Hi I am a 28 year old female From michigan...I have been exploring wicca for some time.. Im very new. A online wiccan friend of mine recommended this site highly for help and guidance. Im an open book and ready to learn! What is a good place to start?? What is a good forum for me to go with...I cant explain the warm energy that comes over me in just reading and learning....Ive been hesitant to try spells or any rituals. Is this normal? Sorry about all the questions, Im must so thrilled to find this site!!!

Yes we got married September 17th. So Im completely new to the area and the north...I don't even have a winter jacket yet!!! :antennae: I also have a question...Ive heard, and the person didn't know details, that there is a wiccan ritual on how to name your cat...I just got a new at (2 weeks ago) and I still havent named him for this reason. I want to name him right...Does anyone know about this...

Standish is between saginaw and bay city!!

Thank you so much for talking to me..!!!

:welcome: this is a GREAT site and I think being hesitant is normal, i was the first time i did one, but it became my heart. i recommend any of scott cunningham's books, and a book titled "The Circle Within" by Dianne Sylvan very good i beleve to start off with.

Oh, okay, that is a couple hours from me

Where are you from originally? As for the wiccan ritual for naming a cat, I have no idea. I am not Wiccan, but more of a Kitchen Witch. I am sure that there are plenty of people here that could answer that question. I suggest posting it in the Magic and Rituals forum.

If you have yahoo messenger, I am on there quite often. My user name is mistywitch1978. Hope to talk to you soon!

Hello and welcome!

Although it's natural to feel afraid/intimidated, there's no need to be. I suggest you look around the site, particularly in New Pagans. Also, there are 'stuck' threads in the Books forum that give good suggestions for reading material.

As someone mentioned, The Circle Within is a wonderful book, and for practical teachings I don't think you can go wrong with Scott Cunningham - his Wicca for the Solitary Practitioner and Living Wicca are Wiccan staples. I'm a book junkie, so I'd also recommend the following:

- Out of the Shadows by Lilith McLelland
- The Practical Pagan by Dana Eilers
- The Inner Temple of Witchcraft by Christopher Penczak

OK, I'll stop now - remember to have fun!

Not unusual at all! Learning about your spiritual path is a great feeling, and although I have been a serious seeker of Wicca for several years now, I have only done one spell and two rituals!

Hurray! Welcome to MysticWicks!
I know the feeling. Don't get too worried about spellwork...while it's good to put a lot of thought into what you are doing, try not to stress about making a mistake. Good intent is the most important bit!

Never been to Michigan, but yeah...if you're not used to cold, go and stock up on nice winter apparel.

Welcome to MW . Don't worry about mishaps in your magick. _whistle_ The Creator sees your heart and knows when you are trying your best. Besides The Divine has a sense of humor. So go ahead and knock of the cup of water with your robe while bending over to pick up the wand you dropped.
Oh wait, I already did that. :T
