See I am new to the craft and I am having trouble trying to balance school, friends and also trying to learn more about Wicca. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how I could make more time for everything. :foh:

hmmm.... I'd just say take your time. Dont stress about time. If you can time to study on wicca then take it but if not dont stress about it.

hmmm... prioritize is my only suggestion... go to school and do the work... are you the only one of your friends interested in Wicca? If not, then mix Wicca and your friends, learn together... if you're the only one... well... then I dunno... sorry if I wasn't much help

I'm was in the same position as you. I thought time was hard because of the the HW and friends I had to balance. I learned A LOT in the summer time so that gave me a jump start w/no school and all. I take about 15-20 minutes of meditation/yoga @ 8:00 and then I read about 20-30 minutes on Wicca and/or spirituality. It's really not much if your dedicated. Mystic Wicks helped me a lot in learning about new things. This place really keeps me motivated and inspired about learning! Thanks everyone! :hugz: Remember..sometimes you have to sacrifice to gain. _inabox_ :shhhh:

These people have good advice. I started researching Wicca when I was in high school too. I was also in the closet, so I had even less free time, but I would go to the library after school to study and take breaks from the homework to study Wicca. I would suggest using up a bit of your free time to study Wicca, even if you read a half hour or so before bed, that's still time well spent.

School and loved ones should come first. Schedule time for extra study, if you wish it. For example, you could assign yourself a few pages of Wiccan books a day.

It's not about designating time to each aspect of your life as spirituality is permeates all levels of existence and enriches the experience. Know that studying Wicca is not all about sitting down and physically opening a book to read or surfing the web, it's about being out there in Life and applying what you know to the process, cultivating, going with the flow, experimenting and generally living life to the full. As you go on you will have realised that Wicca has become integrated entirely with your life and is part and parcel with how you think, respond and act in relation to certain situations and circumstances. It's about being within yourself as you progress spiritually and having the audacity and humility to accept that learning never stops and pursuing all paths that attract you and have something to offer. Go with it ;)

Two thoughts.
First, as other people have suggested, figure out when you have time around your other obligations and interests. Maybe that's 20 minutes a day. Maybe it's an hour or two on the weekends. (I tend to do better with longer chunks of time if I'm studying or learning something: 20 minutes is often frustrating.)
I'd also section Gede's suggestion about incorporating it into your life. Doing small things (grounding, cleansing, short meditations, etc.) can help you keep your religion part of your daily life and help you learn things, but they don't need to take lots of time.

I am also still learning how to balance family life and study and I have been at it for years LOL. It's not easy but maybe you can try incorparting things into your everyday life like recycling, community service, etc.

Usually when I try to study anything and try to remember it, I do it right before I go to bed. I tell everyone that I'm getting ready for bed and not to disturb me unless it's important. (I can get pretty feisty when it comes to reading and listening to music lol) Supposedly you can retain information better if you look into it before you go to bed. Supposedly your brain can work on the things you don't understand. Hence the phrase "I'll sleep on it". :)
