit from the review.

Adding up your birthday to get your Personality Card:

Here is my birthday for an example,

6/6/1974

Add the month and day together. Then add the numbers of the year together.

6+6=12 and 1+9+7+4=30

If you get a 2 digit number add that together to reduce the number for each set of numbers. If you have a single digit # after adding the day and month together, just add that # to the result of your year #.

1+2=3 and 3+0=3

Add those reduced #s together.
3+3=6

You are looking for a # from 1-22. If your number is higher, reduce it by adding it together.

So, my Personality Card, from the math above is #6 - Lovers.

Any questions? Comments?

Edited to Add:
The Lovers is a good card to represent my personality. I'm a Gemini so I'm already flighty and it's hard for me to make decisions. This card reinforces that fact. I'm constantly the one with the devil or angel on my shoulder trying to make me choose between them. :) Also the # 6 is associated with home and family and supporting others (numerology) so that makes sense with my personality also. I'm tempermental and sometimes will seem to be very distant and cold (air sign again), but at other times I can be warm and helpful. I'm a walking contradiction.

Thanks, Dagda! Maybe I wasn't using the right search terms.

Devi, 3s are communicators. :D They talk alot. Also, in the case of tarot #3 corresponds with the Empress and creativity.

Oh yeah we did this in the Tarot class I took. I am 9, the Hermit. I then took a enlarged photocopy of that card, coloured it, and taped it to the front of my Tarot journal. I think the Hermit card is great for a journal :-)

I'm 3, the Empress. I don't think I've ever got that card in a reading. :awwman: But it does fit me.

Wow, I was rather surprised that my number turned out to be 13- Death.

I have to figure out what that means now.

Thanks for the exercise!

I'm confused too. My birthday is 11-22-1950 which adds up to 21. So is my card #21 - The World, or do I add 2+1 and end up the card #3 - The Empress?

Lunacie, you keep 21. Occasionally you might revert to a #3 mentaility, but you are mostly a #21 World card.

Gaia, what can I help you with?

I'm a number 9 - Hermit? Please describe what that signifies. :wth:
Once I read a book :reading: on this topic and from what I can remember, it described the significance from that number as a general nature you present and/or are presented to the world. Kinda like a foot you start on in whatever you do. [If I'm explaining this right. :hmmmmm: ]

I find this subject interesting. :nicetie: I have so many questions. (I guess that's why I'm 9.:)

How does everyone feel about the card and their number? Does it seem to make sense that this card is related to you? Do you exhibit some of the qualities of that card? Or not? It would be cool if everyone could edit thier previous posts to add this info, or just add another response to the thread. I'm going to go back & edit mine for the Lovers card. :)

Hi MystikSea! Here is a thread about the Hermit: http://www.mysticwicks.com/showthread.php?t=56728

:flowers: I truly related to everything. For example: "It is easy to see why 9 is the number of initiations into self realization because one must always return to ones self." really hit home.

Also "The hermit reveals that you can consider it a lost day if you don’t learn something new; as there is always something new to learn." is generally very true.

Thank you for this Lisa.

I probably didn't explain very well. The link to the thread on MW works fine, it's the links within that thread that didn't work... still don't work.

The only link in that thread is for the book and it takes you to Amazon. The only other post that I thought could be mistaken for a link is the one's that are underlined but it has the information directly under them.
